Taguchi: nigeria will get better does not mean nigeria is good...it is an expression of hope and not a vote of confidence on the leadership
there is a topic on front page today where oyedepo lambasted the current administration while claiming that he warned nigerians in 2015
forget joke that man get mad influence...and it aint seasonal unlike that of a political office holder, he might have his allies in the political space; but he sure does not asslick nobody
Taguchi: i have a winner pastor as a friend..i know for sure that winners engage in almost daily activities of evangelism...and then their pastors all have seasonal operations they engage with which they are apraised by yearly
you dont expect them to clap for a pastor that was sent to a church that had 50 people in attendance only for the attendance to reduces to 30 after 3 yrs..or a pastor that recieves 50,000 as expenses and then generate 15,000
business or no business, make the guy carry him own annointing go open him own business and brainwash people too
Bros you go sabi cut grass for your secondary school days, the way you cut corners while passing your message is legendary.
Why not come out straight and clean, Church Na business or not?
hensben: Tithing is not mandatory, it’s optional. Moreover, I’m not sure he receive tithe but seed because people sow into his life due to his preaching. I like his model of spreading the gospel because that’s how Christ did it then. The greatest commission is evangelism of which Jesus was while on earth.
Taguchi: not holding brief for anyone, but this your logic no follow
Nigeria will get better?
You can only say this if you want the leaders to keep ruling, for you to want these politicians to keep ruling, it’s either you are benefiting from them or you are scared of voicing out against them.
Kindly choose the one you feel Oyedepo falls into.
nihilistjnr: Big men wont go to a dead pastor like that to give their tithe - How would they expect the Bishop to know who they are? Oyedepo's name carries considerable clout in that country, so you'll find it's the big boys who are asslicking him madly. How do you think Laralek, the guy builiding all the roads in Lagos state under Ambode got the contract to the build the new 100k seater auditorium for winners?
That pastor you saw in the news would have been given a quota to penetrate his area and convert all the souls in the area to the brand. That's literally what he's being paid for, and it's why the church would have invested heavily in the area. If he wanted a quota-less commission, he should start his own brand and move around in sackcloth with gorimapa like prohet Elijah.
There are levels to riches and influence in Nigeria. Just like you said some big boiz are asslicking Oyedepo, he’s also asslicking a lot of reputable politicians and billionaires in Nigeria. He doesn’t want to step on toes to avoid being fvcked up, a real man of God is suppose to preach against bad politicians and hope on God for protection or his olive oil, but he does otherwise.
Just last week, he said he can’t be friends with anyone who doesn’t believe Nigeria will get better, this was him indirectly hyping the politicians that they’ll fix the country soon. All na format, saying Nigeria will get better means you have hopes on our leaders, having hope on our leaders is nothing but asslicking and eye-service. He’s an asslicker too.
And to the pastor that got sacked, let’s just assume he was on salary with the agreement of meeting a particular target, be it financial targets or otherwise. To the best of my knowledge, anything that has to do with paying of workers and expecting financial productivity and growth is nothing but business. Now the question is; why do people find it difficult to agree that churches in Nigeria are profit business ventures and firm?
nihilistjnr: I'm from that church, born and raised.
I'm not a christian so I dont owe them any allegiance, but quite frankly I dont see what the church did wrong .
That church makes a lot of capital investment into their infrastructure and they don't do the parish model that you have in redeemed, at least not in Naija. Sunday services are broadcast from HQ in Otta to their satellite buildings in Lagos, so there's nothing like 'area congregation'. I dont know if they still do it, but I know back in the day the Church used to run a full fleet of buses to transport members to church for free from all across Lagos.
There are two kinds of pastors in that church, volunteers and fulltime. If you want to preach for the love of God without being paid for it, you can attend WOFBI, be ordained as a pastor and be able to preach at different winners services without collecting a dime. That one is between you and God. However, if you're on a salary then you are being paid to meet certain obligations and if you dont meet them, you MUST be sacked. It's not manna from heaven that is paying your salary, it's church income, and they must be able to deploy their capital with maximum efficiency.
If you accept to collect salary from a church as a pastor, then you must accept a quota of souls to be converted to the brand. If you dont meet up then geddifok and go and open your own slow growing church.
Come out straight, you mean obligations like tithes from members or maybe, money from rich members who were well asslicked and given special church treatment?
hensben: Yes it’s a fact but if these pastors decide to pack up due to what you are saying now think of number of people that will be affected. Like I said earlier, these pastors dominated people’s mind involuntarily.
They should pack up, they’ve done more harm than good.
Skimpledawg: I was almost going to ask; what's the meaning of this rubbish
Chelsea don dey confused, they’ll still jonze as usual, they should better channel their energy on Lukaku, between him, Halland and Kane, he seems the cheapest and easiest to land.
hensben: Nothing wrong with Christianity, it’s the way it’s being practiced. Christianity is an act of knowing and communicating with God through Jesus Christ. How do you know and communicate with God? - By studying the scriptures daily - By being prayerful - By doing what is right. Now let me elaborate on the third point which is doing what is right. Since we are not perfect in the sight of God due to the fall of Man(because He said according to scripture that our imperfection is like a filthy rag) this is why God recognized the government on a societal scale of life, He called them the god on earth. The government are to create a system to checkmate and curtail human excesses which in return help to reduce our wrong doings.
Number 1 and 2 points are to guide our inner man.
Christianity is a relationship with God through Christ. The act of practicing it among the people where there is a head make christianity become a religion. But unfortunately people are being taking advantage of in Nigeria due to their state of mind; they lack confidence due to the environment, most people goes to church looking for miracle and breakthrough, whereas we are supposed to go to church because we love God and want to know Him more. Why I bring in the government to make my point is because of what is happening in Nigeria today, the government failed the people so “men of God” took advantage of the situation involuntarily.
I don’t condemn Christianity because I’m a Christian, I only condemned and will keep condemning the frauds and criminals parading as pastors in Nigeria.
I’ll keep trolling the gullible followers who are always quick to use Government as backup point whenever their god of man is called out.
99.297% Pastors in Nigeria are businessmen and criminals using Christianity to cash out.
It’s a fact! A fact, and will continue being a fact.
Whenever they talk of how fraudulent Nigerian pastors are, their worshipers will start discussing the government.
They’ll never focus on the topic, but will always use the Government to cover the frauds parading as pastors in Nigeria.
We’ve long agreed that the Government Na fraud and thieves, why not agree that 99.397% of Nigerian pastors are frauds.
Stop reminding us about the Government whenever we call out the fraudulent activities of your pastors, we know say Government Na thieves, no need to remind us, focus on the pastor topic.
Ibime: When I saw Jonathan god son bidding over $100m for PHCN DISCO in South East during PHCN privatisation, I knew Jonathan is a billionaire. Add the hundreds of millions being attributed to Deizani and the fact one of Deizanis fixers is holding $250m (the one who abandoned his properties in New York and living on a Yacht), then their main benefactor GEJ must have hammered to pieces
BlueMann: A lot of his problems boil down to his physique. His C.G is too high due to his height and weight, and that's why he finds it hard to bully defenders (or easily gets held off). I actually thought I noticed some slight improvements in his holdup play, but it's still an issue, also due to his physique.
Hr needs to improve on his aerial prowess too. With his height, he should he doing better aerially. Again, the physique comes into play here.
If he can bulk up, he will improve significantly.
Abraham is good, Na too much expectations dey kill some people.
Some even had the guts to compare him to Harvertz as a top9.
schurley: Boss man I don't mean it that way, just saying if we can land Haaland, Kane, Lukaku this summer...then we can manage wait to get our top target next summer....instead of wasting Money on fringe hit or miss players.
Harvertz is naturally not a striker, he’s slow and sluggish, zero speed, not physical, i don’t see him doing well for us, especially as a false 9.
Ibime: From the way Diezani is handling some hundreds of millions and another of Jonathan young boy who was in the hundred million range in his early thirties, I don't think Jonathan will be far off. Also forgot Tinubu
