In my opinion, everything has to be done with wisdom.

Mr president needs to be strategic in his fight against corruption or his party people will sabotage his efforts. First you get back stolen funds from the past administration, use the money for major reforms that would benefit the masses. When you have the masses support then you can begin to look to fight corruption in your party.

If He fights everyone at the same time, both parties will gang up and frustrate him. I am sure He learnt from his Military days that you have to pick your battles wisely.

Have we considered the fact hiring competent individuals takes due process which takes time. If their resumes don't match up there would be a group of people with their opinion. The country has been mismanaged for years. Would it hurt to wait 6 months if we are going to get it right??

I am from idemili LG which comprises towns where the python is the recognized totem. I do not condone the practise or support it but I'd like to correct some misconceptions.

1. Not all snakes are revered in Idemili. Only the python (eke) is.
2. The python is the people's totem and not a god. It is not worshipped but revered and believed to be a protector/guardian.
3. The snakes come and go freely like the OP observed, even in my own village/family home, and I believe this largely because pythons are non venomous snakes and secondly, they have come to exist peacefully over so many years with people of the area so neither the python nor the people regard each other as a threat.

In a way, culture has helped to preserve nature. By not killing these animals we dont offset the balance of nature. If only its the same of other wildlife which are considered endangered today(Elephant,Rhino, Tiger etc) As for religion, thats for God to judge. Last time i checked, He doesnt blog.

Its not who bought the planes that matter. Its evaluating how many planes you need to run the country and selling off surplus. Any right minded government can see this. Did we need to keep 9 jets?? Some local commercial carriers dont have that many in their fleet.

Are you say it is okay to commit a crime as long as you give back to the society? We have alot of stealing is not corruption scholars in Nigeria.

With the reduction in crude oil price by almost 50% in the last 10 months, not sure we would be paying more than N120 without subsidy.

There should be plans to refine locally which should further reduce the price of petroleum products

Poorer countries pay this. We produce 2.2 million barrels per day, rich countries like Russia US, China, India UK Brazil that produces up to 5 times more oil than we do pay this. Poorer countries like Haiti Angola Gabon also pay this. Even poorer and remote villages in Nigeria, burutu Nembe, mambila pay 200 plus for a liter. So what is the problem with it all gone? I'm 2012, sanusi and Iwealla with Allison went round TV stations explaining the steps to fully deregulate the downstream sector, no one listened. 65 Naira or nothing was the chant. I remember when Sanusi said the best way to put a fire out is to eliminate the source of the fire.

It was shame that GEJ and his ministers did not have the political tenacity to completely do way with this fire. Buhari seems to have it. He will remove it, fuel will sell at 180-220 per liter[/b]
