First ever successful kidney transplant in South East took place yesterday at FMC Umuahia (Photos)

Yesterday, a record was broken, when the first ever successful kidney transplant in the South Eastern part of Nigeria took place at Federal Medical Center Umuahia.

Here’s what an excited Facebook user whose brother-in-law was part of the doctors wrote;

While we were talking about Jerusalem and Commissioner for Happiness, the first ever kidney transplantation in Southeast Nigeria was going on at FMC UMUAHIA Abia State.

Alas, the urine has flown, after 3 years of complete cessation. THIS IS HISTORY. I am really excited and proud my brother-in-law was part of it. Dr Chime Ichi kwala ochi taa?

Politics / A Letter To Imo Citizens As Rochas Appoints Sister As Commissioner For Happiness by DRIFTyKING(m): 7:27pm On Dec 06, 2017
US based Nigerian lady from Imo state, Chika that is totally finding it hard to comprehend why her governor would appoint her sister as commissioner for happiness has written a letter to Imo citizens.

We found it interesting, you might too..

Read below…

Goodmorning Imolites.

My name is Chika Korie and I am a native of Imo state residing in the United States. I woke up yesterday to the news that our Governor Rochas Okorochas has appointed her sister as commissioner for happiness and couples’ fulfillment.

Please my good people, I have been scratching my head all day trying
to get the hang of this ‘happiness and couples fulfillment’ thing, could anyone who knows what it means
kindly help me out here, my scalp is already bleeding from my constant scratching. Everyone is laughing about this, but it doesn’t evoke laughter, it evokes sadness.

Commissioner for happiness, I thought that the workers and pensioners have to be paid first, have
money in their pockets to be happy? This is a mindboggling disappointment from Okorocha and the
disappointment is not just the fact that he appointed his sister, it is the senseless nature of the portfolio
he created and appointed her to manage.

The worse is, if Imolites and the whole Nigeria are complaining, Okorocha does not give a flying Bleep, what kind of human person is this? How is his sister going to make people owed months of salary arrears happy?

The tension generated by the thoughtless statues he erected in Owerri has not diminished, yet he had
the guts to appoint his sister of the full blood a commissioner for a concocted and useless political post.

To show how desperate he was, he had to cook up or manufacture this very abysmal post –
Commissioner for happiness, under which ministry? Is she going to procure viagra and lubricants for Imo couples? What exactly will be her portfolio and functions? It would have been better he made her
Commissioner for Statues. I would really appreciate and thank anyone who can explain to me the job
description of this woman, I am perplexed.

Everything about this appointment is wrong, it is nepotism of the crudest form. The mere fact that he is
governor already opens doors for his family members. Honestly, the statues and this present appointment furor are things only a person of unsound mind can do, I honestly think that Okorocha needs his head examined. Imo state does not deserve this gratuitous insult, this high level of ridicule, something has to give, urgently too. I’m crying for my state Imo.

In that Nigeria, I do not know of any Governor that can beat the stupidity of Okorocha, what is worse is, he thinks he is the best that ever happened or will ever happen to Imo State, whereas he has set that

State backwards 25 years or more. Some people call him OkoroAwusa, which I frown at when they do
but, if I’m completely honest here, even the Hausa Fulanis won’t descend to this level of illogicality. This
is mis-governance at its highest peak, my state Imo is finished. Why does APC keep quiet while this man
rides it rough shod, messing Imo State up?

I have heard it said that Okorocha wants to be respected, that he wants to be taken as the best
Governor that Imo State ever had, and to cap things up, that he wants to rule Nigeria, haha. Well
Nigerians, you better start now to “stop his wants”.
He has shown to the highest extent, irrationality and lack of capacity to management. He is brash, thoughtless, inconsiderate, uncaring, insensitive, undiplomatic, rude, without consideration of possible consequences of his abhorrent actions, unthinking, injudicious, unwise, silly, reckless and destructive. This is no joke, he has debased Imo state
to stupor.

APC, Imo State House of Assembly and Imolites, I ask you pointedly, when is enough going to be
enough??

Crime / Man Who Raped, Drugged & Took Nudes Of Unilorin Student Escapes Police Cell by DRIFTyKING(m): 10:05am On Dec 06, 2017
The Kwara State police command has explained how an Instagram user who allegedly drugged and raped a female student of the University of Ilorin disappeared from police custody.

Speaking to Newsmen in Ilorin, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Akayi Okasanmi explained how the suspect was arrested and how he disappeared under their nose.

Okasanmi said the victim whose name is withheld started a relationship with the suspect identified as Asiwaju Micheal after meeting on Instagram.

“We laid a trap for him. He called the lady at about 12.30pm and told her to meet him somewhere. Maybe he sensed that something was amiss. But eventually, we arrested him in a hotel and took him to my office. By that time it was late.

“I asked an officer from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to take his statement and he confessed. I collected one of his cell phones, searched and found some of the lady’s nude pictures in it. We made him to write a statement confirming what he did.

“Later, I left the SCIID officer to watch the suspect, while I went home to dress because we were expecting one of our principal officers from Abuja and we were to receive him at the airport at about 8 am. By the time I returned to the office, the suspect had disappeared.
The CID officer told me that he left him in the care of other people. For that reason, the boy defaulted and he is going to face trial,” said the PPRO.

Celebrities / Joke Silva: "How I Discovered I Was Adopted" by DRIFTyKING(m): 9:40am On Dec 06, 2017
Speaking at the August occasion of the Annual Conference of Heritage Adoption Support and Advocacy Group (HASAAG) which had the wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo in attendance, Joke Silva-Jacobs gave a vivid account of her experience as an adopted child.

Born 56 years ago, not many knew that Olu Jacobs’s pretty wife, Mrs. Joke Silva-Jacobs was adopted by the Silva Family.

According to kemiashefonlovehaven, Joke was living in a foster home of the Red Cross in Yaba, Lagos, and she recalled that her foster parent was Mrs. Desalu.

She said;

Everybody would be calling me whenever my adopted mum (Dr. Silva)came with cakes and a lot of things during her visit. I went to YWCA Nursery, which was not too far from the Silva’s home in Yaba. I also have memories of moving in with them when they moved to Glover Road in Ikoyi.

I remember reading newspapers to my Dad in our sitting room and pronouncing Brig-General Aguyi Ironsi, the then Nigeria Head Of State, Agolo Iresi! My father could not stop laughing at my hilarious interpretation of the newspaper.

Also I remember making them proud, when performing at St. Saviour School. My parents would be standing and were congratulated by other parent too for my acting skills. My parents were so excited that this child was incredibly talented.

At Holy Child Lagos

I have memories of going to Holy Child College Lagos because my parents insisted on me going to Holy Child because that is where Julie Coker, Pearce Olusola and Ibidun Allison went and they believed with all my performing talent skills, that is the kind of school I should go to too.

Revelation

I remembered going out with my cousin and we met a big cousin She introduced me as ‘my cousin’s daughter and this is Dr Silva’s daughter.’ Then, the older cousin was like, ‘Dr. Silva ke? Se Doctor Silva bimo ni? (meaning does Dr. Silva have a child?) . Did Dr Silva ever has a child?’

I was so confused and when I got home I told my mum, ‘I met this lady that says you never had a child.’ My mum froze and she said, ‘don’t mind them, they are used to rubbish talk.’

But I got to know years later when I wanted to travel and was looking for my passport where my mum kept it. Since she was not around, I opened the box in her absence and I saw my adoption papers. I never discussed it with my mum because I felt it was something that would hurt her, that was why, it was kept secret from me.

Joke’s Mum, Dr Silva

Amazing Parents But I had incredible memories of my amazing parents for allowing me to do my A Level in England and going to one of the best schools in Bournemouth (a seaside resort on the southern coast of England) coming back after my A level with two of them having an argument on what I was going to do because I had failed my A level having done it for the third time then.

I had done it thrice because I changed from science to Arts— I didn’t do well at all.
My father said, ‘Joke, go back and do your A levels again and my Mom said, let this girl go and do the drama.’ They came into middle ground, and as you can see I am still in drama today.

Bringing Olu Jacobs home

Several years later, I brought home the one I wanted to marry and my mum asked my husband, if he knew I was adopted and he answered in affirmation that I had already told him.

Many years later, there was another memory of a very nasty member of our family. My mummy always very supportive of her relatives sat on our balcony and said my aunty would never be supportive of her because in the Yoruba language, ‘won o kuku bimo’ (she never supported her because she didn’t have a child of her own.)

When I heard about it I did what Pastor Rapu called the unchristian thing. (May God forgive me. I dealt with her, till today, she never believed what I did that day to her, but I dealt with her by being so cold towards her. She would never forget it.

Letting my kids know

I then realized that I needed to tell my children about my adoption. I don’t want anybody to tell them in a way it wouldn’t be supportive. I called my children and I told them the ABC of my adoption story.

They now told me that grandma had already told them. It was then I learn that somebody in my son’s school had told him about his mum being adopted. He told grandma and grandma told him everything. Little wonder, my mum and Soji, my son were very close. Till she died, my mum my son remained inseparable.

Olu and I Lost Our Daughter

I have memories of my firstborn Dayo who died at the age of 10 and a half years. She was in coma and my husband would not allowed them removed her from life support until my mom came. He needed my mom’s approval then because grandma was so close to Dayo, they were inseparable.

She gave the go-ahead for her to be removed by saying she was better up there than making her suffer on life support. My mum was the one that saw us through because my dad already had a stroke and couldn’t be of help at all then.

I remember when my mother saw the health of my husband, who was deteriorating over the death of our daughter. She gave my husband a cheque of a hefty sum to go and complete the house we were building then. But because of how arrogant our husbands could be on matters like that, he rejected the offer of his mother-in-law, and quickly gathered himself together to go and complete the house.

Celebrating Late Parents

My mother is the first person who taught me how to pray and she told me, whatever the problem, her own father, Bishop Phillips, taught her to kneel down and pray on any issues bothering her life.

Whenever I go to her, she said, “Joke have you being on your kneels, oya take it to Baba God in prayer. Take it to daddy in prayer.”

In the Silva’s Will

Even in their wills, I was well protected. My Daddy being a lawyer said in his will that all his children, both adopted and biological, should be treated equally. I was not stressed in anyway. We were all well taken care of till my mum died at the age of 89. At 56, I still miss her but I know she has definitely gone back to her father.

On her sick bed I always sang her favorite tunes, she would be imputing the melodious tunes and she died singing to her Lord. She had prepared her family before my coming into her life because I had an incredible big Silva family.
I have a very big family I am the first daughter, I carried the responsibility of a first daughter. Everybody in my family cannot take any decision until sister Joke has come. I can’t call my parents adopted parents. They are my parents

Celebrities / Lota Chukwu 'KIKI' Opens Up On Beef Between Toyo Baby And Funke Akindele by DRIFTyKING(m): 12:09pm On Dec 05, 2017
Lota Chukwu Speaks on Beef Between Toyo Baby and Funke Akindele, Her Relationship With Funke Akindele And More

Rising Nollywood actress, Lota Chukwu, famously known as Kiki from Jenifa’s Diaries, in this interview with NetSeries speaks on her relationship with Funke Akindele; the beef between Toyo Baby and Funke Akindele; and her rise to fame as well as her new cooking show.

Speaking on her relationship with Funke Akindele, she said

'She is like a mum to everyone on set, she is hardworking and very hands on. In fact, she is like a big sister to everyone'.

She also touched on the simmering beef between Akindele and Juliana Oloyede who played her best friend, Toyo in the series, saying it was just a decision in movie production, in which characters come and go.[irp]

'I don’t think it could be classified as a beef. I wonder why everybody is saying that.

Here is the thing, in a typical movie series, characters come and go, it was never a life-long contract. If the character is needed, the character will come back, I am not the producer of the show”

she said ;If you noticed, I had to leave after season five. In fact, at this point, I am very sure if Jenifa could leave, she would leave, but she is the lead character'.

Science/Technology / Ghanaian Brothers Invent Device That Generates Electricity Using Cassava (pics) by DRIFTyKING(m): 7:28am On Nov 14, 2017
Otownloaded

Life is all about knowing what you want and going for it. Not letting any situation slow you down or prevent you from realizing your dreams.

This is exactly what these brothers are doing. Without any professional or formal training, enough finances and exposure, they are still following their passion and doing what they love which is manufacture/invent.

You remember the three-seater car story Otownloaded did earlier this month? They are the same people behind it.

This time, they’ve invented a device that generates electricity using cassava, ordinary cassava.

Speaking to OTOWNLOADED, the brothers who seemed quite elated about their latest creation explained that it has a voltage range of 11-12volts and can power 10 energy saving bulbs and a radio set.

Explaining how it works, they indicated that one must first blend the cassava and put it in a 1-litre reservoir in the device. Pipes in the device will then absorb the blended cassava from the reservoir and then use it to generate electricity.

According to them, with some funding, they can manufacture a bigger version of the device with a bigger reservoir which will generate more power.

This is too laudable and all we can say is help support these boys to take their dream on a larger scale to help mother Ghana.

Crime / 2 Men Behead 17-Year-Old Girl Hawking Puff-Puff In Ogun For Money Ritual by DRIFTyKING(m): 9:29am On Nov 13, 2017
Two suspected ritualists have been arrested by men of Ogun State Command of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old girl, Taye Gusau, in Idosemo, Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.

After killing her, they decapitated the body, cut off the hands and intestines. It was gathered that the suspects, Yewanu Tailoju and Asamo Soji, lured the girl, who was hawking puff-puff (doughnut) after school, into the bush and murdered her.

The state Public Relations Officer of VGN, Adebodun Omotolani, who disclosed this, said that the suspected criminals reportedly dumped the body in a well at an abandoned plot of land at Igude, after decapitating it.

Adebodun Omotolani explained that “four days ago, the parents of the girl, when they did not see their child, reported to the VGN, who swung into action, leading to the arrest of 35-year-old, Yewenu Tailoju.

“It was Tailoju that named his partner, Asamo Soji, who is now in Police net and confessed to killing the young girl for money rituals.

“He later took officers of the VGN to where her corpse was dumped after severing her head and hands, while her intestines were also removed.”

The Commandant of the VGN, Olanrewaju Adedoyin, who advised members of the public to always avail the group with information, said VGN was poised to taking community policing to a level that will reduce crime in the society. He said the case will be properly handed over to the Nigeria Police for further investigations and prosecution.

Business / Pfas As The Next Investment Destination, FCMB Group’s Example With Legacy Pensio by DRIFTyKING(m): 3:38pm On Nov 09, 2017
If a pension is deemed to be an invaluable source of income for the retired, and the Federal Government of Nigeria so motivated, introduced the Pension Reform Act of 2004, it should not be a surprise that within 13 years from inception, the pension industry has already risen to N6.02 trillion assets under management.

The rate of growth is quite remarkable when compared to the 125-year- old Nigerian banking industry that stands at slightly over N30 trillion.

Putting aside, the rapid growth of the sector, to what extent have the Pension Funds Administrators delivered on the expectations of their retiring beneficiaries? What stands out about Legacy Pension Limited? Why has FCMB Group Plc decided to increase its stake from 28.2% to over 88% equity holding in this pension firm?

Our guest Market Opinions Analyst, Emefu Ibeayoka, writing from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory reflects on FCMB Group’s history from City Securities Limited and First City Merchant Bank to its current form of a diversified financial services group with its deep knowledgeand experience in the investment space.

The recent announcement on the floor of the NSE of its intention to increase participation in the pension industry seems a natural next step for the group as the pension industry is set to rival the banking sector in terms of size and economic importance over the next decade.

The Pension Reform Act has restored discipline and trust for retirement savers. It has also limited employers’ pension liability and enhanced retirement benefits administration. No Pensioner has lost their savings
ue to mismanagement and the industry continues to grow at a healthy pace.

A lot of this credit accrues to the National Pension Commission (Pencom). A cursory survey of stakeholders would probably score Nigeria’s pension reform and pension industry performance high. The only complaint seems to be coming from capital market operators and providers of infrastructure, that are clamouring for pension fund managers to allocate more of their resources to these sectors in need of further development. Looking at the volatility of our stock market and the challenges of power sector privatisation (due largely to non-cost reflective tariffs), we must commend the PFAs and their regulator that they have remained conservative in their investment strategy.

Further reports are quoted to reveal that in spite of the macro-economic headwinds experienced last year, the Nigeria Pension Industry’s AUM grew by 16%, one percent higher than growth in the previous year.

Despite the contraction in monthly contributions, growth in AUM was largely driven by the higher yield offered in the fixed income market. Figures from May 2017, Nigeria Pension Industry Survey revealed 12.1% of respondents have decided to move to another PFA when the transfer window opens whilst 35.4% remain undecided. The level of competition amongst PFAs in Nigeria is set to intensify, with the opening of the transfer window and implementation of the Micro Pension Scheme (MPS).

FCMB Group’s announced intention to acquire a super majority of Legacy Pension Limited will broaden its service offerings with the group already offering commercial and retail banking, investment banking, asset management, and trusteeship services.

The successful completion of this transaction will bring FCMB Group’s shareholding in the company to 88.2%, thus becoming its largest shareholder. The development follows months of negotiations, regulatory reviews, approvals and pending final clearances of all relevant authorities.

It is on record that FCMB Group Plc, which is a holding company, has one of the richest predigrees in financial services in Nigeria. The broadening of its holdings to include a controlling stake in a PFA will most certainly open a new vista of growth and stability to its income streams. The bank’s reported 4 million customers, 200+ branch network and strong digital presence are fertile grounds for the rapid growth of this new addition to its portfolio.

On the other hand, Legacy Pension Managers Limited, whilst being a conservative player with a strong presence in Abuja and the North has steadily grown its assets under management to over N220 billion. The company has maintained a strict investment policy and achieved decent returns since inception. Co-incidentally, FCMB Group’s equity mutual

fund (known as the Legacy Equity Fund), won the BusinessDay Best Managed Fund (Equity Based) Award in October 2017, returning 52% year to date. It is expected that FCMB’s over 40 years of investment experience will complement and enhance Legacy Pension Managers proposition to existing and prospective customers.

With the synergies from enhanced distribution and investment expertise, analysts have hailed the decision of FCMB Group to acquire majority stake in Legacy Pension Managers by describing it as a significant development that would not only shake up the pension industry, but also enhance the future performance of FCMB Group. Analysts anticipate that Legacy Pension Managers will be better positioned to grow its market share, compete effectively upon the onset of Retirement Savings Account portability, and also enter the micropensions segment in the informal market that will leverage the distribution and marketing muscle of a commercial bank within the group. These are interesting times for FCMB Group, Legacy Pension Managers and the pension industry as a whole.

I remember when I created my first blog that had almost 300 unique visitors per day at the end of the year. I spent many hours creating blog posts and adding new fresh content. I sold it for $2800 and it was my first money ever earned on the Internet or as an entrepreneur. In fact, I’m still very proud of it and that’s the point where things started for me.

3. Blogging Makes You a Better Person

Having a blog will surely make you a better person. Why? Well, blogging obviously improves your writing skills as well as communication skills. You will start thinking more intentionally about who you are and who you want to become. Furthermore, when you send a job application, many employers look for employees who have blogs and write openly about their life and opinion. So it would be a definite “plus” for you.

4. Blogging Helps Other People

You can spread your information and knowledge through blogging. Heck, you can even help other people with specific problems. Let’s say you have blog about “mother care”. There are many women out there who are looking for help/solutions/ideas to raise up their children. Your knowledge or advice could be essential and very helpful.

The same thing goes with any other blog topic. EVERY blog helps other people in their own way. I remember when I started to get emails saying “Thanks for providing such valuable information”. It was very heart-warming and I still remember the feeling!

5. Google Loves Blogs

When your blog is ready, Google crawls your pages and it will be listed on Google search. It means you will start receiving additional visitors from the search engines. Isn’t that great? Search engines help to bring new people to your blog that can become your new friends or future business partners.

6. Self-promotion and New Opportunities

When you have a blog you basically have a “tool” or a “channel” to promote yourself or make you look like an expert. You’ll be amazed how many people start to respect you and I know many cases when employers actually contact blog owner directly to offer working positions or joint venture opportunity. This will open you a lot of doors that you might have not been aware or dreamed of.

7. Use Blogs To Stay in Touch

Active people tend to have less time to sit on Facebook or any other social “chat-room”. Again, blog can help you to keep in touch with your friends, colleagues and relatives. They can easily read everything about your activities, ideas and success through your blog. Be wise and use this as a communication tool.

8. You Can Make World a Better Place

When you have a blog, you actually have a voice. This means you can spread out all the things you like or don’t like. And those things can help you to change the world.

You have probably seen some blog articles or posts that have gone viral through Twitter and/or Facebook. Once they do that, they will get a lot of attention. Here’s an example story how two young girls launched a blog post that helped to change their school conditions. For your information, they were only 9 and 13 at that time.

9. Blog Can Help To Grow Your Business

Does your company have a blog? If not, then you are missing a lot of it. Blogs can impart a lot of things about your company.

For example, your potential clients can read interesting stories about your company success, ideas, strategies and even new products that might turn them into regular paying customers. That’s a huge opportunity that lot a of small and big firms are not using.

Furthermore, companies who blog have 97% more inbound links (which means more traffic and visitors)..

10. Blogging Can Become Your Hobby

If you have too much free time and you are constantly browsing on the Web then you should really consider starting a blog.

You will soon get addicted to it (in a good way) and you will start learning a lot of things. So if you are bored right now then what are you waiting for? You will get a lot of good and new experiences, there is nothing to lose.

11. Blogging Helps to Improve Writing and Argumentation Skills (extra)

Back to the time when I was in college, my grammar, communication and argumentation skills were really poor. But these are very universal and necessary competences in everyday life and also in professional career.

Blogging has had a huge impact on my writing skills since I started. Although it’s not perfect, I feel myself a lot more confident. The more you write, the easier it becomes. Blogging is quite new but there has already been done research about blogging and enhancing writing skills.

Some interesting facts

There are approximately 130 million active blog readers in the US right now and 72 million in Nigeria.
90% of companies who blog daily have acquired at least one customer (probably much more) through blogging.
80% of the US online consumers trust the information they get from blogs.
61% of US online consumers have made a purchase based on recommendations from a blog.
Blogging is most popular in age group of 20 – 35 year old. It’s over 50% of the total blogging population.

Reasons why why your company or business need a professional website

Like many small business owners, you may believe your business cannot benefit from having a website or that a website is not within your budget. Or maybe you think because you don’t use a computer, neither do your potential customers. These are misconceptions.

Furthermore, companies who blog have 97% more inbound links (which means more traffic and visitors). – See it yourself.

These 8 reasons show why your company NEEDS a professional website, no matter what size your business.

1. YOUR SMALL BUSINESS WILL GAIN CREDIBILITY

Today, more and more consumers use the internet to search for the products or services they need. Your small business will gain credibility by having a website. Without one, potential customers will go to your competitors that do. If you already have a website but it is “home-made”, having it professionally redesigned will provide your business with a professional image which will inspire even greater confidence. For home-based businesses, this is particularly beneficial since you do not have a store front to promote your products or services.

2. A WEBSITE SAVES YOU MONEY

As a small business owner you probably think you can’t afford a professional website, but you can’t afford NOT to. Although the cost of designing a website varies, once it’s up and running, a website for a small business generally costs under $100 a month and, in some cases, as little as $20. Compared with the cost of a newspaper ad, when you consider the potential market you can reach with a website, it is a very cost effective way to promote your business.

3. IT WILL ENABLE YOU TO KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS INFORMED

Think of your website as being your online brochure or catalogue. It is much easier and quicker to update information about your products and services on your website than in print material, making it an effective way of letting your customers know about the arrival of new products, upcoming events, special promotions, or any new services you now offer. Unlike print ads which quickly become outdated, your website can provide current information and news.

4. IT IS ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE

A website is available to both your regular and potential customers 24/7/365 providing them with the convenience of reviewing your products and services when your store or office is closed. With today’s busy lifestyles, this is a great selling point when making a purchase decision.

5. A WEBSITE MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO TARGET A WIDER MARKET

Whether you provide products or services, your website will provide an alternative location to sell them. As a retailer, a website (eCommerce) is a great place to sell your products to a wider market; even services can be made available globally. Don’t think you’ll be able to sell your products or services online? Don’t forget, even cars and houses sell online!

6. IT PROVIDES A MEDIUM ON WHICH TO SHOWCASE YOUR WORK

No matter what type of business you’re in, a website is a great place to showcase your work. By including a portfolio or image gallery, as well as testimonials about your work, you can demonstrate what makes your business unique.

7. A WEBSITE SAVES YOU TIME

Providing information to your customers takes time, whether it’s on the phone, face-to-face, in a brochure, or in emails. With an online catalogue you can provide lots of information about your products and services. Once your website is up and running, it is available to your customers indefinitely, saving you time. And what is time? Time is money!

8. IT IMPROVES CUSTOMER SERVICE

Maybe you sell environmentally friendly products and would like to share tips on how to recycle, or perhaps you’re an accountant and want to give your clients advice on how to simplify their bookkeeping practices. By including a FAQ page, adding articles or uploading newsletters to answer all your customers’ questions you can keep them up-to-date. What better way to provide them with value added service than by sharing information on your website.

Romance / 9 Lies Married Men Use All The Time To Hit On Women by DRIFTyKING(m): 1:48pm On Nov 03, 2017
Married men are all over, roaming and deceiving ladies everywhere.

No, don’t get me wrong, I am a married man but I tell you this for free; we are the most devious and malicious creatures to ever walk this earth. A married man will lie to you without batling a lid to hit on you and eventually win your heart.

Here are 9 lies married men use to hit on you:

1. I am not happy in my marriage.

This is the topmost lie that men lie to woo naive girls into dating them. If he is not happy he should leave, not bringing a sob story to make you swallow the line and hook up. My sister, if he is unhappy you are not his happiness either – abort mission.

2. I will leave her.

You have heard this statement a thousand times from married men. He says he is fed up with his wife and will leave her for you. It’s a lie!

3. I am with her for the sake of the kids.

You’ve already heard this comment gazillion time. He will lie that he is with the wife for the sake of the kids while in the real sense, they are very happily married. Visit his social media accounts and you’ll be met by pictures of a perfect family.

4. I don’t love her.

This is a line that most married men are fond of using. If he doesn’t love her what makes you think he will love you? Wake up girl, he just wants to slide you to the sack!

5. I will marry you.

What makes you believe that he will leave his wife for you? Married men use this lie to lure you into accepting his demands knowing very well that he will never leave his wife for you. The only way to avoid this is to avoid him.

6. We separated just recently.

He will lie to you that he just separated with his wife and they are just co-parenting. He will continue lying to you that he may even consider you the second mother of his kids. Really? Do you buy such crap? I don’t think so.

7. She is not as beautiful as you.

No one hates to be told that they are beautiful, but using this lie to get you is just lame. Everyone is beautiful in their own ways. Sweetie he is just making you feel good so that you fall into his trap head first.

8. We don’t even sleep in the same bed.

This is a lie married men will tell you to make you believe that they are not even sleeping with their wives. He will lie to you that the last time they slept together was before the new millennium. He is lying. Stay woke.

9. I will move out.

He will lie to you that he will find a place for you and leave his matrimonial home. Men use this lie to make you feel that he is more interested in making a future with you. It’s a lie, be wise.

Celebrities / Chiwetel Ejiofor And Beyonce To Star In ‘The Lion King' Remake by DRIFTyKING(m): 1:32pm On Nov 02, 2017
Beyonce is set to voice Simba’s childhood friend turned love interest Nala in the live-action remake of Disney’s “The Lion King,” the singer and studio announced Wednesday.

The 36-year-old pop megastar confirmed the long-rumoured role in a Facebook post that showed headshots of the voice cast, also revealing that Keegan-Michael Key (“Why Him?”, “Storks”) will be playing a hyena named Kamari.

Alongside Beyonce — and mostly previously announced — will be Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones reprising his role in the 1994 animated movie as Mufasa, and then Nigerian born British actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor as his nemesis Scar.

Comedian John Oliver was confirmed as Zazu, while other big names in the production — set for release in July 2019 — include Seth Rogan and Billy Eichner.

It is a director’s dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life,” said director Jon Favreau, who helmed Disney’s hit live-action remake of “The Jungle Book” (2016), in a statement confirming the cast.

The production will build on Disney’s hugely lucrative reimagining of that movie and several other classics from its vaults — including “Beauty and the Beast,” “Maleficent” and “Cinderella” — for contemporary audiences.

“The Lion King” is one of the biggest animated films of all time, with a lifetime global box-office gross of just under $1 billion.

It won Oscars for the song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” by Elton John and Tim Rice, and for its score by Hans Zimmer, plus two Grammy Awards, with the soundtrack selling more than 14 million copies.

The stage production made its Broadway debut in 1997 and went on to win six Tony Awards.

Translated into eight languages, the film’s 23 global stage productions have been seen by more than 85 million people. The worldwide gross for the brand exceeds that of any film, Broadway show or other entertainment title in history.

Stunning early footage of the live-action version shown at Disney’s D23 fan convention in Southern California in July climaxed in the iconic moment when Rafiki introduces newborn Simba to the animals of the savannah.

“This is a story that belongs to everyone who grew up with the original film,” said Favreau.
“I wanted to demonstrate that we could be respectful of the source material while bringing it to life using new techniques and technologies.”

Romance / Man Proposes To His Girlfriend Of 3 Years At Owerri Mall (photos/video) by DRIFTyKING(m): 2:14pm On Oct 24, 2017
A Nigerian man, Ikechukwu Nwanosike, surprised his girlfriend of 3 years, Jessica Onyeanu with a marriage proposal at the Mall in Egbu, Owerri, Imo state.

A video shows Ikechukwu, going on his knee, popped the golden 4 words to a now surprised Jessica who was chatting with a friend, she at first being shocked with the whole thing hid her face, and finally walked up to Ikechukwu and said yes.

Here’s what a close friend, Mic Milli who sent in the story to Lailasblog.com exclusively told us;

They have been dating for 3years now… I found the lady miss Jessica worthy, so I did a little magic of bringing them close, don’t ask me how.
There have been ups and downs in the past 3years… But in all they both choose to keep working towards perfection but on Monday 23rd Oct 2017 something I have been expecting happened though I saw it in a vision. Lol. on Sunday but I didn’t know it will come soon… Miss Jessica finally said YES to Mr. Ikechukwu Nwanosike.

Crime / Popular Nigerian Facebook Celebrity Accused Of Duping Two Women Of N11million by DRIFTyKING(m): 3:28pm On Oct 19, 2017
A popular Facebook celebrity and writer, Mike Ile has been accused by another popular user and friend, Remi Adeoye of duping two women of eleven million Naira.

Lailasblog.com tried visiting Mike’s page to get his own side of the story after learning he had a live broadcast this morning to address the issue and give his own account, on visiting his page we found out that he has deactivated his account.

Remi started with ‘It came to me as a shock. A person I so admired for his philanthropy in mobilizing resources for the needy was alleged to have duped two women of the sum of eleven million naira. I was so dumbfounded.’

It came to me as a shock. A person I so admired for his philanthropy in mobilizing resources for the needy was alleged to have duped two women of the sum of eleven million naira. I was so dumbfounded.
While considering how best to handle the situation, I saw an update that he intended deactivating his account. Now I will be accused of telling a one sided story if that happens. So I dropped a comment on the thread for him to tarry until the issue was sorted out. He promptly deleted the comment.

So I have no choice than to make this update. I know when that account is deactivated he will come back with another name and continue to plunder unwary women hiding under philantrophy.

You know before I can make such post I have already assembled my evidence! The scam is so mind boggling it will bring tears to your eyes.
When I made this update, I tagged the guy. He came on the thread and instead of refuting the allegations, he rained insults on me. I just checked now and he is no longer tagged. Dude has blocked me. But he cannot block the long hands of the law.

He dropped another post and tagged it PART 2! He wrote;

TWO WOMEN DUPED OF 11 MILLION NAIRA PART 2
When I made Part 1 of this update yesterday about two women who were duped of eleven million Naira, I did so because the circumstances warranted it. This morning, the man concerned has made a live broadcast to explain his side of the story. I watched his broadcast from the beginning and for about twenty minutes until I lost connection because I was in transit.

While the broadcast was on i heard him shout on someone who commented that he should address the allegations and stop beating about the bush. He replied that the man should get off his wall as he was not there to entertain anyone. Well he completed the broadcast and I saw a comment from someone who watched the broadcast from beginning to the end who said he admitted collecting money from the women and told him to just pay back and stop the sob stories.

Some of you have testified to the fact that I am not a frivolous person. I did not envisage a to-and-fro posts on this issue but this update is necessary to address some of the claims he made in the video. I have already confessed that I did not watch it to the end so I will only respond to the claims I heard with my ears. Those who watched it to the end can bring up other issues that I may not address in the comment section and I will respond to them. But let me warn that unlike yesterday when I tolerated all sorts of stupid comments from people who were trying to shield a crime suspect, i will not give such latitude today. Anyone who insults any commentator on my thread will be axed.

First, he said I did not ask him a single question despite the fact that he interacted with me twice within the past one week before accusing him of fraud. That is true. First when we interacted I had not received the complaints which came in day before yesterday and yesterday from two separate individuals. Second, if you want to question a crime suspect, you must first administerer the word of caution and read him his rights. He must sign a document that you did so before anything he says can be admissible in evidence.

I have never met Mike in my life. We only interact online. So it was not possible to administer that word of caution and had him sign it. As such asking him confidentially to respond to criminal allegations violates his rights and prejudices the real investigation that will be conducted by the police on this case shortly. I am already preparing a report to the Inspector – General of Police.

Second, he made allusion to the fact that the first of his victims lived in the southwest. His intention was to give the complaint and my action ethnic colouration. Well the Victim is not from my ethnic nationality and i am never affected by ethnicity in the discharge of my duties. If you commit a crime, you are a crime suspect. i have no business with your ethnic nationality. If you are a victim of crime, I do my best to get justice for you no matter where you came from. He claimed he had a relationship with the first victim.

That is true. i mentioned the fact yesterday that even if he was sleeping with any or both of them, it changes nothing. Now the first victim had told me that they dated from February till May 2016. the monies she gave him then which ran to over a million naira was not included in the claims she has made. In May when he brought concept of the bogus business, (i will explain bogus shortly), the lady severed the relationship and said she didn’t mix business with pleasure.

So from May, 2016 it was purely business that connected them. I called it bogus business designed only to siphon money from the hapless women because one, he boasted that he had a lawyer who registered the company bla bla bla. Yet none of those he scammed were listed as directors. he never opened a company account to receive the funds he collected in his personal account.

There is no written contract or agreement to document the investments of the so called investors whom he merely set out to dupe. None of the women victims had any say over issue of finance while all the money went into his private account to do with as he pleased. I have already received statement of account of the victims covering the period and there is no exaggeration in the sums moved to his account. You guys should ask him what he did with eleven million Naira within months.

Yesterday night another victim showed up. She was on hospital bed post surgery when this guy went to badger her for money to invest in a documentary for a State Governor. He promised that the shooting would be completed within two weeks and he would be paid. Despite reluctance due to her health challenge, he persuaded her to issue a cheque of N800,000 in his favour.

He cleared the cheque the following day. It is almost a year now, he has only refunded the lady N200,000 despite repeated requests which even involved both their mothers. Last night the lady went to demand for her money again only to find that he had vacated his premises without informing her. Yet within minutes of the lady leaving the premises, guyman had been alerted of the lady’s visit and he tried to chat her up with the usual smooth lines. That is a separate case. Fortunately the lady is in Abuja and she had initiated the process to get him arrested because that was all the savings she had and her life had become frustrated without her capital. Her thinking was that by the time she would have fully recovered from the surgery, she would have gotten her money back. Shen never counted on the smooth operator using his cult-like following to dare her to go to the police.

There are two other victims who had sent money from abroad for charity work which they said they never saw evidence that such were executed despite following trends closely. For now they are not pressing charges so i too will look the other way until they decide to make their complaint formal.
Here's how Mike reacted to the allegations;
