U1:Oh yeah! You can figure that one out |
Drimosemi:Thank you |
U1:I think any good clinic should have their Doctor’s certificate and license to practice on display for everyone to see. You can just sneak the question in.. What did you study in school? |
Omihanifa:You are welcome |
baazay:Hello i hope you dont mind, but i would refer you to my blog, where i wrote a bit on floaters, it would help you understand them better and know what to do https://asktimon.com/have-you-noticed-a-black-dots-moving-in-your-vision-what-does-this-mean/ |
Excel70:Hello, sorry about the way you fell.. i wrote a bit one this in my blog, and i hope you dont mind if I referred you there.. https://asktimon.com/why-do-my-eyes-feel-get-blurry-after-using-my-computer-for-a-while/ https://asktimon.com/do-you-sometimes-feel-tired-around-your-eyes/ |
U1:Hello im really sorry about the confusion some of our Nigerian practsioners cause in recent time.. the problem with most of us today is greed, most people tend to over-step their boundaries for Money.. let me spell it all out to you; An Ophthalmologist (MD) has a medical degree and is licensed to practice medicine and perform eye surgery. An ophthalmologist has had at least 12 years of education and training beyond secondary school and is qualified to diagnose and treat all eye diseases; perform surgery; prescribe and fit glasses and contact lenses. An Optometrist (OD) has a degree in optometry and is licensed to practice optometry. An optometrist has had at least six years of education and training beyond secondary school and is qualified to determine the need for glasses and contact lenses; prescribe optical correction; screen for some eye conditions; and provide the primary eye care. An Optician usually has a combination of college (or two years of opticianry school) and on-the-job training. An optician is trained to fit and dispense eyeglasses or contact lenses based upon a prescription from a licensed ophthalmologist or optometrist. But today, no offence intended- when some opticians makes enough money, he rents somewhere and tags it “eye clinic” meanwhile all he knows how to do is to fit lenses.. the opticians may have spent some time with either an optometrist or an ophthalmologist so he learns how to measure a persons refractive error & when you go there, best believe he would give you glasses. (This can only happen in Nigeria) And as for the drugs bit, i know some eye clinics that would never let a patient leave without giving the patient at least; an eye lubricant. In other words, they always prescribe drugs.. please dont let the sin of a few men affect the profession at large. I am a proud optometrist, and i know my Job. We give lenses where they are required, drugs when they are, and referrals to ophthalmologists when the condition goes beyond the scope of our practice. Thank you |
slimmic: your eye doctor can help irrigate the surface part of your eye if thats what you mean by “wash” and for the itching, swelling, and covering.. its most likely an allergic response. So you need to see an eye doctor to help prescribe the right drugs based on the signs he would see on the eye |
chinochizzy:Please if your sister has hypertension and it seems to be affecting her vision, “run” to an ophthalmologist.. dont waste a second.. she needs to have the blood pressure regulated if not it can cause something called hypertensive retinopathy |
transfer101:Sorry im far from you, and i dont know any colleagues in abadan but you have to see an eye doctor for proper check up. Dont joke with your eyes.. they are very important |
Omihanifa:Okay I understand what youre going through i have seen alot of cases like this.. all you have to do is to get an anti reflective transition lens to protect your eyes from direct exposure to the light. What you have is most likely "photophobia" Then as for the lashes, the condition is called trichiasis. Some of Your lashes are misdirected so they would cause a huge disturbance. You need to visit an optometrist near you, so that measures would be taken to remove the misdirected lashes, and provide you with comfort |
unclefresh:For the dry season itching & red eyes, its either an allergic conjunctivitis or a condition called dry eye syndrome. These conditions appear prominently in dry weather conditions with the sign and symptoms you have provided so you would have to see an eye doctor near you to be able to acertain which one it is before treatment can commence. As for the shadow that blocks your vision, you would have to see an eye doctor in person so that they can use an equipment to look into your eye to see if there are any irregularities |
transfer101:Where are you? I might have to see you in person |
Lekan1o1:You are most welcome. I’m here for you |
Lekan1o1:Think of prescription glasses as a medium to enable you see the world better than you had. I don't like to use the word “correct” because that would mean that the glasses are a permanent cure. The glasses help to compensate for the error thats causing you not to see clearly. “Cure” (neutrality) is mostly achieved amongst children of 8yrs or less.. but individuals who are older are less likely to attain neutrality, so you would have to stick to the glasses for better vision |
Lekan1o1:Here’s information that would help you manage the way you feel https://asktimon.com/why-do-my-eyes-feel-get-blurry-after-using-my-computer-for-a-while/ |
Nyerhovwo101:For as long as a month, the itching would have subsided, so deciding not to wear the glasses anymore wouldn't favour you much because you would realize that your vision is evidently better with the glasses on than off. So if you insist on taking the glasses off, after a while the eyes would cry for help again. So try to keep the glasses on |
Nyerhovwo101:Thats okay, im at your service |
Nyerhovwo101:Since drugs have not solved your problem, it then means that theres an underlying refractive error that needs correcting with the help of lenses, its like i said earlier.. itching is a sign that something is going on with the eyes. Its more like the eyes way of crying out for help. So please adhere to the doctors advice in other to attain relief. This would help you alot both physically and emotionally. |
Mikefrik:Hi, I get the picture you have tried to paint here; and its very likely something called a “refractive error”. You would have to visit an eye care specialist for refraction so that an appropriate lens power can be sorted out for you, to enable you see those prints clearer.. for more information on refractive errors, you can visit my blog www.asktimon.com |
Lekan1o1:Yes it should, but if it persists- it then means that you have an underlying error of refraction so, you would have to visit an eye clinic to be refracted and given glasses for a clearer view |
SEGLIZ:From about 45years and above, alot of people experience something called “presbyopia” this means that the eyes are loosing their ability to adapt to focusing properly at near. This is completely natural so you dont need to worry.. you just need glasses to help you see properly at near. Then for the itching, have you used any drugs before? And how long has it been itching you? |
Nyerhovwo101:“Itchy eyes” is a sign that something is going on in your eyes, and its been persistent.. so it’s probably an allergic response to something you have been exposed to. So there are different medications to sooth your problem and you might have to keep using it for as long as you’re exposed to that which youre allergic to. So i advise you re-visit an eye care specialist close to you for closer examination and management. Thank you |
Lekan1o1:Hello, I understand what youre going through and i know it can be really disturbing, but dont worry its not so big a problem. This condition is known as computer vision syndrome. You know? In other for the eyes to maintain focus at an abject very close to you, it needs to converge (come close together-toward your nose). and if you remain that way for a while, the eyes adapt to the focus at that distance. So when you take a break and try to see at far again you would notice the blur for a while until it clears out, or rather you adapt for that distance again.. So in other to avoid this, you need to observe a 20-20 rule when you use your phone or a computer. This means that as you stare at your phone, after a while just shift your gaze toward something far away for a while, then back to your phone. This would help reduce the strain you experience. Thank you |
