It is the exclusive preserve of ex-coupists and blood- thirsty mad men who are supposed to be locked up in a psychiatric hospital in any western nation.

Then go away from Nigeria naa?

Nobody said he looted funds.

Such an act is also a form of corrupt practise.

In the bid to criticize every step of the govt, some people miss the point and end up embarrassing themselves.
PoliticsRe: 2016 Tax Collection Slumps To N1.2trillion - Guardian by DropShot: 12:14pm On Jan 08, 2017
However, a top insider of the tax agency spoke to The Guardian on condition of anonymity, because the collection figure is still being held under wraps by the management.
He confirmed that the actual collection figure that has hit the agency’s tax remittance portal, being held at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is N1.2trillion, noting that there are still some collections on behalf of the Tax Agency by sister agencies like the Nigerian Customs Service and from the Airlines, which are yet to hit the records.

The official confidently maintained that by the time those collections are reported, the figure may ramp up to over N3 trillion, representing some 75 per cent of the N5trillion, the agency set for itself.
It's impossible to know what exactly Nigerian earned from taxes in 2016 by the first week of January 2017.

This report is not worth the paper on which it was made.

Whynotthetruth:
I see you celebrating with modath on this thread but before you continue;

1)You don't have access to arguments cum evidence for and against this case...this is just a narrative of judge decision for case to be examined NOT and NEVER a conviction or PERMANENT forfeiture...If EFCC can't prove that there is case of stolen fund and how it was stolen then NOTHING for them...

2)I hope you also saw the report of $4.2 billion missing or unaccounted for from same NNPC under Buhari as Minister and president...Yea, he's a messiah not accidental president of no repute...

3)NNPC under Buhari by their stance in this report hasn't said there is missing fund...rather want to take an informed stance not alien to common sense and constitution...I am yet to see such cases Buhari has won in court except on media...You don't keep the cart before the horse.

4)First Bank only said they weren't part of the transaction if there was any...and wasn't done in the bank...Did EFCC retrieve any $40million cash from Lawal? Can they PROVE with EVIDENCE that such money was from NNPC ? So how come your conclusion that nobody will claim the fund? smh

5)I am sure you remember your thin god; Buhari stance on Abacha under whom he worked...(Abacha did not steal) just as we await repatriation of funds from same Abacha which is even contained in 2017 appropriation bill...

6)When will you also ask Buhari to react to his cutting grass with 270 million from funds raised by your hated Jonathan? I hope you are enjoying their dance of shame with Sahara reporters for some time now on funds stolen by even his family as Nigeria treasury is now Buhari's family account
[/s]
If after reading the news report, this is all you can still come up with, no point having a discussion with you.

Just to educate you, it is anyone who wants to claim ownership of the money that must come forward and prove his/her case and convince the judge why permanent forfeiture should not be granted to the FG.

All other thing you've written is out of point.

This loquacious thugnor again.

Buhari is busy creating genuine millionaires and not political millionaires.

We know the drift: steal billions and distribute N200 at the market square to those you stole their future.

When nemesis is about to catch up with you, run to those poor souls to come to your defense.

Unfortunately, the immunity you enjoy now is about to end and you shall be made to face justice.
PoliticsRe: CESJET: Buhari's N5000 Payment To Unemployed Nigerians, Commendable by DropShot: 6:47am On Jan 08, 2017
Kudos to the president and his vice.

Those criticizing this program should tell us if this is not done in developed and other developing countries.

A responsible govt, irrespective of the form of govt the country practices, will have social security program for her poorest citizens. And the fact that this program was a campaign issue of APC makes it more correct and commendable.

mr man which stupid profiling are you being deceived with why are you following what media is feeding you, why don you step out of your comfortable home and ask the first beggar you see on the road 'have you been paid the 5,000 naira' i'll bet he has never heard about it before.
The poorest people are the ones lacking information.
The poorest people are the ones sleeping under bridges.
The poorest people are not the ones that heard about it on their radio at their homes and came out to register that they are poor.
.
.
THEIR IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 'THE POOR AND THE POOREST'
[/s]
Stop being a bitter soul.

Tell us how many beggars on the street you asked and how many said yes and no?

The program will surely not catch every vulnerable Nigerian at once. It's in stages and the first stage is for one million of them. As time goes on, it will expand to some others and gradually it will capture those that have to be captured.

I ask you again, is there a responsible country that doesn't have social security program for her vulnerable citizens?

Some of you are just too petty.
PoliticsRe: Corruption: NNPC, First Bank Reacts To Seizure Of $153.3m Diezani Money.. by DropShot: 6:31am On Jan 08, 2017
What is in the judgment for NNPC to study? Abi dem dey shame say them allow the heist to happen?

“We’ve said this thing before now that the transaction regarding Diezani and Mr. (Dauda) Lawal was in his personal capacity, and the money was not a First Bank transaction,” Mr. Lasaki told PREMIUM TIMES.
“We said that and we still maintain that.”
With this statement from First Bank, it's sure nobody will come forward to claim that money. Thank you President Muhammadu Buhari, the true leader and champion of the common man.

I'm sure if GEJ was asked to react to this shameful stealing by Diezani, he'd probably say "I don't think it's possible for Diezani to steal $153 million dollars like that".

The thieves who worked with GEJ surely enjoyed his leadership that allowed them to loot as they liked.

GEJ was an accidental president indeed. Under normal circumstance, he cannot win a contest to be a class captain in a primary school.

my lemme say this again, the poorest nigerians dont even have bank accounts. Buhari is only paying peopl that are slightly below the middle class.
If you have followed this program from beginning, you'd realize that profiling those who are qualified for this program is the main reason it took long time to start it. The profiling include getting them to open special accounts for the purpose of the program.

It's not a crime not to have a knowledge about a particular issue. It is a crime to want to pretend to do when you've failed to find out about it.

This government really cares about its people and they are really trying to ease economic burden but their approach is very wrong. Teach them how to fish and not giving them fish.
But the downtrodden must eat to survive first before the govt can teach them how to fish. Besides, this was a campaign promise of the govt; thus whether good or bad, the govt has a moral responsibility to fulfill its campaign promises upon which it was elected.

I still don't know any sane country in the world that doesn't have social security intervention as this for her very vulnerable citizens.

USA, UK, Saudi, India, Germany, France and many other countries with pure capitalism still provide social security fr those at the very low rungs of the ladder.

Let's be sincere in our criticism of govt programs and not just criticize just for the sake of it.

PhonesRe: MTN Makes Fresh Attempt To Reverse Court Order To Forfeit N8b In Assets by DropShot:
Justice Anka had granted an order of interim forfeiture to the Federal Government, empowering the government to temporarily take possession of the funds in the two banks’ accounts. He had also ordered that a notice be published in two national daily newspapers inviting anybody with an interest in the frozen funds to come forward within 14 days to show why the court should not issue a final forfeiture order in favor of the Federal Government.
Seems some judges are sitting up seeing how some of their corrupt colleagues have been dealt with by the FG despite their cry of persecution and witch hunting. One gave a temporary forfeiture order for $153 million stolen and kept away by Diezani yesterday, here is a similar judgment against MTN. I say kudos to PMB on his resolve to restore sanity in our judiciary.

And why did the debt recovery company fail to publish the order in national dailies as directed by the judge? If they had done that, perhaps MTN won't have a ground to want to reverse the judgment as they're now trying to. It's small technicalities as this that were used to frustrate prosecutions in the past. Let's hope this will be different this time around.
