Walahi you have made so much sense.
The sad part is a lot of these men always shoving Polygamy down our throat with different silly write-ups don't even have the capacity to effectively manage just a wife, then they go for more just for selfish reasons. It's rare to see a man doing polygamy as prescribed especially in this part. Very rare.
You see people who can barely even wake up for tahajjud every other night talking about doing Sunnah by marrying more than a wife, this wife they want to marry is one young fresh babe with several single brothers seeking her hands but she'll more often than not go for a married one cos he has more money. They won't do Sunnah with widows or divorcees o. The Prophet didn't have any other wife till after Khadijah's death, and even there was a divine reason for his marriage to most of his other wives, Aisha was the only virgin wife he had.
Some men even take it like it's a Command of Allah, it's a mere permission and there was need for it at the time due to war and the loss of men at those times. These days people go into it for mostly sexual reasons.
Some will commit zina and justify it by saying they are allowed to marry more than a wife. Some would even have four already and still have concubines outside,that is how shameless some people are.
I don't see polygamy as a way to curb adultery, some people just lack contentment.
What pisses me off most is when they try to guilt-trip women who do not like the idea of polygamy, like you don't have enough Iman or selfish or want to paint it like they are helping women by going into polygamy using false made up statistics.

To the men painting women black for not liking polygamy, if polyandry was allowed, a lot of you won't sing same tune. Some people can't even see their wife greeting another man they'll start boiling.

o yes,dat a woman dusnt like polygamy dusnt mean she has little faith.. evn the prophet's wives did not rejoice to d news each time dey heard d prophet was taking another wife in,cuz it only means an extra day further for dem to spend wt him...n dese were women wt d best of faith...d mothers of d believers.
Polygamy is not d issue,d practise out dere, n d way it is being presented like a woman is made for sexual benefits of d man n dts all,is apalling. i hav a daughter n i cnt begn to instill in her dat she is jst another variety of "fruit" having a diffrnt color n shape n size for d man to hav hs fill with!! I know i ddnt marry her mom for dese reasons. so wen pple supportn d op n hs article hav daughters dey cn teach dem so n groom dier boys to tnk so as well...!

N its not true dt females out number males,wat is true is those men ready to settle are less in number as compared to d females..sadly. n money is d main culprit here.

ds is in no way tarnishing polygamy,bt if u begn to brng issues like u long for another woman cuz u are a man,bt at d same time u frown at women dt want to marry men for money den wat is d difference betwn u two if not for worldly gains??!! u for d body n she for material things!!
set ur priorities right my frnd..no fights here i am jst saying. dnt make islam look horrible..d same men lack expression of love towards dier wives,are v.intolerable towards dem cuz dey feel dese women can b changed and married in no time regardless of dier feelings!! ds is not how to go about ds, evn if u want to present polygamy,not ds way, dt makes islam.look like dere is little or no regard for how d woman feels. it is jealousy n males hav dat even more! a man once told d prophet he will slay a man he sees wt his wife,n d prophet didnt say a thing to negate dt action rather he said it was gheerah n Allah has dt even more towards hs servants as regards worship.

the article is sound and valid the OP was not biased in his write-up and made a case for both parties. the biased elements didn't see that,but only chose to pick the one that pinched them.bah.
