A framework is complicated? , it's like a barber saying using clipper is complicated and he will prefer to use sciscorrs, or a tailor saying sewing machine is complicated he'll prefer to use needle and thread, you really need to know the purpose and usefulness of frameworks, it'll help you on the long run.

If you learn JavaScript, you can easily pivk up it framework like react, vue and angular, in working environments these 3 are the most popular, react is currently leading, with the knowledge of the framework you can also learn Node Js(JavaScript runtime built on C++) for server side development so you won't need php, you can go for MERN or MEAN, tho I'm a MERN guy

Mean -mongodb express angular and node
