I meant APA( American Psychological Association )
DrObi:
If you are really a psychologist you will not check on google . Google is a site created by human beings, The only reliable source to check on what you argued about is the PAP ( American Psychological Association) and see if what you argue about is among the field/s of Psychology.

Educational Psychology is a great career when it comes to your choice as a teacher now. please stop the big names that are being labelled to universities and take your graduate program , Names matters only in Nigeria or Africa but skills and experiences are other issues in the field of psychology.
chineloSA:
Well the whole idea behind working was to
1. To save money to study at Harvard University ( one cannot only depend on funding ) I am so terrified of that since I also got married last year.
2. To explore the idea of pursuing Educational Psychology as apposed to Clinical Psychology.

Now I think I have a clear I idea of what I really wanna do, and where I wanna do it.

The only problem I have now is gaining Harvard admission. Thats the challenge. sad sad sad

But I can see if I dont get Harvard admission in the next three years, I might be compelled to settle for something else. I dont wanna do it in SA as well. That's the reason I asked if you can recommend any other BEST INSTITUTION. cheesy cheesy cheesy

REMEMBER ALL UNIVERSITIES CAN OFFER THE POST GRADUATE COURSE, BUT NOT ALL ARE VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY cheesy
CareerRe: Psychology Graduates Lets Meet Here by DrObi: 5:29am On Jul 12, 2015
since you need psychology for a master program, then go for forensic psychology meanwhile since you do not have psychology as your undergrad course you will need to take pre requisit in psychology and will focus on clinical psychology , amount of credits or units depends on universities.

Forensic psychologists are scientist-practitioners. They apply psychological knowledge, theory and skills to the understanding and functioning of legal and criminal justice systems, and to conducting research in relevant areas. They often work in criminal, civil and family legal contexts and provide services for litigants, perpetrators, victims, and personnel of government and community organisations.

Forensic psychologists are employed in a variety of areas, including:

Courts and other tribunals.
Mental health (both general services and forensic mental health services).
Corrections (adult and juvenile, prisons and community).
Child protection.
Family services (e.g., family violence counselling services, parent training programs).
Alcohol and other drug services.
Rehabilitation services (e.g., pain clinics, head injury services).
Police.
Academia, research and policy organisations.
Private practice.
Skills and competencies of forensic psychologists

Collecting and reporting (both in written reports and oral) evidence of a psychological nature for use in legal and quasi-legal proceedings.
Psychological assessment and report writing.
Psychological formulation and diagnosis.
Psychological intervention (psychoeducation; individual, group and family psychotherapies; rehabilitation).
Program evaluation.
Forensic Interviewing.
Research.

You have to be strong and direct your goal because Psychology is a difficult profession , is better to take medicine than Psychology because they have got direct treatment plan whereas Psychologist use systematical formulation to treat patients . Be strong .

Narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by dramatic, emotional behavior, which is in the same category as antisocial and borderline personality disorders.

Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include:

Believing that you're better than others .Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness .Exaggerating your achievements or talents
Expecting constant praise and admiration .Believing that you're special and acting accordingly .Failing to recognize other people's emotions and feelings .Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans .Taking advantage of others .Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior
Being jealous of others. Believing that others are jealous of you ,Trouble keeping healthy relationships .Setting unrealistic goals .Being easily hurt and rejected .Having a fragile self-esteem .Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional .Although some features of narcissistic personality disorder may seem like having confidence or strong self-esteem, it's not the same. Narcissistic personality disorder crosses the border of healthy confidence and self-esteem into thinking so highly of yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal. In contrast, people who have healthy confidence and self-esteem don't value themselves more than they value others.

When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement. And when you don't receive the special treatment to which you feel entitled, you may become very impatient or angry. You may insist on having "the best" of everything — the best car, athletic club, medical care or social circles, for instance.

Consciousness is NOT Personality

According to Gerald M. Edelman, "Consciousness is neither a thing nor a simple property." Edelman has asserted that a fundamental property of consciousness is that it cannot be broken down into independent components. That is to say, consciousness is integrated within the brain, and involves many widely separated areas. In this model, consciousness is not a location but a process. Personality is the acquired pattern of response to the environment by agreement between both hemispheres and requires no conscious involvement.

While we have learned much about the specific regions of the brain and their functions, we have not discovered the location of the "command center" where the "I" and "Me" resides. It is apparent that most of what happens in our mind is automatic, or reactive in that it can function with little or no consciousness. What we know of as "consciousness" is looking like a passive observer of elaborate and efficient mind systems.

Psychology of reasoning

There are several alternative theories of the cognitive processes that human reasoning is based on. One view is that people rely on a mental logic consisting of formal (abstract or syntactic) inference rules similar to those developed by logicians in the propositional calculus. Another view is that people rely on domain-specific or content-sensitive rules of inference. A third view is that people rely on mental models, that is, mental representations that correspond to imagined possibilities. The mental model theory is the subject of the mental models website A fourth view is that people compute probabilities. One controversial theoretical issue is the identification of an appropriate competence model, or a standard against which to compare human reasoning. Initially classical logic was chosen as a competence model.Subsequently some researchers opted for non-monotonic logic and Bayesian probability. Research on mental models and reasoning has led to the suggestion that people are rational in principle but err in practice. Connectionist approaches towards reasoning have also been proposed.
