I mentioned this before. Will you rent a house sight unseen in lagos or ph or abuja? Will you not atleast see the place you want to rent first or atleast send a trusted person to look at it for you?

In Dubai the motto is trust no one as even family members can betray you talk more of unknown people you meet online. Budget funds for atleast a week stay in a cheap hotel in dubai. When you arrive you can start sourcing for shared accomodation. They are advertised everyday in the dailies and also online on dubbizle. justi4jesu has posted the link above. Go through the link and have a clear and unbiased opinion of how much it costs to rent accommodations in different areas of Dubai.

I believe im very equipped qualification wise as i have B.sc/IATA FOUNDATION AND MANAGEMENT levels which is the professional exam acknowledged in the industry globally and coupled with my 5yrs experience in the travel industry here in Nigeria I have a strong believe it will be hard for any one to dust me in an interview. i have also scheduled another ticketing training in dubai with AlSharaf aviation school just to show them that i also did something in dubai


I believe im well prepared for the journey im embarking on so im well prepared for the unknown.

Im seriously surprised at the level of response I got when I raise the question of hunting for a job in dubai.... Almost all of laughed and im wondering what the cause of that is.

Is it that I cant get a job in a travel company in dubai or even a travel agent job

Is it a question of not been qualified to obtain a job in that sector

I love to take risks and trust me those negative responses propels me to wanna venture into that same industry....

If you are looking for cheap apartment or studio doesn't mean you should go and live where you cant sleep peacefully.

You guys please be wise.............I have made it clear drumma searching for an apartment that 1500 aed or 2000 aed will not get him a studio that so he better thinks twice.

kelvin4jesu: Dont be Decieved, if you come UAE with tourist visa is a pity cos you will be at the mercy of human resources agents, pls be warned, say no to modern slavery of labour employment visa, where u will work like
elephant and eat like ant.
No Freezone zone Employment visa pls stay back.

justi4jesu: The area depends on the cost. You can't compare price of a studio in Dubai Marina or Jumeirah lake towers to Satwa or Deira.

Deira is cheaper and also the market is located there.

@ Teeklef... Im categorically telling u that u can apply for ur dubai visa via wakanow or any other established travel company.... As for travel agents? My hands are off mbok

N:B it is always advisable to have ur flight ticket before u request for a visa because they always will process your visa max 5 days prior ur travel date.

Most standard travel agencies in nigeria process dubai visa for 140$ and how do i know this, i used to work with wakanow and all through the industry thats the rate we charge.... Dont let anybody fool u we get sales by volume and that volumes increases our negotiating factor hence the reason its done for 25k and heres why if my company does visa at 25k for 100people asides the fact that im able to negotiate better visa offer from dubai, i am guaranteed that 70% of those people will come to me for hotel or flight and thats why most agencies do more of packages .... Dubai visa aint Gold

If my brain cells arent sleeping when i called my former office yesterday, im sure she told me its the same price for both 2weeks & 2months and they can give u three months at their own discretion... Price given was N25,000

You're fortunate to be in a position of power which is working for a recruiting firm and im sure you must have met with some nigerians who are qualified why cant you act like every arab, indian or filipino would and help your own people cos asides that i think your story sucks.....

Valemodi: Hi people, there's not a day I don't meet Nigerians who have been made to believe that Dubai is the midas touch for job opportunities.
Many are being duped by the notorious DEIRA guys, people get stranded with no place to stay.
I met a guy who was given 2 wiks tourist visa nd made to believe that he would get a direct train from Dubai to Canada.
Some are fortunate to get jobs themselves, some are unfortunate nd go back to Nigeria penniless, some are unwise, they decide to stay back, without papers ,they keep hiding from the police.
I am here on husband visa, so I didn't suffer that much .

I would like to hear other people's experience as well as be a compass to direct others rightly.

Brother this thing na one step after the other get to dubai first, settle down and chart your course on where and how to scout for the job whether na labor market or free zone... They both have their advantages and disadvantages.... Upon conclusion of my research i would go for labor visa any day any time its just praying to get a very gud one cos they seem to be established and since the primary purpose of going to dubai is for that purpose u at least wld enjoy job security for the time which your contract lapses...
