Homicide detectives of the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, Yaba, have arrested an undergraduate of the Redeemers University, Ogun State, in connection with the brutal murder of a suspected gay banker, Adindu Ohamara.

According to sources, the banker was on April 9, found in a pool of his blood in his room, having been stabbed severally by the suspect.

Six persons were thereafter arrested in connection with the crime by detectives from the Homicide Unit of the State Criminal Investigations Department ,SCID,in Panti, Lagos State.

Some of the persons picked-up by the Police included, a sister of the deceased, Flora who regained her freedom on Wednesday.

DailyPost has gathered that detectives finally picked up the male student from the Redeemers University, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun state who is now termed the prime suspect.

According to our sources, the prime suspect, name withheld, initially denied knowing the deceased while being drilled by Police detectives, but later admitted knowing the deceased. He however gave an alibi that he was reading with some of his colleagues at the university premises at the time of the murder.



The Police thereafter visited the university where the school authorities were said to have told them that the student was not anywhere near their premises at that material time.

The father of the suspect also told Police detectives that his son got home around 10p.m that day.

Late Ohamara, in his 30s, resides in a three-bedroom flat at 26 Obayan Street, Akoka with his elder sister, Flora and one Collins, an undergraduate of the University of Lagos and friend of the deceased who was squatting with them.

It was learnt that on the day Ohamara was killed, he had returned home from office with a stranger with whom he was suspected to have had a gay relationship with.

According to the security guard at the gate, Ohamara and the stranger arrived home in the deceased’s car.

It was also learnt that some of the persons earlier arrested in connection with the murder have identified the undergraduate as the stranger who returned home with Ohamara that night and disappeared before the severely-stabbed banker was discovered.

There is also the issue of age difference, D’banj will be 33 in June but Genevieve is already 34. She is said to playing the card of ‘age is just a number’ but D’banj is still taking his time, as the handsome groom.

Newspapers in Madrid on Thursday morning proclaimed the end of the road for Barcelona's imperious era after Bayern Munich completed a ruthless 7-0 aggregate Champions League semi-final victory at the Camp Nou.

Everton striker, Victor Anichebe, has put his international career with Nigeria on hold to “manage his body accordingly”. Lagos-born Anichebe, 25, has said that for the time being, he does not want to be considered for Nigeria. He had been tipped for a return to the Nigerian squad for June’s World Cup qualifiers and Confederations Cup, replacing the injured Emmanuel Emenike.

“The best thing for me at the moment is to focus on club football,” he said. “I don’t blame anyone for this nor do I have any issues with anybody from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) or Stephen Keshi our coach.” Anichebe has been plagued by injuries over the past few years, including a groin problem on his last appearance for Nigeria in a 2–0 win over Madagascar in 2011. He insists he is proud to play for his country, but for the moment, his Premier League side, Everton, is his priority.

“Without club football there is no international football and everyone at Everton was with me every step of the way during my injuries and rehabilitation and so, I owe it to the club to manage myself correctly,” he explained. “I did’t feel that the Nigerian federation was there for me then in the same manner, which was especially disappointing given that I got the injury representing my country. But I don’t blame anyone for this nor do I have any issues with anybody “Stephen Keshi, our coach, has done a fantastic job and he is building a team that Nigerians can be proud of,” he said.
