Early this year reports came in that Davido sacked Kamal Ajiboye as his new manger tending to manage himself.

Not long after that the DMW boss later appointed Ayo George as his new manager on the 19th of January.

Now reports are coming in to let us know that Asa Asika has returned as Davido’s manager Asa Asika was Davido’s manager for four years before he was sacked by the singer for financial misappropriations in December 2012.

The Kamal Ajiboye took over as Davido’s manager in January 2013. He managed Davido until December 2016 when he had a fallout with the singer.

The Delta State Government on Sunday distanced the state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, from an online report linking him with a report that a serving governor from the South- South geopolitical zone was defrauded of $10m by a girlfriend.

The money, it was reported, was part of the bailout given to the state by the Federal Government to offset workers’ salaries but most of the workers are still being owed. The state Commissioner for Information, Patrick Ukah, in a statement on behalf of the government, stressed that there was no iota of truth in the story that it was Okowa who lost $10m to a girlfriend.

A report on Saturday quoted
sources in the EFCC that a serving governor in the South-South zone allegedly diverted $10m from the bailout for his state. The report, which did not actually specify the name of the governor, stated that the governor was already under probe by the EFCC after $10m was allegedly hijacked by his America-based mistress. However, a follow-up report by an online medium accused Okowa as the one defrauded of the sum.

Ukah stated, “We are appalled by the attempt to link Governor Okowa with the story by online media. We find it ridiculously tasteless and mischievous. This can only be part of the unrelenting campaign of calumny and the ceaseless peddling of pernicious propaganda against the person and the office of the Delta State Governor.

“For the record, the state government has several times in the past given account of how the bailout the state got from the Federal Government was used. We will not repeat ourselves here. “Governor Okowa is a responsible family man and a well respected public figure.

“His preoccupation has been and continues to be how to deliver on his promised S.M.A.R.T agenda to the good people of Delta State since he came to office.

And he has received applause and commendations from far and near for being so focused and unrelenting in the pursuit of his vision for the state.” The statement warned that if “those who are bent on carrying out their devious and dubious campaign of calumny against the governor refuse to stop this infamous trade of theirs, we reserve the right to take any action deemed appropriate to seek redress.”

Nigerian novelist, Buchi Emecheta, passed away on Wednesday, 25th day of January 2016 at the age of 72 in London.

Emecheta who was born in Lagos on 21 July 1944 and have published more than 20 books throughout her career with her notable literary works on Second class citizen, Joy of Motherhood, Efuru and The Bride Price.

Now signing another artiste to DMW, is it a right decision for Davido to make or not? (this question is thrown to you). To me signing a new act is actually a bad decision and its a decision made out of no thinking.

Why would signing Yonda to DMW be such a bad idea? Firstly, looking at the DMW, how many artistes are being housed there? Count with me biko; Mayorkun, Dremo, Ichaba, Danagog, Lola Rae and not forgetting Dammy Krane who is allegedly on a partnership deal with the music imprint. That brings the total number of artistes on the label up to seven (7).

Now the biggest question to ask is are any of these artistes breaking bounds, are any of them doing anything worthy of applause? Apart from Dremo who hit the street with his Panda cover and Mayorkun with his Eleko single which made it the biggest hit to come out of DMW since last year up till date and we can also praise Lola Rae for the Biko single tho not yet signed to the label when the song was released; which one of them has broken any bounds again. Is Davido bitting more than he can chew? (Another Big Question For You). His random act of signing new acts to the label is out of sense and out of thought and to me seems like a gamble.

To me you sign artistes or acts as you may call them so as help them to a level at which they would also know they are already dependent.
Look at Badoo (Olamide) for example, that man was able to build and beat his chest for two of all his artistes signed to the label; talking about Lil Kesh who is already floating his own label and Adekunle Gold or should i say Wizkid who signed Mr Eazi to Starboy Records; I don't have to say to much about Eazi cos you know if i say Life Is Eazi, you say Zagadat. LOL

On the other hand, Davido hasn't fully succeeded in breeding these artistes to a great level and he is still reaching out for more. Confusion!

Davido, this is a music business not a charity show, why sign new acts when the older acts hardly actualizes something for you. Its just like having a full plate of rice and still asking for more knowing fully well it would wreck after addition of the rice.

Davido is at a very crucial state of his career where what he does this days would determine if it would wreck or appreciate cos with the rants on social media it shows he isn't happy with Sony Music and might have to break ties if things get intense (going back to the basics aint easy). So therefore, Davido needs a convincing return to the game for his name and prestige.

All this words in these article cannot break the deal with Yonda cos the deal is already done and there's no going back, so all Davido needs to do is get ready for his boys and for sure his first lady i.e spend less buying cars,houses and spend much time and money on these acts.

Just like a boss said 'Signing Yonda is much more work for Davido and he seems ill-prepared for it.

NANS Give Ajimobi Ultimatum To Reopen Lautech The National Association of Nigerian Students has issued a one week ultimatum within which the Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, should reopen Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Ogbomosho or face a mass protest.

The association also gave the Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Prof. Francis Otunta, seven daysultimatum to resign from office for alleged gross incompetence and maladministration.

The President of NANS, Chinonso Obasi, who issued the threats during a press briefing on the state of the nation held in Abuja on Friday, said NANS would “relocate its Headquarters to Government House in Ibadan and Umudike.”

He decried the nonchalant attitude of governor Ajimobi towards the closure of LAUTECH for the past eight months, without considering its effects on the students.

He said, “NANS chides the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi over the neglect of LAUTECH, Ogbomosho which has been under lock and key for almost eight months.

We see his recent utterances that went viral on the social media during the students peaceful protest to Agodi Government House as shameful, uncivil and belittling the status of an Executive Governor.

The governor is hereby issued with a seven-day ultimatum to reopen LAUTECH or face mass protest. “Similarly, ÑANS calls on the Vice Chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike to resign within seven days for gross incompetence and maladministration.

Failure to heed this patriotic call would be met with serious resistance as we shall not hesitate to occupy and chase him out of the university.”

Rapper, Ikechukwu’s former fiancee Sarah Ofili has reacted to the former’s recent allegations that she was cheating on him with his friend, Terry the Rapman.

Killz, as Ikechukwu is fondly called, was on a radio show last week where he accused After Killz (as he’s called by fans) was on a radio show and suggested that Sarah had been cheating on him with Terry tha Rapman, all hell broke loose on social media with Terry and Joy Madaki (his sister who’s Sarah’s best friend) both taking shots at Ikechukwu.

Two graduating students of the University of Lagos have recorded 5.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average, CGPA, in 2015/2016 academic session, just like Ayodele Dada recorded same feat in the previous year.

Rahamon Bello, the Vice- Chancellor (V-C) of the institution, who gave the hint during the 2016/2017 matriculation on Friday, named the two female students as Taiwo Bankole and Ajoke Omotuyi.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the V-C had, during the 2014/2015 convocation, described 5.00 CGPA as ‘a perfect score’.
According to Mr. Bello, both students are from the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Science and the Department of Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, respectively. “Both students, females, had also posted a `perfect score’ of 5.00 CGPA, thus matching the record set by Dada in 2014/2015 academic session,’’ he said. The V-C stressed that such feats were achievable by a dint of hard work and not a myth.

“All it requires is to be focused, disciplined and consistent,’’ the don said.
Giving a breakdown of the number of the
matriculating students, the V-C said that 7,882 students, representing 18.69 per cent, met the admissions criteria after a thorough screening.

He explained that 38,140 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) applicants and 4,310 direct entries, totaling 42, 440 applicants, began the selection process. He said that out of the figure, 25,883 candidates scored 200 and above at the UTME.
Accordingly, 19,732 presented themselves for screening.

“Those offered provisional admissions were 6,506 in the UTME category and 2,238 in the direct entry category, totaling 8,744. “Today, after a thorough screening exercise, there are 7,882 of you, representing 18.69 per cent of the total number of applicants (UTME and Direct), who have fully scaled the registration procedure. “You will from this day, become bona-fide students of the University of Lagos,’’ Bello said.

He told the matriculating students that gaining admission into the 54-year-old institution was not only noble, but also glorious. The V-C added that completing the matriculation process was not the end of their journey to obtain tertiary education. “It is the first step of a journey that will determine your future.

“It, therefore, requires you all to be determined, diligent, focus and resilient. “You must show the zeal to acquire academic excellence for which this university is reputed. “Shun cultism, indecent and immoral behaviours and other vices that can mar or abruptly end your sojourn here; as all forms of misconduct and misbehaviours will not be condoned,’’ Bello warned.

He urged the students to work hard to distinguish themselves in their academics as the university had a motivational package for scholars.

NAN reports that the high point of the event was a breakfast meeting between the management of the university and the students.

The university registrar, thereafter, administered the matriculation oath on the students on faculty basis. The students had early in the week, taken on a familiarisation tour of the university as part of the orientation.
