How will the seal bring food on the table of the poor people? How will it enhance the welfare of the citizens? The governor could have spent his previous time in thoughtful and creative programmes that impact positively on the people. Mr. Governor, pls put on your missing thinking cap! |
I am not sure if these people are not having pig heads! This is not devolution of power to render services to the hinterland but pure devolution of corruption and ineptitude to enrich the feasting vultures at the grassroots. When will these incorrigible leaders get it into their skulls that corruption and not the creation of unviable states is the root cause of all national malaise in Nigeria? These people are stiffnecked, blind, deaf, and wicked. May the Lord delay no more to rescue Nigeria by His means and ways in Christ Jesus' name, Amen. |
#The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a $45.3 million contract for the feasibility study and engineering design of a rail route linking four seaports in Nigeria’s western region Deep Sea Port, Tin Can Seaport, Apapa Seaport, and Lekki Seaport to the hinterlands.# IT BEATS MY IMAGINATION HOW THE CONTRACT SUM CAN BE JUSTIFIED FOR THE SCOPE OF THE WORK SPECIFIED! WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?? |
Corrupt people who had held powerful public positions and by implication participated in the destruction of Nigeria become false moralists and saints at their convenience when their relevance within the public space wanes. The best treatment for these thieves is to be held accountable for their misdeeds. But who will do that? Corruption can not probe corruption. |
Though I love TRUMP for his patriotism and nationalism BUT he should not forget that we are living in an interconnected world and no one can make a forest. Yes, the American interest should be his priority in dealing with the outside world provided it is done diplomatically and not condescendingly. The extremism with which Trump is going about with his Americanism is worrisomely counterproductive. The world is no longer a global village square where the American president is the only person dictating the course of events from the rostrum to the crowd gazing at the master. President Trump, thread softly! I do not doubt that all the Western countries involved in the tango will come out stronger as they will be forced to produce what they consume and depend less on imports. What are the strategies of the Nigerian leadership in this equation to promote national interests? I guess, they like the leaders before them, will continue stealing the commonwealth and stashing it away in the Western vaults. When will the Nigerian leaders have common sense?? |
“But I can tell you, we have taken out his second in command, we have taken out most of his lieutenants, in fact he is forced now to release most of the people under him. I am telling you that recently he is beginning to say that he doesn’t want anything, he is ready surrender,” General Musa said on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday. Despite Turji’s reported willingness to surrender, the Defence Chief maintained that anybody who has engaged in killing innocent citizens must not be spared. “We want to take everybody out. Anybody who has killed should go, people like him should not be allowed to stay,” General Musa said. GENERAL MUSA MUST BE HIGHLY COMMENDED FOR BEING THE MOSES OF THE NIGERIAN MILITARY WHICH IMAGE HAD BEEN BATTERED BEFORE NOW. THE DEMONS ARE NOT MUSLIMS BUT BLOOD THIRTY VAMPIRES WHO HATE LIFE. WE MUST NOT COMPENSATE VIOLENCE AND MURDER WITH REHABILITATION BUT WITH DETERENCE. GENERAL MUSA IS A PATRIOT. I ALSO COMMEND PRESIDENT TINUBU FOR THIS SINGULAR ACHIEVEMENT. I HATE NO ONE BUT EVIL. MY ALLEGIANCE IS SOLELY DEDICATED TO THE WELFARE OF NIGERIANS ESPECIALLY THE POOR PEOPLE. LEADERS SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO PERFORM BETTER THROUGH COMMENDATIONS AND ALSO PATRIOTICALLY CRITICISED IF GOING OFF COURSE. TINUBU, WHEN SHALL YOU START THE FIGHT AGAINST THE MOTHER OF ALL EVILS IN NIGERIA, CORRUPTION? |
''Afterwards, Mr Agunloye requested Mr Obasanjo’s approval to issue a letter of comfort to Sunrise Power for the BOT contract. In 2003, Mr Agunloye wrote a letter to Sunrise Power, awarding the contract.'' THE IDEAL LOGIC UNDERPINNING ANY BUILD-OPERATE-TRANSFER (BOT) PROJECT IS THAT ONE PARTY DESIRES TO INVEST IN A PROJECT WHERE THE INVESTOR BUILDS AND OPERATES FOR AN AGREED PERIOD, DURING WHICH THE INVESTED FUNDS ARE RECOUPED WITH PROFITS. THE MANAGING PARTY TRANSFERS THE PROJECT TO THE OTHER PARTY AT THE END OF THE AGREED PERIOD. IN THE ABSENCE OF CORRUPTION, THE INVESTOR EXCLUSIVELY FINANCES THE PROJECT WITHOUT ANY FINANCIAL BURDEN ON THE HOST PARTY. THE HOST'S CONTRIBUTION OF LAND AND MARKET FOR THE INVESTOR IS USUALLY CONSIDERED OPTIMUM. THEREFORE, I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND THE IDEA OF ''AWARDING A CONTRACT'' OF A BOT NATURE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SORT OF CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN AN INVESTOR AND A HOST PARTY. NIGERIA IS A FUNNY COUNTRY. ANY NOBLE AND BRILLIANT CONCEPT CAN BE TWISTED TO MASSAGE PECUNIARY INTERESTS TO THE DETRIMENT OF THE MASSES! |
Instead of using statutory legal weapons to get rid of these ''yeyebrities'' to preserve the young children from their influence, Nigeria, as a state, is complicit by silence. A responsive government will deploy legal instruments to preserve the moral sanctity of society. The easiest way to make money in a demonised society is to package and market all vices attributable to a perfect mad person. When will Nigeria adopt Trump's revolutionary and rectitudinous roadmap? |
No one should blame President Trump for believing in pan-Americanism and holding American interests supreme in policy implementation within and outside America. On the contrary, most Nigerian politicians will steal the people's commonwealth and keep it in the Western vaults to subsidise the living costs of their citizens while leaving the poor Nigerians hungry and thirsty for even a meal a day. We must clap endlessly for Trump for his unwavering patriotism and determination to lead America toward socio-economic and ethical rectitude. We simply need a Nigerian TRUMP who will trumpet the citizens' interests laud and clear in policy formulation and implementation. May God enthrone such a selfless leader sooner than expected. Nigeria will surely get there! |
The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Tax Policy and Fiscal Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, has described the period before the removal of the petrol subsidy in Nigeria as one characterized by “window-dressed realities.” Speaking at The Platform, an annual event organized by Covenant Nation in Lagos, Oyedele outlined how previous subsidy regimes perpetuated economic distortions that gave Nigerians a false sense of financial stability. Oyedele argued that while subsidies made fuel, electricity, and other essentials appear affordable, they masked the unsustainable fiscal realities underpinning the Nigerian economy. “Removing subsidies is the best decision we made as a country. And we can now say that for once, the subsidy is gone,” Oyedele stated. “We were living in window-dressed realities. If you look back to about two years ago, the naira exchange rate was N450 depending on who you asked. But was our exchange rate really N450? If you wanted to buy petrol, it was under N200 per litre, but was it really under N200 per litre?” MY THOUGHTS: TAIWO TYPIFIES THE CHARACTER AND QUALITY OF MOST OF TINUBU'S HENCHMEN GOVERNING NIGERIA. WHAT A PITY! EITHER HE DELIBRATELY TWISTS FACTS OR HE IS COMPLETELY IGNORANT OF WHAT GOVERNANCE IS ALL ABOUT RELATIVE TO THE WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE. WHAT IS THE ESSENCE OF GOVERNANCE IF IT AFFLICTS PEOPLE WITH POVERTY AND PROMOTES SOCIETAL INEQUALITY? WHERE IS THE LEGITIMACY OF GOVERNANCE IF POLICIES ARE NOT DRIVEN BY PEOPLE'S INTERESTS? GOVERNANCE IS TO PROMOTE THE WELFARE AND WELBEING OF THE PEOPLE BY IMPLEMENTING POLICIES THAT REWARD AND PROMOTE CREATIVITY THAT LEADS TO INDIVIDUAL AND CORPORATE GROWTH IN WEALTH, HEALTH, AND SECURITY. THESE OUTCOMES ARE ONLY REALISED IF GOVERNANCE IS CENTERED ON PEOPLE'S INTERESTS. BUT TO TINUBU'S LACKIES, PEOPLE SHOULD BE SACRIFICED AS LAMBS ON THE ALTAR OF GOVERNANCE. WHAT A PITY! DO THEY KNOW THE SO-CALLED SUBSIDY IS THE OUTCOME OF INEFFICIENCY AND CORRUPTION IN THE SYSTEM? THEY WANT NGERIANS TO CONTINUE TO BEAR THE BRUNT OF THE THIEVERY EVEN IF THEY ARE DYING! WHAT STUFF ARE THESE LEADERS MADE OF? MAY GOD ALMIGHTY ILLUMINATE THE HEART OF TINUBU FOR HIM TO TAKE THESE REDEMPTIVE ACTIONS: (a) REJIG HIS POLITICAL APPOINTMENT TO BRING ONBOARD PEOPLE OF INTEGRITY AND KNOWLEDGE. (b) CRACK DOWN ON CORRUPTION WITH HEAVY DETERRENCE STARTING WITH THE SO-CALLED UNTOUCHABLES (c) RESOLVE THE ISSUES OF TERRORISM AND VIOLENCE THROUGH THE COMBINED USE OF DIPLOMACY IN MEDIATION AND FORCE. (c) INVEST HEAVILY IN INFRASTRUCTURE LIKE GOOD ROADS, RAILWAYS, WATERWAYS, AND ELECTRICITY TO ENCOURAGE INVESTMENTS AND INDUSTRIALISATION (d) ASSIST THE ORGANISED REAL FARMERS WITH SOFT LOANS, SUBSIDISED TRACTOR SERVICES, AND FERTILISERS FOR MASS FOOD PRODUCTION. ENCOURAGE BUSINESSES TO SET-UP AGRO COTTAGES INDUSTRIES WITHIN THE VICINITIES (e) REHABILITATE THE HEALTH FACILITIES TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE AND QUALITY HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO THE PEOPLE (f) RE-DESIGN THE EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM TO ENHANCE GRADUATES' EMPLOYABILITY AND INDEPENDENCE. IF THE ABOVE GUIDELINES ARE IMPLEMENTED, THE NAIRA VALUE WILL UPGRADE AND PEOPLE WILL LIVE WELL IN PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE. INSTEAD OF THE LEADERS LISTENING TO THE CRY OF THE PEOPLE AND IMPLEMENTING REMEDIES, THEY ARE BUSY TRADING BLAME AND ABUSING THE SENSIBILITIES OF THE CHEATED NIGERIANS. IT IS INSULTING TO TELL VICTIMS OF CORRUPTION THAT THEY ARE LIVING IN ''WINDOW-DRESSING REALITIES''. THAT IS GROSS DISPLAY OF THOUGHTLESSNESS AND CRASS IGNORANCE BY TAIWO. |
Trump is a blessing to ALL FAITHS in the world. His firmness, predictability, and lack of political correctness are already yielding dividends of peace and coexistence even before he is sworn in. GOD raises him to trumpet Divine culture and values to humanity that were hitherto consigned to the dustbin of immorality under the disguise of human rights! How witty and senseless can some leaders be! I thank God that trangenderism, homosexuality, bestiality and other satanic values designed from the pit of hell will now be disabled from the lexicon of human rights. No faith traceable to God imbibes these values that dehumanise humanity. May God never allow the emergence of any leader in the world who will subscribe to and propagate values that negate sanity to promote vices that destroy the natural human values ecosystem. May God's name ever be praised in CHRIST JESUS NAME. May God protect good leaders throughout the world, dethrone the bad ones, and enthrone good leaders who are still outside the corridor of power, so that the poor, vulnerable, aged, and weak people can freely breathe well and comfortably. |
“NGOs are deeply involved in this arms inflow. They have ulterior motives here. They deceive us with mosquito nets, donate insecticides and give us some dollars to support infrastructure but make millions of dollars from arms sales, mineral resources export etc. And most of the weapons are sold very cheap to terrorists and bandits, as cheap as $5, $8, $10.According to The Vanguard, it was reported that recently, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, called on the Federal Government to invite the United Nations to investigate how terrorists and bandits in Nigeria are still receiving arms despite the military's strong efforts." THIS TOWN CRY SUGGESTS THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE FULL CONTROL OVER THE SOVEREIGNTY OF NIGERIA. HOW RIDICULOUS IT IS INDEED THAT THE GOVERNMENT CAN INDIRECTLY ACCEPT THE INABILITY TO DISCHARGE THE PRIME RESPONSIBILITY THAT LEGITIMISES ANY GOVERNMENT WHICH IS TO ENSURE THE PEOPLE AND THEIR PROPERTIES ARE SECURED AND SAFE. THE BANDITS ARE WITHIN NIGERIA, AND YOU ALLEGE THAT NGOs SUPPLY ARMS TO THE BANITS. YET YOU ARE DEMANDING A RIDICULOUS EXPLANATION FROM THE UNITED NATIONS TO SUBSTANTIATE THE ALLEGATION NOT MADE BY THEM? HOW SENSIBLE IS THIS? YOU KNOW THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE NGOs WITHOUT ARRESTING AND PROSECUTING THEM IN THE OPEN, BUT DECIDED TO COME AND CRY TO THE PUBLIC? FOR THE PUBLIC TO ARREST AND PROSECUTE THE ARMS SUPPLIERS? I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE LOGIC! BANDITRY, KIDNAPPING, ARMED ROBBERY, HERDSMEN MENACE, AND OTHER ARMED GROUPS ARE THE OUTCOMES OF RELATIVE DEPRIVATION IMPOSED ON THE VICTIMS BY THE SYSTEM INJUSTICE IN THE TAG OF CORRUPTION. THE PROBLEM IS THAT NIGERIA LACKS LEADERS WITH THE CAPACITY, HONESTY, TRUTH, SELFLESSNESS, FEAR OF GOD, AND THE RIGHT MODUS OPERANDI TO RESOLVE THE CHALLENGES BUILT OVER DECADES. INSTEAD OF ENGAGING PEOPLE WITH THE RIGHT HEADS AND THE RIGHT HEARTS TO FORMULATE AND IMPLEMENT POLICIES, THE SUCCESSIVE NIGERIAN LEADERS DONATE GOVERNMENT POSITIONS AS TROPHIES FOR HEGEMONIC ALLEGIANCE ON THE ALTAR OF SERVITUDE AND BLIND LOYALTY NOT TO THE NATION BUT TO THE GRANDMASTER SEATED ON THE HIGHEST TABLE. I HAVE ALWAYS TRUMPETED THE FACT THAT NIGERIANS ARE THE MOST RESOURCEFUL, HARDWORKING, EASY-GOING, AND COMPLACENT PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE JOURNEY OF OVER 6 DECADES. WHAT THE COUNTRY NEEDS IS A LEADER WHO IS CAPABLE OF HARNESSING THE PEOPLE'S TALENTS FOR THE RAPID TRANSFORMATION OF THE COUNTRY TO AN ENVIABLE HEIGHT WITHIN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY. UNTIL THEN WHEN GOD SHALL INTERVENE BY PROVIDENCE, IT IS SELF-DECEIT CONTINUA! |
“But I am not going to do that. I have chosen not to speak about the economy and the reforms or to even explain anything. Because if I explain it will help this government and I don’t want to help this government. SANUSI, THOUGH YOU HAVE VOICED OUT YOUR MIND ABOUT YOUR REASON FOR KEEPING SILENT, I NEED TO CORRECT YOU THAT NIGERIANS WILL BENEFIT AND NOT THE GOVERNMENT IF YOU OFFER RESEMPTIVE ADVICE TO THE GOVERNMENT IN THE EVENT YOU HAVE ANY AS YOU CLAIM. “They’re my friends, if they don’t behave like friends, I don’t behave like a friend. I watched them being stewed and they don’t even have people with credibility who can come and explain what they are doing. THE ABOVE STATEMENTS SUMMED YOUR INNATE PERSONALITY TRAITS. YOU PROJECT YOURSELF A GREEDY AND SELF-SERVING MAN WHO WILL DEFEND FRIENDS' POLICIES AT ALL COSTS WHEN YOUR SELFISH DESIRES ARE MET, NOTWITHSTANDING THE MAGNITUDE OF ADVERSITIES SUCH POLICIES MIGHT IMPOSE ON THE HAPLESS NIGERIANS. YOU ARE A TYPICAL NIGERIAN POLITICIAN WHO WILL ONLY CRITICISE GOVERNMENTS THAT REFUSE TO PATRONISE THEM BUT ARE SWIFT TO DEFEND BAD GOVERNMENTS WITH ALL SORTS OF EXCUSES SIMPLY BECAUSE THERE ARE INFLOWS OF FILTHY LUCRE TOWARDS THEM. HOW CAN NIGERIA MOVE FORWARD WITH THESE TYPES OF SELF-STYLED LEADERS? “I’m not going to help! Let them come and explain to Nigerians why the policies that are being pursued are being pursued. Meanwhile, I am watching a movie with popcorn in my house. I CAN UNDERSTAND YOUR FRUSTRATION WITH THE GOVERNMENT FOR NOT GIVING YOU THE DESIRED ATTENTION FOR PERSONAL GAINS. IF THE GOVERNMENT HAD DEFERRED TO YOU, YOU COULD HAVE HELPED THE GOVERNMENT TO EXPLAIN THEIR POLICIES TO THE PEOPLE, PRINCIPALLY TO ADMONISH THEM TO BEAR THE T-PAIN BECAUSE THE HARDSHIP IS THE OUTCOME OF A SERIES OF MISGOVERNANCE BY THE PREVIOUS REGIMES. SANUSI, THE PEOPLE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN TUTORIALS BUT IN SEEING CREDIBLE POLICIES BEING IMPLEMENTED THAT GIVE IMMEDIATE AND LONG-TERM RELEIVES! TRANSFORMATIONAL POLICIES ARE NOT ROCK SCIENCE BUT PRODUCTS OF COMMON SENSE BY STUDYING THE NATURE OF THE HARDSHIP AND DESIGNING POLICIES TO AMELIORATE THEM. FOR EXAMPLE, COMMONSENSE DICTATES THAT INSTEAD OF GIVING A FEW BAGS OF RICE TO MILLIONS OF NIGERIANS TO SHARE IN THE NAME OF PALLIATIVE, PROVIDING THE ORGANISED FARMERS WITH SUBSIDISED TRACTORS AND FETILISER WILL GO A LONG WAY TO INCREASE FARM PRODUCE TO QUENCH THE RAVAGING HUNGER IN THE LAND. CONCURRENTLY, THE GOVERNMENT COMBATS THE MENACE OF HERDSMEN, BANDITS, AND KIDNAPPERS BY DEPLOYING THE DUAL CONFLICT RESOLUTION TOOLS OF FORCE AND MEDIATION TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEMS THAT HAVE ENCOURAGED MASS EXODUS OF FARMERS IN NIGERIA IN THE RECENT YEARS MAKE NO MISTAKE, I AM NOT A FAN OF THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT BUT OF GOOD GOVERNANCE AND NIGERIANS. THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT ARE POPULATED WITH PEOPLE OF DISCORDANT TONES, MOST OF WHOM ARE DRIVEN BY SELFISHNESS AND NOT CREDIBLE AND ACCOUNTABLE NATIONAL SERVICE. TINUBU LIKE BUHARI HAVE TRAGICALLY FAILED NIGERIANS WITH A CLEAR LACK OF RESEMPTIVE POLICIES AND GOVERNING NIGERIA AS A PERSONAL ESTATE. I PRAY THE GOVERNMENT RECEIVES DIVINE LIGHT TO TAKE IT OUT OF THE UTTER DARKNESS WITHIN WHICH THEY ARE PRESENTLY OPERATING. MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON NIGERIA BY ILLUMINATING THE HEARTS OF THE LEADERS WITH BRILLIANT IDEAS THAT WILL SALVAGE THE PATHETIC CONDITIONS OF NIGERIANS. GOD BLESS NIGERIA IN CHRIST JESUS NAME! |
To perpetually hold on to power, the governing methodology of a typical Nigeria politician is this: Voraciously loot the commonwealth to impoverish the people with instability so much that they cannot feed themselves. Then, take the minute percentage of the loot to palliate them at their lowest moments, so as to create an image of a godsent messiah to ensure people's continued allegiance and dependence. At that stage, the politician becomes an indispensable idol to the people as the election can thereafter be effectively won through pauperism but symbolically the ballot box. GOD who searches the reins of people's hearts is watching and His sovereign will be established at His own timing. Thank God that He is smarter than everyone. People can independently provide for themselves with dignity if the government creates the right socio-economic environment for everyone to freely express their talents and knowledge to achieve set goals. Nigeria which is presently in a coma has been raped for decades by the successive rulers of the country. When will our gracious GOD in Christ Jesus release His messiah for the salvation of the country? Oh Lord, make haste lest the people perish! |
Instead of outsourcing the rebranding, Nigeria can easily sail to the land of rebranding using the vehicles of anticorruption with stern deterrence, good infrastructure, excellent human development indices, and a level playing ground for unhindered free expression of talents for individual and corporate growth. It seems the forces of initial and retrogression have encircled Tinubu's government with the masses paying the ultimate distressful price. May God Almighty bail the country from the grip of misrule in Christ Jesus's name. |
“As we are trying to fix, reconfigure and correct past mistakes and errors, we implore all Nigerians to cooperate with us, endure this unintentional hardship so that, like the graduates of today, we all can celebrate and be celebrated at the end of the day.'' My comments: Obama's unexpected victory in the presidential election was sudden because the American economy collapsed overnight. The electorates were jittery and decided to vote for a hitherto unknown black man out of frustration. Within six months of his presidency, Obama's economic policy results rekindled the dwindling hopes of the Americans. He invested heavily in infrastructure to create jobs and encourage investments. It paid off. He was not on an economic trial-and-error mission, rather, he meticulously studied the prevailing socioeconomic system to design the policies to emancipate the economy. Oga Tinubu, you have spent about two years in government. Nigerians' little hope is lost because the economy has taken a downward dive as a result of corruption, ineptitude, and cluelessness that have defined your administration. The tone of your epistle shows that you are far away from the realities and correction of your errors is not identified, appreciated or contemplated. That is the tragedy that I see! Please start searching for your errors instead of pontificating on the errors committed by the previous administrations, by engaging capable and incorruptible hands to help run your administration that will bring succour to the masses and revamp the economy from a consumer-type to a productive vibrant one. May God's mercy in Christ Jesus deliver you from spiritual hackers! |
KEMI can be the next British Prime Minister, and at that stage, even now, her words carry more international impacts than those of the Nigerian leaders. Nigeria needs her more than she needs Nigeria if Kemi ever needs the country. Why does the Nigerian leadership find joy in digging more holes of despair with their utterances? This young international star who has broken all boundaries at this tender age is an invaluable asset to the black race particularly Nigeria if well handled, but the spite of the Nigerian leaders with their linguistic diarrhoea has destroyed the opportunity. These leaders grossly lack diplomacy and finesse in international political engagement to achieve short and long-term national interests The super communication technology that has constricted the world into a small hamlet enables the world to know that toxic corruption and terrorism remain the national signatures of Nigeria, so, Kemi is not revealing any secrete that is unknown to the world. What is her crime then? |
Anyone who hates has a lasting relationship with backwardness, The nature and signature of the Nigerian leadership and \nigerians is the passion for hatred. WHAT HAS KEMI SAID THAT IS NOT TRUE? I find it to rationalise how people can leave the substance to chase the show just because of their undivorceable love for lies. To the gods, any criticism is false, a shadow of hatred, unpatriotism. For the progressive minds, criticisms are mirrors for self-refection for possible corrections of attitudes and methods, especially after careful analysis of the criticisms and found to be constructive. But for the regressive minds, all criticisms are challenges and invitations to the boxing ring. Instead of blaming Kemi for telling the truth, Nigeria should concentrate on repairing the nation's leaking roof caused by hails of corruption. |
The Federal Government is borrowing money N700bn from the World Bank to buy and distribute free electricity meters to Nigerians. I cannot understand the logic behind this variant of looting economics adopted by the government. Will the government borrow money to pay their bills? As the poor people in Nigeria outnumber the meters, what will be the yardstick for the distribution of the meters? What the people need is empowerment by creating an enabling environment and NOT free rice, oil, and meters from the government. It is immoral to steal the people's commonwealth and use the filthy lucre to impoverish them through the so-called free service delivery. The funds will ultimately end in private pockets through misappropriation, disappropriation, corrupt patronage, and inflated contract execution. It could have been good for the funds to be used in establishing farm centres across the country to provide subsidised agricultural tractor and input services to the peasant farmers. It seems the government is bereft of ideas to move the country forward or has the idea but driven by corruption to gather the money that they don’t need to live well. |
In my very humble opinion, I think the carnival is ill-timed and serves the flesh of the organisers and the top echelon in society. HOW WILL THE CARNIVAL PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE OF THE POOR KOGITES WHO GO TO BED ON EMPTY TOMMIES? HOW WILL IT HELP CREATE JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE JOBLESS YOUTH ROAMING THE STREETS? HOW WILL IT EMPOWER PARENTS TO TAKE THEIR WARDS BACK TO SCHOOL? It is like a husband whose children and wife are dying of hunger diverts the home feeding budget to sponsor a beer-drinking competition. Kogi, like other states in Nigeria, are in a mourning mood because neighbours are dying of hunger and preventable diseases. Just imagine if the carnival's budget were utilised to provide free or subsidised simple farming motorised implements and fertilisers to verified practising farmers in Kogi state. The impact of waste on the people is too costly in these austere times. Nigeria is in a dire strait which suggests the urgent rescue of the people from decimation should be a top priority to those in government, and they should invest every naira in programs that uplift the masses. I joyfully lack the wisdom to understand how the carnival will satisfy this objective. |
The tailor-senator's speech though reflects the character and the stealing objective that propels most Nigerian politicians. No public official in a sane clime will remain in office after making this reckless statement because of the people's backlash. But he has spoken the situational truth peculiar to Nigeria which underscores the importance of enthroning the right characters in government. The senator's statement is representative of his crowd in government and suggests that policy formulation and implementation in Nigeria is founded on selfish interests and not for the public good. In this instance, their support for the tax reform bill will be to devolve corruption to the local government level so that more money is made available at the lower governance strata for stealing. What a thought! This senator was a poor tailor in Kaduna and dubiously rode on the vehicle of anti-corruption activism to power only to turn back to annihilate his poor constituency. He is now a billionaire but was in the pit of penury during his days of activism and climbed the ladder of corruption to the top when he found himself in government. This is typical of most Nigerian politicians. Do they have a conscience at all? When will they allow people to live well through transformational, responsive, and inclusive governance founded on the tripod of justice, fairness, and equity? |
To have shielded the identity of the commonwealth robber from public knowledge, one may deduce as follows: - He is not alone in the theft, and the criminal gang gathered their synergy to prevail on the prosecuting and other government agencies, thereby, making all the groups guilty of the same crime. - Corruption is officially licensed to a few privileged ones instead of being sanctioned! - Anti-social oddities are crimes only when committed by the less privileged in Nigeria. - The so-called anti-corruption drive in Nigeria is a veiled scam that promotes crimes and criminals for the acquisition of filthy lucre by those in government. - There are two laws in the country: the written ones which must be obeyed by the poor people and the more superior unwritten laws empowering the influential Nigerians to disobey the statutes. This is a classical case of misgovernance! So far, Nigeria is a lawless country, a huge joke, a fast-failing state successively ruled by insincere, selfish, insensitive, and wicked principalities whose joy and contentment feed on peoples' misery, impoverishment, and frustration. what a pity! When shall God pity the weak and bastardised populace by intervening to shape the circumstances that will enthrone those who will selflessly serve the people? May God delay no more as thousands of Nigerians are dying daily due to the diverse chain effects of corruption. Tinubu, Tinubu, Tinubu, when will thou start to change the compass of Nigeria? Receive the Divine grace to start NOW in Christ Jesus' name! |
Nigeria occupies the unenviable number one position for having numerous government policies and plans with zero success. Why? Until corruption, which funnels funds into private accounts, is beheaded, the welfare of Nigeria and Nigerians will continue to be under intense siege and assault! Any government that cuddles and pampers corruption transforms into a theatre of jokers and jesters! When will Tinubu wake up from slumber and start dealing with corruption? |
Could the successive Nigerian leaders who have systematically built on the rots and decays of CORRUPTION that sentence the poor people to the eternal prison of hunger, frustration, and dehumanisation be called human beings? Could they be demons with disguised human morphology sent from the pit of hell? Are they satanic aliens visiting the earth's planet through Nigeria on a mission of using human beings in the experimental laboratory of wickedness? How can the supposed humans be so wicked, senseless, impervious, and selfish for draining the already famished people to blossom? I urge President Tinubu to break the jinx by breaking the curse of corruption reigning over Nigeria. Fight corruption without mercy without which all noble objectives and efforts in place will be a mirage. Tinubu, don't listen to the undertaker-choristers in and out of your government. Instead, listen to critics to explore the import of their criticism and see whether they are constructive or not. May you receive Divine grace that is already available to do the right thing and set a good record for yourself and your lineage. Remi, advise your husband. Be a good pastor to your husband first before climbing the pulpit! What can we do other than continue to pray for my dear country and the leaders for God to touch their hearts? |
There are so many technical colleges, Polytechniques, and Universities of Technology littering all over Nigeria. Instead of equipping the institutions, retraining the lecturers, funding research institutions, and empowering those poor talents who have already shown their worth, these so-called leaders are clamouring for an additional technical college that will go the way of others. These clowns are only loyal to their bank accounts and accountable to their greed. They are indeed undertakers and devourers and not leaders. What a shame! |
Unfortunately, these church pulpit invaders are sponsored from the pit of hell to stand in the way of sinners to prevent them from repenting and to sit in the seat of the scornful to mislead the gullible vulnerable people. What a pity! To Christians, I say unto you: Thou shall not take the pastors as your standard but the Bible. Read it, meditate on it, and apply it as you hope and patiently wait for our Lord Jesus Christ who will return any moment to zap His own from this evil world. To the non-Christians out there, I admonish you: Her types are not Christians but church merchants and fifth columnists. Therefore, you should not be discouraged from engaging in critical comparative evaluations to decide whether to become a Christian or not. |
The senility and callosity of the senator attempt to confer validity on the theory of evolution which I could have accepted if I were not a convinced Christian. It seems the disruptive Nigerian leaders, though with the appropriate physical morphology, are still evolving and yet to attain the realm of human beings. For a fact, many Nigerian rulers have devalued themselves to the level of apes! What a disservice to God Almighty who created us human beings! |
People who criticise Reno and people of his character are wasting their precious time. Integrity and principles maketh a man and NOT greed, selfishness, and lousiness in the hot mindless pursuit of mundane filthy lucre. |
Judging from all metrics, one can comfortably conclude that a major portion of this debt is siphoned into the foreign and local accounts of corrupt government officials and their cronies. No wonder the infrastructure is under systematic decay and Nigerians are plunging deeper into the pit of poverty as every Nigerian, according to the Debt Management Office Report, is sentenced to a debt of N620,000 which is attributable to the recklessness of the successive leadership in Nigeria. The past and present corrupt leaders and their allies out there are overdue to be probed and sentenced with heavy deterrence that will be an unmistakable signal to all Nigerians that no matter how long it takes, justice will prevail over the power of corruption. May God enthrone that righteous leader in Christ Jesus's name in no distant time! |
I will elect to listen to the message and not the messenger. Obasanjo truthfully traced the national problems to leadership failure driven by toxic corruption. I credit Obasanjo for speaking out but it is on record that his contribution to Nigeria's signature of infamy is significantly and generationally impactive on the socio-economic wellbeing of Nigeria and Nigerians. The president who will rescue Nigeria is the one who leads by example and strictly applies the principle of tone at the top. Hitherto, Nigeria has been presided over by leaders of hypocrisy and masters of deception who only criticise the system when it runs against the tide of their greed and not for the sake of good and accountable governance that will benefit the present and future generations. |
The lawyer and his circle are angry because Bwala insulted Tinubu and party members during the presidential campaign. He adduced another reason that Tinubu dumped some party loyalists without appointments. It may be concluded that according to the lawyer's epistle, merit, desire and ability for patriotic national service should not be the prime criteria for an appointment but party loyalty and idolatry worship of emperors by the willing serfs! This is sadly the retrogressive system and political tradition in Nigeria today where the leaders transform themselves into shrines with the diehard followers ever pouring the libation of prostrations (''dobale'') and praise-singing just to guarantee the continued stealing of the commonwealth to satisfy their narrow selfish passions, without consideration for the reverberating negative effects on the people. No wonder Nigeria is where it is as blind worship, nepotism, clientelism, and greed displace merit in governance. Make no mistake, I am not and will never be a fan of Bwala and his likes. His shamelessness in licking his vomit shows that Bwala is devoid of principle in life, and more interested in building his stomach infrastructure than rendering any meaningful national service. But instead of the lawyer addressing the issues of merit regarding Bwala's morality and dispositions and articulating how these flaws question his ability to perform maximally while in office, he decided to equally become unpatriotic by his selfish clamour to reward party loyalists solely because they are faithful to the president and the party. The nation cannot develop if leaders and followers imbibe this type of mentality and approach to leadership issues. We should learn to embrace knowledgeability, integrity, selflessness, and incorruptibility as the yardsticks for appointing and electing people in Nigeria. |
In 1982 after my one-year national service in Sokoto and while working with the consultants that supervised the Goronyo Dam project, Niger Republic was a stone's throw to visit. The relative comfort in Nigeria as compared with the Niger Republic was outstanding. On those good days, N1,000 would fetch 472,563.34 CFA francs, but today, it is a mere 372.53 CFA francs for N1,000. The people of Niger Republic were all over Nigeria as guards and street beggars but currently, the reverse is the case. Nigerians now find the desert Niger Republic a better comfort zone than Nigeria. Kudos to the successive impunity of corruption in the Nigerian leadership! The country is comatose and needs urgent resurrection through the surgical operation of transformational and inclusive leadership rooted on the tripod of justice, fairness, and equity. Until the so-called untouchables, the past and present corrupt leaders who have impoverished Nigerians, are made public examples through retributive justice to serve as deterrence to others, Nigeria cannot make any progress. I am, however, positive that God will raise foresighted and selfless leaders to reconstruct the country to the envy of the whole world. YES, HE WILL in Christ Jesus' name! |
