It was on that fateful friday when the waec board annouced the result will be fully accesible on their website next 24hours,
uhmmmm, it was a great fear indeed for me many thoughts started entering my mind like do u think you can pass that physics with what you wrote? Another be lyk do u think they will release ur result sha.
Behold on saturday the long waited waec was released on the board website exactly 4.00pm i called my papa make him get me scratch card when he dey come. Na hin i pick my bible dey go church mah go pray over result, the church service was suppose to hold 5.00pm but i got there 4.30pm as the pastor sight me from afar like this i could see the look on his face be like "weitin do this guy today he never come rivaval since we don start" buh weitin concern me sha. na me knw weitin dy worry me for mind, i con sit down at one angle reading my bible till other church members go come. The day was church_phone_free_day i could see it was that day i obeyed the church acronym- Switch off your phone while in church. As i dey sit down continue reading bible na hin i sight one guy like this entering church 4.40pm (i don knw for my mind say chai, this guy no wan fail waec too he cun dy walk like angel) for the 2nd time the pastor be like "is everything alright abi weitin dey do this guys?" mtcheeeew, weitin concern me sha my own na make pastor pray make we commot. As i still dy look this guy na hin i sight him kneeling down and praying. Pass me by not o'lord na hin i con kneel down dey pray also make this guy no carry exam blessings finish. As 5.00pm clock sharp people dan many for church na hin service starts gbam. As pastor dictate one prayer like this na me go pick in jesus name first, people con dey wonder weitin dey do this boy today? Buh na me knw weitin dey my mind sha.

Na hin the pastor con say The lord said he wants to bless only one person here. Yeeeeh mogbe, na hin dis guy eyes&my own eyes con meet each other and we be like shey na you or me? One thing con come my mind say how will it be me wen all this people av been coming all this day and i just dey come today. Chai, i sha dey use one mind pray sha. 6.30sharp we dan close for church i dey go home mah go check my result. As i dey go smoothly na hin people just dey watch me for street say weitin do dosmay today? He carry bible go church? As i stl dey move jejeli na hin one guy like this just call me "dosmay, come play PES now" Mtcheeeeew, pes ko chess ni, so na u the devil wan use for me? I cast u away IJN jare.

As i dey go i con dey watch road finifini make car/bike no come jam me, make he no be like he was hit by a vehicle the day he passed his result, na hin i con start they pave way for ordinary bicycle. I thank GOD i got home safely, behold the scratch card is already waiting for me. Choi, i enta room mah go take my exam details na hin i con lock my room door and start confirm prayers again. Na hin one beat con come my mind and he be like

WATCH OUT FOR PART 2

STORY WRITTEN BY MIKE INIOLUWA OLADELE.
You are happy. It's your first lecture day. Let's just say it's your first day. Your angry phone alarm wakes you up by 6:30am. You jump up from your bed and realize that three of your roommates are already up. You're afraid you're late already. As you think about what you are going to cook for breakfast, one of your roommates says bye and leaves the room. The time is 6:45am. You forget food and rush to the bathroom. You meet a queue. A queue! This is the first time you will meet a queue in Awo Hall bathroom. You wait and pray these are not the type of people that wash their sins away in the bathroom. Just then, a guy walks in and stands in the middle of the bathroom and wants to start bathing, without waiting for those in the bathtubs to finish. Where do people like this come from? You are annoyed and tell him to behave himself. He grunts like Pumbaa and stands down. Then one of those baptizing themselves in the bathroom finishes and you all hustle to enter. You laugh as you slip in. You didn't go to Fego for nothing. You wash yourself and get out in a hurry. You wonder how people manage to stay in this stinking bathroom for long. On getting to your room, another roommate is done and he takes his leave. You dress hurriedly and make to get out but your stomach refuses to go with you. Instead, it stays back on the bed with folded arms, sulking like a nursery school kid. It wants to be filled up. You sigh. You land on your bed and quickly make something that does not require cooking. You gulp it down your throat and drag your stomach out of the room. You are sure you are late now. The time is 7:20am. Your first lecture is starting by 8am. You hurry down the raid and pass in front of 1000 Seaters Lecture Theatre. Your destination is Law Room 209. You don't know the place but that's not a problem. You have learnt the art of asking questions. 7:30am. Still on your way. Then you see that your roommate that left the room before 7am walking about like a lost chick. 'Michael, please where is 1000 Seaters, I don't know where they are doing CHM 101,' he asks once he sees you. You try not to laugh as you show him where he is going behind him. He pats you on the back and disappears. You can't believe that he has been roaming about the streets of OAU since morning. Then you remember what one man once told you in Amphi Theatre: 'In OAU, don't only work hard, work smart.' You get to Faculty of Law and ask for Room 209. You are shown quickly and you climb the steps in a hurry. You get there and you realize that the place is a small place like that. You are not even late yet. Your enter and sit on the fourth row of seats. The time is now 7:45am. You open Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and keep reading. You are now where the monster wants a wife for himself. You arw reading and reading and reading...until you check your wristwatch and see that the time is now 8:30am. No lecturer in sight. You keep reading. There is a small girl beside. She is wearing a blue trouser and a vest that looks like something you wore in your secondary for sports. She is chatting on WhatsApp. The guy in front of you has his earpiece plugged in his ears. He is singing out the song he's listening to. You shake your head sadly and return to your book. 9:10am. You leave the room quickly. The lecturer has refused to come and you have another class by 9am at 1st BLT. You don't even know where 1st BLT is. You send your sister a text asking her for directions. You replies with a smiley and says she does not know the place. You are beginning to doubt her studentship. You ask few more people and you find your way. The lecture theatre is filled up with Law students who have been using it since 8am. You wait. They will soon be done, you think. You wait to for thirty minutes and ask one of those standing by the door if they will ever be through. He tells you they won't be through anytime soon. You ask about the class you have now and he shakes his head and says they have gotten permission from the school. Then he walks away. You follow suit. You don't have any class till 12pm so you just go to your department and chill. 1pm. You have had only one lecture since morning. Now you are running to Room 209 again. You have LIB 001. This is a wicked course. It is wicked because all of you in 100L are doing it. Wicked because you must do it. Wicked because you must pass it. And wicked because it does not reflect on your results! So you run...with hundreds of others to the small room called 209 that cannot accommodate a hundred if you. You are running now. You get there and meet a multitude. You are about to ask who is sharing five loaves and two fishes when you are told that the whole of Faculty of Law is filled up. You see some people still finding their way through the crowd. You give up and sit beside one of your pals. You look on with pity as girls and boys fight their way through. Finally, you are told to all go away that the class is more holding. You smile as you see the angry looks on the hustling people's face. You remember the advice again: Work smart, not just hard! With joy in your heart, you return to your hostel. Your next lecture is by 5pm and this is 2pm so you just go and sleep. You dream. In your dream, you see yourself in MTH 101 class. The teacher is asking you something about Surd and some numbers and letters that don't exist. You don't know the answer. Then the lecturer brings out a cane and tells you to lie down. You open your eyes and realize that you are lying down on your bed. The time is 4:30pm. You have a class by 5:00om. You jump up and get unto clothes. You wipe your face clean of sleep marks and run out. On your way, you check your timetable and realize that the lecture is holding at ICAN LT. This is another place that you don't know. You get to your department first and then start asking people. Most people don't know the place. The time is already 5pm. Wherever they are doing this lecture, it must have started. So you crucify pride and ask in a group chat on WhatsApp. Answers troop in. Very soon, you are at the said theatre. The door is locked. At first, you think it is as a result of your lateness. And then you check the windows and see the the place is an empty barrel. You walk away angrily. You have another class by 6pm 6:30pm You are in 1000 Seaters LT now, waiting for the lecturer taking you SEE 101. Something deep within you tells you he will not come. But you wait and wait and wait until the doormen want to close the doors. You pack your things and leave. Now you are on your way to your hostel, tired and worn out. You are remembering things now. You remember the excitement that you were feeling this morning that is no more now. You remember the guy that told you that he did not bathe this morning because he wanted to make the same class that did not later hold. You are laughing on the road and people are looking at you as though you are running mad. But you are not running mad. You are only remembering that beautiful advice: In OAU don't only work hard, work smart.
