Wonder why many of us think the hard way/hard outcomes/when things are difficult/when there's mass failure/etc....we think these are indices of a great system. My lecturer once looked at our result sheets and said, "this is how exams are supposed to be." In that test, more than half of us scored below 50%.

I no even understand why you dey think am like this. But, I'm guessing that if he's fired, his deputy may take over...not sure of their laws and all. And the deputy no be my relative...and I no know if any of my relatives dey high command for JAMB...and, if any of them dey there and is qualified to take over, why not?

If you know Nigeria well and you pity our state, you won't pray for that man to be sacked. Rather, you would wish he makes it to even a more prominent position in this country

I love to see children excel in their career. I have been teaching and I sleep fine when my candidates do very fine, only just by the way of merit, not malpractice.

1. Increase JAMB Frequency
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination should be conducted 2 to 3 times a year. This gives students multiple opportunities to succeed, reduces the pressure of a one-time exam, and aligns with global best practices.

2. Extend JAMB Result Validity
A JAMB result should be valid for at least 2 to 3 years. This will reduce the financial burden on families and give students more time to prepare for university admission processes.

3. Discourage Post-UTME Exams
Post-UTME exams should be phased out. Instead, JAMB should be strengthened to serve as a centralized, standardized, and credible assessment. Strict penalties should be enforced to curb exam malpractice.

4. Remove Limits on Institutional Applications
Students should be able to apply to as many institutions as they choose, just like in many developed countries. This allows for better matching between students and universities, increasing admission chances and reducing bottlenecks.

5. Revise University Grading System
The grading scale should be reviewed. For example, a score of 60% (not the common 70%) and above could be considered an “A”, encouraging realistic and fair academic expectations while promoting critical thinking over rote learning.

6. Link Lecturer Evaluation to Student Performance
Lecturers should be evaluated and promoted based on measurable student outcomes, teaching effectiveness, innovation, and feedback—not just academic publications. This will encourage better teaching and student support.

7. Integrate AI Across All Courses
Universities should incorporate Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies into all fields of study—medicine, agriculture, education, law, etc.—to better prepare students for the future workforce.

8. Record and Upload All Classes
All lectures should be recorded in video format and made available to students immediately after each class. This improves learning flexibility and helps students review complex topics at their own pace.

9. Government Grants for IT and Skill Development
The government should provide targeted grants and sponsorships to support IT skill acquisition for out-of-school youths and adult workers. This will boost national productivity and reduce unemployment.

10. Upgrade Curriculum for Relevance

I would like to know why Buhari and Tinubu brought ethnic politics in the appointments of the Heads of JAMB. Can you lecture us on that? That organisation was always left out of politics. Why did the APC make it a paramount goal that JAMB must be headed by someone from the presidents ethnic group?

Answer that without attacking me or calling me petty angry names..

I want to inform you that this JAMB man is a Yoruba and he worked throughout with Buhari.

Pls how old are you be sincere? I'm in my late 40s and I can tell you there was never a time any of our maths teachers marked our workings in steps. If they couldn't do this at school levels, is it waec that would do that? They later changed the scheme, like I said in my earlier post.
I derive nothing by making up any story. Without being told, I experienced this throughout my sech school days and waec mock exams. Our teachers would always warn us of being nervous when attempting questions to avoid mistakes in maths. I don't expect this to be an issue, please ask those who schooled in that era or if you still have your maths teacher's number, ask him and honestly come back to drop whatever he says.

My primary school teachers marked steps and gave us very good listening ears. Same with the secondary ones too

My university Maths lecturers all marked steps with prudence, unless one Cameroon man who said the answer cannot be right if the working is wrong. Bad of him anyway.

Well, I agree your experiences might be different. What i meant in my earlier post was that a Professor of Maths should be of the experience level of checking steps in Maths. Only for cases where such a person made it there by the hanki packi means

During Obadanjo and Yaradua, the JAMB leader was a kogi man [Salim]. The result was even poorer than this we have nowadays.

I can't figure any meaning in the ethnic inclination of this subject matter. I am sorry, you may enlighten me. If you clear me, I may learn.

This simple means only those affected by glitches and computer errors can resit for the exam, others should take their scores and prepare for next year jamb.

I wrote my Post UTME without paging a dime and the process was perfectly very fair. In contrast, my mates in some places wrote theirs paying and faced all sorts or shortchanging.

You all know the generation of learners and teachers are 5 and 6 in laziness and malpractices
