Mrchippychappy: I don't think you understand how scarcity and demand works, go through my previous post again. You cannot teach them a lesson when you are paying a portion of the actual cost of a product in order to sell that product at a reduced price thereby giving the illusion that there's been a cost reduction. Its an unsustainable bubble that would burst sooner or later Are you implying that FG is subsidising food Come on! Tinubu would rather die than subsidise food |
Politics › Re: FG Manipulating Food Prices For Political Gains – ADC by Dotherightthing: 10:11am On Oct 28, 2025 |
Mrchippychappy: Bro that's not the case. Crashing food prices when you have insecurity issues that lead to the scarcity of food prices in the first place is not sustainable. What is basically happening here is that the FG are using the national reserves to balance out the actual price of the agricultural products so the sellers can at a rate that doesn't actually reflect the true cost of the product Nigerian middlemen are the problem. They have been hoarding food in warehouses waiting to make HUGE profit in future. Now the FG is teaching them a lesson they will NEVER forget in a longtime. Are you a middleman? |

Politics › Re: FG Begins Procurement For Port Modernisation Outside Lagos — Oyetola by Dotherightthing: 9:38am On Oct 23, 2025 |
owobokiri: The Problem is that IT COSTS MORE TO CLEAR YOUR GOODS in other ports outside Lagos.
This is the main problem since the end of the war. It costs more to clear in Calabar or Onne. I mean tye freight charges.
Deu to federal government levies and charges, it is cheaper for importers to land their goods in Lagos.
These are inbuilt federal government maritime policies post civil war that were dubiously deployed to tighten the grip on the Eastern ports. Unfortunately, those anti business policies have continued to add to the costs of doing business in these areas till these days..
If you have shipped from China, you would have noticed that most foreign shippers will be pratically begging you to use Lagos ports. This is because the federal government has used administrative measures to make it easier and cheaper for these ships to land in Lagos..
I am not deluded. I am a realistic person.. I don't think that this very government that is alarmingly pro Lagos/Southwest will be the one to free eastern ports. That will happen someday but certainly not under the the administration of the most tribal president in Nigerias history.. So you guys should watch how you beleive whatever that was written up there... Tinubu will do anything to take away the excuse ppeeeggs always give for wanting to be/remain in Lagos. Let's see what excuse you will give again. Lagos MUST be decongested. |
