We are but human and yes it is good to ask for forgiveness. Remember Jesus asked his disciple about how many times one should forgive. You remember the answer.

And yes we should not abide in sin but should truly repent. However we can fall no matter how much we strive to walk in the light. It happens to the best and worst of us. It is not by our grace or our goodness or our power that heaven is open to us. It is only by GOD's grace and the way he has created via Jesus Christ his son.

Another thing that befalls a Christian is the memory of one's sins. It does happen especially when one sees reminders. Always remember that GOD has forgiven you especially if your repentance was true. He has wiped your past sins away. Do not abide in sin ...
