Feggie3: I have countless reasons for supporting Obi. I love the man when I first heard him speaking on life debate against Professor Osibanjo. He looked calm, eloquent and very confident.
I loved him more when I saw his CV ... That was mad bomb for me and I asked myself when will I achieve such in my life.
I loved him even more when I found out he was impeached because he refused budget padding and he never lobbied any cartel in the State house of assembly. You won't believe Mr. Obi never met the judge for once who finally granted him victory in the court.
I love the fact that Mr. Obi doesn't sponsor any political group or sponsored any particular candidate. He does his things to favour the masses equally and he leaves the masses to choose their candidates uninfluenced.
I was mad when I learnt that doing the last global recessions different country leaders consulted Obi internationally to help formulate economic policies for their country.
I was impressed when I learnt Obi did different ground breaking ceremonies for launching numerous manufacturing companies during his tenure including the popular Inoson Motors.
To my greatest surprise I never believed any Eastern State would be tide down to the timid rural villages. Where I grew up, if you see any tide road in a village know that it belongs to a Royalty. When I first got to Anambra back then, I thought maybe those areas are special hometown of kings or ex governors but my dad told me it was widespread in Anambra that Obi did it.
Obi is the first Governor I heard that gave one million naira to every 1st class graduate of Anambra State throughout his tenure and he always passionately sponsored the excellently brilliant ones abroad for u to know he is passionate about knowledge and world class education.
Obi cleared all back logs of gratuities and pensions which his predecessors owed. Not only that, he paid monthly stipends to all elderly persons who are not even entitled to receiving pensions throughout his tenure.
Obi partnered with various foreign companies as well in Anambra, I learnt this when I was watching a clip where some foreigners called him upon a stage to present him an award.
Obi made Anambra become recognised as an oil producing State.
State owned Teaching hospitals in the State were moribund till Obi came and revived them. He opened and properly equipped countless number of schools.
Obi is an economist but he is a convener of STEM. Science, technology and computer programming and when you hear him speaking about science you will think he is an engineer.
To cap it all he rejected all allowances allocated to him and left 75 billion naira behind for the next administration.
There was a programme I watched when Obi was asked how he will cut insecurity he said the ratio of police to Nigerian population is too wide that he will employ thousands of more police officers for proper intelligence gathering. A Yoruba boy called Tunde called in on the radio station and told him he should make each ward in the country to have two policemen each that it will go a long way and Obi was madly impressed. I loved his humility and how he eulogized and appreciated the caller for coming up with such wonderful idea.
Just like a medical professional who hates seeing unkept wounds. Obi an inherent technocrat is indeed a true economist who hates seeing unnecessary waste!!!
Nice one. Seems like it's been long you started supporting him
As the headline states, state when (month) you decided Peter Obi was the candidate to support and vote for and your reason.
As for me, I looked at my picture gallery and saw that my first ever downloaded picture of Obi was in late May. I also made my first nairaland post supporting Obi that period. Take note this was when he was still in PDP, I was hoping he becomes the PDP flagbearer and was initially confused when he left and heartbroken but now I'm fvcking energized for him.
As for what convinced me, I came across two videos of this man, one was where he was speaking against governors and former government officials still receiving huge pensions and asking people to go and verify that he has not received one naira from Anambra state since he left office.
The second was where he was outlining how he cut the cost of governance in Anambra state. He met the state in large debt and also owing workers, he cut the leakages across government and paid the workers, built roads, schools and hospitals and still saved and invested lots of money for the subsequent government.
And just like that, this man bought my soul.
So Obidients state your own conversion experience and when. My first saved picture below and Early videos of the man.
budaatum: For some odd reason I don't think Seun is dumb enough to "admit that Peter Obi is the cleanest of all the 2023 presidential aspirants" and then be pro-someone else. Unlike some, he seems far too intelligent to not be "pro- the cleanest", but I suppose I should let him speak for himself.
And to be honest with you, I don't think tinububots are being oversuccessful as more seem to becoming Obidient.
Budatuum, you are OBIdient too! Wow! You really are brilliant and good hearted. I thought you were outside the country?
Izzou, I'm currently banned in the sports section. But it's going well so far, just that I have another challenger who is trying to circumvent due process and hijack the thing. We have just 2 weeks to resolve the issue. Thanks for asking.
Izzuo, remember what I told you about people who would be in America or outside the country and be advocating for bad leadership because they know they wouldn't be here to feel the effects of bad leadership.
izzou: I finished service and started my life in 2015.
I have worked in 3 firms. The first I resigned. The second was a bank and I resigned too. The third was an engineering firm and they retrenched us because they couldn't pay anymore.
I was jobless and decided to drive on Uber. I drove 3 cars and two of them are on NL. My last partner was a guy in the UK. I have never met him or seen his Pictures. He sent me a pm, gave me his address in Lagos, and gave me his Hyundai Elantra to drive.
When the car jacking issues were rising then, my family pressured me to stop and I refused. It was intense and I had to drop that car. The guy was really sad but that part ended.
I decided to enter into automobile spare parts, and that's where I am now. Its lucrative, but we the small scale ones can barely stay afloat because of how the naira is falling.
When I drag this government, its not for banters. I know where it affects me. I don't need to read online to know if Buhari is working. I see it everyday in my hustle. I know what it takes to make 1,000 profit.
So if this government is favouring anybody, don't interpret is as a theory. People who drag them have their stories too
I lost my relatives because of a failed working system. Thunder fire anybody still defending this government.
BlueRayDick: How do people lie conviniently to themselves and then try to make others believe such lies in the face of overwhelming evidence ?
I thought lie Muhammad is the one saddled with the responsibility of telling lies shamelessly in the face of contrary evidence ; but when ordinary citizens now take it upon themselves to paint a false picture of things , it calls for concern .
How can anybody confidently say Buhari’s government has done more for Nigeria security-wise compared to his predecessors ?
How ?
I was in the northwest in 2014 and most people living there will tell u for free that insurgency , banditry and religious/communal clashes that is now order of the day today was not heard of in the north west back then. In fact , students who were displaced by Boko haram in the north east were shared by Jonathan to north western states where they enjoy relative peace to continue their education fully paid by the govt while soldiers continue to fight the insurgents in the north east .
How can anybody now claim Buhari’s government has done well security wise ? Today we have gun wielding Fulani men kidnapping people not just in the north but places like Oyo , Ogun and even the east ( going by the account of the Methodist prelate that was kidnapped recently )
Omo ! I understand u might be living peacefully in Lagos , Dubai or any other part of the world u are , but the reality is clear as day . Today we have people going to church with guns and other weapons , we have communities paying bandits just to access their farms , we have bandits taking over major express roads and kidnapping people , we have bandits attacking trains and blowing rail lines with dynamites , we have bandits in hundreds attacking a major airport , in fact bandits even sacked the Nigerian military school and kidnapped officers without any hinderance .
Like some people actually can’t see Buhari’s government is a failure as far as security is concerned ?
Bobo, I have never seen this level of gaslighting in my life before.
These are evil and heartless bastards we're dealing with here.
You are a testament of a miracle here.
The only Yoruba Lagos boy who doesn't give a fvck about tribe and I think you need to be commended.
Thumbs up bro. I can imagine it's difficult for you to also rebuke them offline.
PresidObi: Everyone is tired, tired of hearing bad news about Nigeria, tired of hunger, starvation, malnutrition, insecurity, poor drainage, lacking water supply, lack of power supply, no hospitals or no doctors or drugs, inflation, kidnapping and other social vices.
We all want a change to the better, Peter Obi is the positive change we seek.
Did you see how your post which I screenshot went viral?
For God's sake where are the Obidients in this thread? Why are we allowing party agents, propagandists and tribal Nazis to hijack the narratives??
These people are now trying to gaslight you into thinking that Buhari has performed very well in the last 7 years. None of these people could be courageous enough to stand up and condemn their own and the only one who did was attached ruthlessly and inimically linked to me.
Don't fall for these scams. Read the history of the person who is now canvassing for Tinubu and see his mindset towards this election.
You see it?? My people, we are now in that phase, where these people try to gaslight you into believing that Buhari's government is actually a success. May Owo happen to una, say amen.
Check what most of them are posting on Nairaland, even Twitter. They are getting fed up of him already, and warning him to leave UGM and IPOB alone.
They are warning him to focus on the rest days of the Week and let them keep enjoying their Monday sit-at-home in peace.
Another tribalistic infested post. You are beginning to show your colors gradually. The exact same way you were shy of proclaiming your support for the old thief.
Oasis007: He's a brilliant Technocrat, and seems so determined to transform the State. Guess what? Anambrans prefer Obiano type of Leaders or a PO type that would rather save instead of spending on infrastructural developments.
