California recently agreed to allow manufacturers to test self-driving cars on public roads—a sign that we’re on track to have driverless cars transport humans by the 2030s, as some automakers expect. If those autonomous cars do succeed in eliminating human error (and car accidents along with it),there could be a push to get the more dangerous human-controlled vehicles off the road.

'People may outlaw driving cars because it's too dangerous,' Tesla CEO Elon Musk said during a 2015 tech conference. 'You can't have a person driving a 2-ton deathmachine.

Gas-powered cars

As temperatures around the globe inch up, world leaders are cracking down on the second largest source of climate change: fossil fuels used in transportation, which account formore than halfof a typical household’s carbon dioxide emissions.

Countries including the United Kingdom, France, China, and India have promised to shift from gas- and diesel-powered cars to electric vehicles by 2050 (or earlier, depending on the country), rewarding ownersof electric-powered vehicles in the meantime.

At least eight states have made their own goals to sell only zero-emissions vehicles over the next 35 years, and the federal U.S. government could follow the trend.

BAHA— A 29-year-old Saudi man was in for the shock of his life when his wife, whom he loved so much, approached the court for a divorce.
The estranged husband did not know why his wife would want divorce from him even though he did everything possible for her, but she was adamant in her demand.

She admitted that her husband had never denied anything to her but she insisted on leaving him because he preferred her over his own mother.

"I can never trust a man who does everything for his wife while he denies even a small favor to his mother," she told the judge.

Neither the husband nor wife was identified. The husband, who was in a deep shock, told the judge that he did not want to leave his wife and that he would do everything to keep her but she bluntly rejected the offer.

The woman admitted that her husband had spent a lot of money on her, taking her on foreign trips and buying her everything she wanted, but said she did not want to continue her life with him.

"A man who is not good to his own mother cannot be trusted. He may turn his back on me anytime in the future," she said.

The surprised husband asked her, "Didn't I abandon my own family for you?"
She replied, "Yes, and this is the very reason I want divorce from you."

The woman told the judge that everything her husband said in the court was correct but she was determined to leave him because he preferred her over his family members, including his mother.

She told the judge that she could not wait until the day her husband would abandon her the same way he had abandoned his mother.
The woman returned the dowry her husband had given her and the judge granted the divorce.

A judicial source praised the woman for her noble stand and said she was right to ask for divorce since the husband placed her above his own mother.

He said the woman thought that a man who would leave his own mother for another woman could never be trusted.
The source said some men believed that blindly obeying their wives and doing everything for them was the way to win perpetual love.

"This is not correct. A man must put his family, especially his mother, above everything else," he said.

He said his wife was not happy because he did more favors to her than to the woman who gave him birth, brought him up and sacrificed her own life for his happiness.

You are very correct. And all of them claim that their drugs cure. None treats. It makes the section boring and unattractive to visitors.

I think either will do; depending on your area of interest. As an IT support Engineer; I'd say a Cisco centered Network engineer/Admin job will give you some exposure to Microsoft's Server infrastructure. However a Microsoft System Admin/Support role may not give you any exposure to core network devices like Switches and Routers. There are lots of opportunities for Microsoft roles because almost every medium/large organisation will have an instance of Microsoft's Server operating system running. The down side is that there are also lots of competition as well. There are too many Microsoft certified professionals as compared to Cisco.
To have the advantage in the job market, my advice to you is that you need both Certs to get ahead. You can't do one and run away from the other. To achieve this, there are lots of videos that cover the full MCSE (Server Infrastructure curriculum) and Cisco's CCNA curriculum. I have tonnes of them. You can self study rather than pay 100k+ to the likes of NIIT.

I was returning from church this evening in the company of my pastor. We parked in front of a popular clinic owned by a pharmaceutical company at Rumuomasi.

He asked how the clinic make their money. When I asked his reason for the question, he said they don't admit. Patients over night. I quickly explain to him.

Perhaps there are some here who might not know the difference. Please permit me to share

Clinic

A clinic is a place where outpatients are provided medical treatment, checkup or advice for their health. Clinic was derived from the Greek word ‘Klinein’, meaning to ‘slope, lean or recline’. An outpatient means they go to a clinic for diagnosis, treatment, or therapy and then leave without staying all night.

It is a health care center where you receive routine preventative care when you are healthy or visit your Doctor/Primary Care Provider when you are sick. A clinic is smaller than a hospital where patients are less sick and do not stay overnight.

Some reasons to go to a clinic or Doctor’s office to see your Primary Care Provider/Doctor are:

Hospital

It is a health care organization, which provides patients with treatment by expert staff and equipment. Hospital was derived from the Latin word ‘hospes’ or ‘hospitalis’, meaning ‘hospitable’. It is largely managed by professional physicians, surgeons and nurses. It is a 24 hour health center where patients get admitted for treatment of various diseases.

Two types of patients can be treated in the hospital: Outpatients and inpatients. Outpatients are the one who leave without staying all night; while inpatients are admitted and stay overnight or for several days, weeks or months.

Your Doctor /Primary Care Provider will refer you to the Specialist or Hospital. If it is an Emergency, go directly to the hospital.
You may need to go to a Hospital for some of the following health issues:

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday signed
six bills that have earlier been passed by the
National Assembly into law.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on
National Assembly Matters (Senate), Ita Enang,
disclosed this to State House Correspondents
after the President signed the bills into law at the
Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to Enang, the bills signed into law
include the Compulsory Treatment and Care for
Victims of Gunshot Act, 2017 and Anti-Torture
Act, 2017.

He explained that the Compulsory Treatment
and Care for Victims of Gunshot Act, 2017
provided for the compulsory treatment and care
for victims of gunshots and for related matters.

He said, “Specifically, the Act stipulates that a
person with a gunshot wound shall be received for immediate and adequate treatment by any
hospital in Nigeria with or without initial
monetary deposit.

“Furthermore, a person with a gunshot wound shall not be subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment or torture by any person or authority, including the police and other security
agencies.

“Anti-Torture Act, 2017 makes comprehensive provisions for penalising the acts of torture and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment, and prescribes penalties for the
commission of such acts.”

The presidential aide added that Buhari assented to the Niger Delta Development Commission (Establishment) Amendment Act,
2017. He explained that the Act included the gas producing and gas processing companies in the
list of agencies that were contributing to the NDDC in addition to the oil companies in a bid to increasing the funding of the commission for effective discharge of its duties.

“Previously, the NDDC Acts excluded the gas
companies. The Act makes it explicit that the Gas
companies have to be included.

“This is to diversify the sources of funding for the
NDDC for the economic wellbeing of the region,”
he said.

Nigerians could face more days of fuel scarcity due to the inability of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to supply products to private depots.

Many depot owners who spoke with The Guardian yesterday complained they were not getting allocations from the NNPC, making it difficult for them to release products to retail stations.

The owners, who used to import 65 per cent of products before the NNPC assumed the role of sole importer, said they would only bring in supplies if the Federal Government resumed the payment of subsidy.

The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association (DAPMA) members noted that the landing cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in Nigeria, based on the current exchange rate of N306, is about N170 per litre, stressing they must resort to subsidy, a policy already jettisoned by the Federal Government.

The Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of NNPC, Ndu Ughamadu, however, insisted the corporation has imported more than enough products to meet national demand.

He said: “The depot owners are not importing products and they now depend on NNPC. The truth is that the corporation would have to give priority to its depots all over the country before considering private depots. You are aware that we also have our retail stations to supply.”

He assured the nation of NNPC’s commitment to importation, adding: “NNPC is on top of the situation and we believe that queues will be over in the next few days.”

Speaking with The Guardian yesterday, DAPMA Executive Secretary, Olufemi Adewole, said there were no products in members’ tanks. “If the products are offshore, then surely, they cannot be considered to be available to Nigerians,” he said.

On why the association stopped the importation of petroleum products, Adewole said: “We all know that we presently run a fixed price regime of N145 per litre for petrol. Without any recourse to subsidy claims, however, we have no control on the international price of crude oil. Current import price of petrol is about N170 per litre. NNPC, which absorbs the attendant subsidy on behalf of the Federal Government, is the importer of last resort.
“We understand that NNPC meets this demand largely through its Direct Sales Direct Purchase (DSDP) framework.

However, due to price challenges on the DSDP platform, some participants in the scheme failed to meet their supply quota of refined petroleum product, especially petrol, to NNPC.

This is the main reason for this scarcity.
“Some people have blamed marketers for hoarding products. Unfortunately, this is so far from the truth. Hoarding is regarded as economic sabotage and we assure all Nigerians that our members are not involved in such illicit acts.”

The Deputy Manager, Communications, Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), George Ene-Ita, told The Guardian that his agency has so far accosted over 20 percent of filling stations across the country for various offences during the scarcity. “We have been in the field to ensure there is no hoarding by retailers. The idea is not to shut down any filling stations but to ensure that products of any erring retailers are distributed free to consumers,” he said.

The NNPC is currently defraying about N1.523 billion, which is N26 per litre on 52 million litres of petrol Nigerians consume daily. The Guardian learnt from industry sources yesterday in Abuja that this has been the practice for the past two months.

Mr. Ndu Nghamadu, said daily consumption has risen above the 34 million per day displayed in the PPPRA template in 2016. He explained that the high figure might have been caused by hoarding and diversion.
Meanwhile, industry experts have faulted the claim by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo that the NNPC bears the brunt of the current subsidy.

A former Special Adviser to General Abdulsalami Abubakar and former Vice Chairman of the Oil and Gas Sector Reform Implementation Committee (OGIC), Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, said: “Part of the crisis in the energy sector is for the country to define who owns the NNPC. Is it owned by the Federal Government or the federation of Nigeria? When the Vice President said it is the NNPC that is paying the subsidy, it is confusing. As far as I know, the NNPC is supposed to be owned by the federation of Nigeria and not the Federal Government of Nigeria.”

He added: “In 1998, when I was Special Adviser to General Abdulsalami Abubakar, we developed a policy that sought to break the monopoly of the NNPC in the supply of fuel to the country. That policy culminated in the emergence of the private sector into the system. But when the Buhari administration arrived, it came with the belief that building strong personalities is better than building strong institutions. A deliberate policy was put in place that ensured the NNPC became a monopoly. In as much as the current system is maintained, Nigeria will never get out of the present fuel crisis.”

On his part, the Director of Emerald Energy Institute, University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Wumi Iledare, identified exchange rate parity, importation of petroleum products and non-appointment of energy experts to advise President Buhari as major reasons the crisis in the downstream sector of the petroleum industry might not disappear soon.

Also known as the pac-man illusion, if you stare at the center cross for a couple seconds you will begin to perceive a green disco going around the circle of magenta discs. After a few more seconds the magenta discs will gradually begin to fade away until all you see is a green disc going in a circle around the cross (if you’re having trouble seeing this optical illusion move closer to the screen).

Also known as the Ebbinghaus Illusion, there is still a debate in psychological circles as to the exact mechanism and implication of this effect. Essentially, the orange circle on the left appears to be smaller than the one on the right although in reality they are the same size.

12 Hering Illusion

Although the two red lines seem to be bowed outwards they are perfectly straight and parallel. This optical illusion is attributed to Ewald Hering, a German physiologist who believed that the distortion was derived from the mind overestimating the angles at the points of intersection.

13 Zöllner Illusion

This optical illusion was named after Johann Karl Friedrich Zöllner and consists of parallel lines that appear to be diagonal. You may need a ruler for this one.
