AKASBABA1: You don't need it but if you need such services, Justice of Peace( JP ) is the equivalent here. Pharmacist or Police can do that as well. Or you can print out a declaration form and list what you want to declare to be true. Take it to the police and the original documents plus photocopies they should be able to do that for you. |

Focus99: Hello everyone. I'm new to Australian thread. I am still reading from page one but I have questions to ask so I won't miss the deadline for 2023 intake. Do Australian Universities accept HND? For I want to apply for Business Administration.
Secondly, are we expected to pay application fee? If yes how much please. I want to believe they do accept it but not to all degrees. If you are apply I would suggest get an agent as you can’t apply directly yourself and agent fee should cover the application fee which some of the universities are requesting. |

Rang3rman2: Hey , I am one of the post graduate prospective students from Nigeria. I got your good news here on this tread and would like to know how to go about it. How did you finally go about the accommodation, what is your discipline, and how easy is work and study over there? Kindly reply me and preferably via my email address: preciousgold4reallove@yahoo.co.uk or phone contact: 07056456149. Hope to read from you soonest. Thanks. As suggested by OOA book school accommodation for few days if they permit, or get a hotel and stay for few days while you find a better accommodation. School accommodation can be quite expensive unless you can afford it. In terms of jobs I would say they are plenty of job due to coronavirus and employers are struggle to find staff members. Unfortunately I think unlimited hours is coming to an end this year so if you have restrictions then you might have to call back to 20hours a week unless you willingly to break the immigration law. |

Emirons9: wahala dey be that, you mean from visa it's won't affect right? You never know bro, might be a plus or might be the reason you will be denied. My question would be is the said person in Australia have a good track records? Haven’t break any visa rules before, no criminal record of any sought? Cause if they do and you associate yourself with them then it’s something I did be concerned about. Don’t get me wrong they not not even bother as this are two different people but just saying being safe is better. |

If I decide to say that I don't have any brother or family sibling in Australia during my GTE & visa application process, will there be any serious challenge? Like OAOA stated keep your story the same as the school share information with Immigration. All best the with your application. |

divineo1: Greetings, please I just got admission offer from University of Wollongong for Masters. Please is there anyone here in Wollongong, I have some questions to ask. How is schooling in Wollongong like for an international student? Are there part-time job opportunities? Is there any Nigerian group for Australian students I can join?
Thanks, any feedback will be highly appreciated. Wollongong University is great for international students I mean when I used to school there. Loved the environment and the city but in terms of job not so great but I think also it depends on the kinda of job you after as well. The common job there is the health job which are easy to come by but any aside that might be a struggle. Not too sure about Nigerian group. |

Aibukis: Thank you for the information, okay, let me focus on VISA first. Considering my story, what's my best bet for sure VISA grant? Ah I wouldn’t know as I am not an education agent nor visa agent…plus visa approvals are luck. I do know for sure they value experience but at this stage you can’t prove you have a formal education before working as community service or adult care. Unless you do then apply for BSc in any health courses but if not then go ahead with your IT and change when you get here. |

Aibukis: Hi Everyone, I have OND and HND in computer from Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), but i have not really worked in IT Sector at all, all my experience are related to Child care and Adult care, so i wanted to study Community Services in Australia. Please advice and guide, as VISA plus PR at the end of study are my goals. Thank you. #Australia Your best chance of getting an offer would be Information Technology unless you want to leave the IT sector totally then you can try other health related courses which you have a slim chances of getting an offer. Majority of jobs you can easily land are DSW, Social Work Aged Care but ofcos with a certificate. Chances of getting PR when you compare IT and Health related courses is Health. My opinion will be come in with what can get you a visa and then figure the rest when you in. |

Quiver: Can someone help me with the requirements for getting admission (bsc) in Australia? Or pin pointing where someone wrote about it would be fine. Thanks I would suggest you use google and look for the school you want to apply and then go through their requirements. The basic ones are O Level, English Exam, Int. passport and birth certificate. They are more when it’s comes to GTE |

Dstake: Please I need an advice, I have been researching about Australia but I need some advice especially from anyone living in Australia. I intend to apply for a master's degree program in electrical engineering in January. Please I would like to know if electrical engineering is a good course to study in Australia, are there jobs for electrical engineers. Also, which province or state has more of this jobs so I can target any school within that locality while applying. Note I studied electrical/electronic engineering and have been working as a HSE personnel for eight yrs. I keep saying to people even those that are here unless your main goal is to gain foreign education but if that’s not the case and your goal is to live and become citizen then forget about the high level courses or high level state to live in. Yes tradies make a lot more than office jobs and yes you can make good money if you work as an electrician/electrical engineer in a company or just a contractor. Also bear in mind high state have high target and with the way Australia is people are struggling to get job in their careers due to competition. I would say target a state that can give you quick PR and then walk your from there cause your experience from Nigeria doesn’t work here in Australia you need to start building your experience from start again especially with a job like that they would require you to know what you are doing. |

Naijabad: A friend of mine is in dilemma and has asked me give advice him on what do.
I'm confused myself, hence I'm bringing this here for those who are experienced to give their candid opinion.
My friend sent his wife to Australia 2 years ago on a student visa. He stayed back with the children and has been taking proper care of them since the wife left. The children are aged 10 and 8. The first child is in primary 6 and will enter secondary school next year. The second child, a boy, is in primary 4 and will move to primary 5 next year.
My friend's wifey just obtained her PR last month courtesy of one company she worked for and which nominated her.
Now the dilemma.
MY friends wifey wants the family to join her. The children are eager to move to Australia. But my friend is skeptical. His skepticism comes from two main factors: 1) he is 49 Years, 2) He is gainfully ( by Nigerian Standard) employed. Takes home about N900k per month working for a private company.
My friend will not be able to support the family abroad if he is to allow the children to move to Australia while he remains in Nigeria. EG if he sends AUD 1500, a month to them ( which is about N750K), it wont be able to pay the children's school fees let alone feed.
My friend want to know whether to join the family and do any menial or odd jobs he can lay hands on and at least be able to join hands withd the wifey and see the children through university is Australia. Which to him will be a landmark achievement in life.
Please advice. I would like to say this shouldn’t be up for a debate but hey every Mallam with his own kettle. He needs to realise that his kids should come first like he said he is 49years old. Why would you denied them of schooling in Australia. If I were in his shoes I would let the kids go and stay back in Nigeria. I know someone has said HEC fees but they wouldn’t be eligible for HEC Loan with the kinda of PR the wife has gotten as only Humanitarian PR is eligible for HEC but the kids would be eligible for HECS Help which will enable them pay a lower fee but also if she is PR now there are chances she would be Citizen before they even reach university stage which they will now be eligible for the HECS loan. Himself should continue his job and continue to support the family with whatever he can as coming to Australia means he would needs to start from scratch unless he is happy to do it. Come visit whenever he can and find a casual job when he is visiting and they would give him an idea if it worth leaving 900k p/m for Australia. |

Fredozki: Hello guys please I need your input regarding this scenario. I recently got a scholarship to Australia and my start date is May 2023. Am planning to apply for visa before the end of this December with my current passport which will expire October 2023.
I have already paid for passport renewal and my date of capturing is January 2023. I was told that the new passport will have a new passport number however that my data will be migrated to it.
Please will this have any implications with my Australian visa application now and in the future?, Should I suspend this process now?. Please i need your urgent advice guys.
Thanks. No it will not affect your application. submit your application with your current passport and then when you have the new one also fill in update information form from immi account not sure if it has a hard copy but I can have a look later. On that form you will explain when you are filling the form by letting them know you have a new passport number. Also just to be on a safe side email the school admission team as well with your new passport information. |
