Hello VO,
I am a LPR and i want to visit Nigeria to get married to my fiancee so i can begin the process of her joining me with our son. Now my question is this: I heard that it is only ikoyi registry marriage certificate that is recognized by the US consulate, how true is this? Thank you.

Good day to you, I just got a checklist from NVC indicating some documents to be submitted documents should be submitted. However the following was emphasized;
"Do NOT send these documents to NVC. We will schedule your visa interview without
having reviewed these documents. Instead, give all requested documents to the visa
applicant, who should give them to the consular officer during the visa interview. Failure
to submit the requested documents at the time of the visa interview can delay this case".
My question now is this, should I still expect a case completed letter before the interview is schedule? Also is it likely I get an interview this year? Thanks for your usual understanding.

Good day to you. I was later contacted via mail and I have passed through the CEAC, made necessary payment, submitted AOF and required financial evidence. The last document that has been required of me as at date is PCC, which i have submitted close to 2 months now and I have not gotten any response ever since. I will like to know the likely cause of the delay as the whole process is almost a year after i got the first mail with steps and guidelines for further proceeds. Please enlighten me.

I have a pending petition with priority date of 4th of Oct 2010 in a F1 category . My priority date has become current and I have still not receive any further instruction after payment reciept, affidavit of support and all other required form has been submitted.
What is likely to be the cause of delay?

Visa Officer,
I have a pending F1 petition which was filed on my mum who was a LPR as at when filed and now a citizen. Nvc has been updated with the new development but i will like to know if these will speed up the petition.
I will also like to know the priority date wich is been treated at the moment as mine is 040ct2010 with country of chargeability as nigeria.
