Beautifulday: Then something is wrong with Nigeria system of production.
The imported rice are bought. At what price that the local counterparts can't compete favourably?
The imported rice are transported from host nation. Initiate logistics cost isn't available in Nigerian rice production.
The imported rice incurs clearing cost which Nigerian rice do not suffer.
The imported rice has more processing value than local rice. Processing cost
The big question.
How is imported rice cheaper than local rice
Local man is confused Low yield, poor management, expensive energy, transportation? |

A friend of my enemy cannot be my friend. What can Israelis offer China better than cheap oil China gets from Iran?
You seems to be very close to Xi Jin Pin. You should check first before responding; don’t be Nigerian: loud and wrong. Besides America, Israel is the top tech nation. Iran has oil and nothing more. If you remove all Israeli tech from your life you’d be miserable. Go and verify |

Mattswaggz: The US has hundreds of military bases spread across the globe so this much is expected...... meanwhile Nigeria is a rich country (Natural resource wise) and poor country (Leadership and Citizens wise)......For Nigeria to grow and earn it's respect a majority of the people will have to think at a higher IQ rate and learn some basic morals like patriotism, honesty, Altruism, being more logical than religious etc but that is still far from happening as it stands. Nigeria is not a rich country given its population vs resources. I don’t know where this idea comes from. Presidents like obasanjo even try to correct that nothing but people love the lie. Even if the funds are not stolen, the quality of the people will still make it a poor nation. No rich nation has this many illiterates. |

njokuuche77: How long will this trial continue? One of the reasons corruption remains high in Nigeria is because cases like this take too long to conclude. When trials drag on for years, it sends a message that there are no real consequences. Some public office holders take advantage of the slow legal process, filing endless appeals, using technicalities, and relying on delays, knowing that the longer a case lasts, the more likely people will forget or lose interest. Justice delayed only encourages more corruption. If we truly want to fight corruption, cases must be handled faster and more decisively. Who is we? The United Kingdom should fight corruption for you… |

MgbakorUche: Nigeria just pulled off the biggest act of economic rebellion since independence — and the West is not happy. While most people argue about fuel prices, something deeper is happening: Tinubu quietly ended the 40-year subsidy drain that bled ₦7 trillion yearly. Dangote built a $20 billion refinery that can refine 650,000 barrels daily, ending our dependence on imported petrol. Nigeria’s GDP is set to expand by $25 billion, and Africa’s fuel bill could shrink by $60 billion. Meanwhile, the U.S. and Europe, who once sold us refined products are watching their market disappear. Trump’s latest speech on Nigeria hides behind religion, but the real anxiety is economic sovereignty. A black nation controlling its own energy destiny. Yes, there are labor issues, union battles, and billions owed to Chinese constructors — but that’s what revolutions look like: messy, loud, and unstoppable. 🔗 Read the full breakdown on Substack: [https://open.substack.com/pub/theafricansignal/p/trump-vs-dangote?r=5v63zm&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false] 25 billion is chicken change. Dangote buys crude from America and sells. Nobody cares about some damn refinery. Nigerians in Texas are putting pressure on senator Ted Cruz to act on their behalf. Ted Cruz in turn is putting pressure on the us president to act concerned. If the terrorists kill 100000 people in Benue tomorrow, the us will do nothing because it does not care. This is just a pressure campaign; nothing more. Black country with its destiny that negotiates with killer bandits. Wake up!!!! |

That's not how international diplomacy works. Not everyone is crude like Trump.

Kushites: You're using Ukraine to console yourself.
Russia will never nuke Ukraine, which it sees as Russian territory. Russia is a major ally - military and economic - with Iran, with billions of dollars worth of investments in Iran.
Russia will not sit idly by and watch America crush Iran.
Putin has warned them. You think Trump should disobey him?
You don't like your life, I swear. Did you actually read the “warning”? With people like you, it can never be well with Nigeria. |
