Quarterpast: Really?
While I agree with wike that it was actually too early for the now Axed Fubara to show his true colors, it is also wrong for wike to treat him in that manner. For God's sakes, how many of Wike's predecessors subjected him to such? Wike picked all of FUBARA's commissioners, handpicked all FUBARA's appointees such as to be in control of FUBARA's govt. Then he wanted to be getting his percentage from Rivers monthly subvention. Wike isn't fair to FUBARA, but if I was fubara, I wouldn't have acted so fast. Politics is about tactics No need to pretend. Don't take what u won't eat |

BreconHills: That may well be the case but the people that lived there surely had a say in their future. The southern Cameroons and Northern Cameroons abutting Nigeria did have a plebiscite or referendum. Bakassi deserved no less. Let us remember that the civil war was fought under a military regime and as such the people had little say in Nigeria and Caneroons " little agreement".
These indigenous people's rights should have been at least canvassed at the ICJ.
At least. Nigeria has a lot issues at hand and doesn't think of joining other's needs |

It's easier with lesser qualifications than PhD. Many personnel you meet over there don't want you for fear of competition.

What is important is for govt to ensure security of lives and properties across board
Incessant killings and kidnappings has made Nigerians especially in the remote parts suspicious and resentful of strangers

I am only trying to find out if the ibos in the North are aware of the comments ipob are making on social media trying to put their lives at risks or if they are the same persons coming online to chestbeat but hiding under the beds in real life. SIRTee15: There's no detail u have that I dont know. I may not 100% agree with how Trump is going about it, but he's the first President to enact real action on this urgent crisis I live in a country worse hit by this tariff but I dont build my life around sentiment. That I benefit from what is wrong doesnt change the fact that its wrong. Most republicans have said they may not agree with Trump but his actions will set a template for future trade discussions and negotiation.
American coporation moved over 20 million jobs overseas within a space of 10 years, that impact was felt in most manufacturing cities esp the northeastern rust belts. Travel to those cities, they look abandoned, dilapidated and run down. these are cities that depended on manufacturing for economic sustenance. Trump is right and I stand by him on this one. I am in support of you o Let wailers wail the more |
Foreign Affairs › Re: World Leaders React To Trump's Reciprocal Tariffs by donmik: 4:45pm On Apr 04, 2025 |
thesolutions: What I understand as tariff is government collecting a certain percentage of imported products upfront even before the goods are sold. This means the importer bears the risk and losses if the product are not sold. The government is unconcerned about the possible loss.
If the products are essential goods that is not readily available in the local market, the customers who are Americans will pay a fortune for the product. Again, the government is not affected.
This means government has hijacked the economy. It appears that government is in charge of what to produce, how to produce and to whom to produce.
In reality, they are contracting other countries to produce for it citizens while they relish the profits they now call tariffs.
This is not governance. It is oligarchy.
That is what I understand. Well spoken He promised them that they were to make America great again. Whatever wealth the govt makes is in order to reduce citizens taxes and encourage local production of consumer's goods. Let's watch him after 3 years before we strangulate him. I know so well this man cannot fail in biz for his nation I don't gain anything from him but I am in total support of him building wealth for his nation Let their enemies now look to RUSSIA and CHINA for help abeg |
