Well, I see the need to try help the guy by sharing your opinion, but, I'm startled you had to start playing the sentimental card towards the end of ur assertion.

Basically, in as much as you try to sound balanced and create an air of equality, pls, remember that in matters like these, it's more important to stick to condemning the act perpetrated by whichever gender.

If it were a woman going through this same phase, I won't hesitate to criticise the husband. I'd try as much as possible to squeeze the urge to sound biased or sentimental. That way, the act is being condemned; likewise the perpetrator.
