I guess some people may misunderstand what the Doctor said to imply that one can go on consuming excess sugar. That will be wrong. There should be moderation in everything. People should be educated on the need to eat balanced meal and the need for fruits and vegetables.
Having said that, we have to provide scientifically correct answer to the question of whether sugar causes diabetes. The Doctor's answer is correct.
One has to caution about the downside of obesity which may result from excess sugar consumption, which may increase our risk for diabetes.
If you know of a credible scientific source that says that sugar causes diabetes, I would appreciate a reference.

How can you come out in public and tel the masses that consuming so much sugar (glucose) cannot lead to diabetes.
Was he trained at all ??
What causes insulin production from the pancreas to malfunction and vice versa if not excess glucose tolerance.
The guy is simply out of his head.
And again, adding bitter stuffs to your diets like bitter leaf has been salvaging in people who made it a life habbit. They usually test negative to diabetes in old age.
