After about a month of preparation in December 2022, my spouse and I took IELTS on the 3rd of January 2023. Me: L:8.5, W:7.0, S:8.0, R:9.0 Spouse: L:7.5, W:6.5, S:7.0, R:7.0
*While we didn't rewrite since I was the primary applicant, I learnt that one has to max out the scores as much as one can.
After WES and gathering other documents, we entered the pool on May 2nd 2023. We were excited and planning our exit for December 2023, particularly after the draw earlier (I think in April) that was 481 or 479. It gave us hope that the scores would keep reducing, as ours was 475. If only we knew.
*I learnt that patience, practicality and humility are needed on this journey.
Well, on November 1st 2023, I started learning French after seeing that nothing was going to happen if we didn't act. Other options, like study, also didn't make sense to us. I mean, we already conceived of the idea of EE since 2020, when a boss/friend told us about it. And we had bided our time until 2023, saving and trying to be a bit stable for the journey.
*I learnt that goals make "tough" requirements of us, hence, we have to be sure of our commitment towards our goals.
In February, though, we got Ontario's NOI, and it was wonderful because writing TCF/TEF wouldn't have been until around Oct to Dec later in 2024. We gathered our documents and applied as soon as we could. I continued learning French also. This was a difficult time as we also lost a huge chunk of our savings.
Then the wait began. We had anticipated a two- or at most four-month wait, as a friend had.
*I learnt that different batches could be treated differently, and what happened to someone else even four months ago might no longer apply to one. On this journey, it's best always to seek information and stay constantly updated.
By July, I was in B2 and was thinking that I'd register for the exam later in the year. Our excitement about leaving in 2023 was turned into humility when we were faced with reality.
In August, a week to conclude B2 in French, we got Ontario's nomination. I was elated. About two weeks later, we got the elusive ITA (as I already tagged it).
After our AOR in September, we were excited and hopeful that we could leave in early 2025. IRCC had other plans.
*I learnt that, as of right now, PNP EE applications are treated differently (for instance, they have a different processing time to the normal EE pathway) and are mostly sent to the Vancouver visa office (VO). This might change, but that was my experience. I scoured NL for people with my primary visa office and didn't find.
After getting PAL on February 3rd, when we were expecting RFV/PPR, I had to discard the idea of when I thought we'd leave.
Long story short, after several webforms, panicking, distress, despair, expiration and renewal of my spouse's passport, as well as calls to IRCC, the FD came at its own time.
At this time, I had written DELF B2 (French diploma exam). We didn't know what an FD looked like, so for like two weeks, we thought it was IP2. Still, we continued calling IRCC because our tracker already showed completed all through and we had our CoPR number. After much research, I saw that we had our FD.
Now, I was more worried. What was delaying the PPR/RFV? IRCC customer care told us to be on the lookout. They said our application was good and nothing was needed. We sent an email to the minister's office, and we got a response saying that our application was in the final stages and we would be contacted for the final process. This was relieving, but it was short-lived.
May ended.
June came and went. My distress soared.
July came and was going. My heart was plunging.
*Please, if you can, get as much information and help from people in your shoes. Everyone's experience is different. Find someone with a similar experience if you need real help.
Calls to IRCC informed us that our Primary visa office (PVO) was Vancouver, while the secondary visa office (SVO) was Sydney. At this point, they said our SVO was now Accra. Apparently, this delay was a common experience and reaching out to Accra was the trick. That's what we did.
And the whole story changed. 3 days to the 10th month, we got our RFV.
I read long stories like this while we waited, and thought it'd be great to contribute.
Wishing everyone all the best!
Thankful to everyone who was helpful here, and especially @graciouswords whom I disturbed but remained kind all through.
CommonSense1967: Read the articles. That's already explained in the articles. The debt got worse mostly because he gave tax breaks to wealthy Americans and some corporations. It's ok to do that, but you have to cut somewhere else. You can reduce income without reducing expenditure. Trump inherited a good economy from Obama. Trump didn't do jack besides running his mouth and making unrealistic promises that he failed to keep such as making Mexico to pay for the wall and replacing Obama care. In fact, 9 years after he made that promise, he can't even explain what his own plan is. H said he has a "concept " after 9 long years. Na mouth he get. At the end of the day, the most important reason why he's running, is to stay out of prison. He will end up in prison if he loses the election.
A lot of inaccurate information here but I'll reserve my comment till I read said article.
A simple Google search would help you. Trump shot the national debt through the roof.
Look buddy, I have seen you trolling all over posts here on NL and from your post it is clear you do not know what you are talking about and just hopped on to troll yet again.
CommonSense1967: US has always been in serious debt as back s I can remember. Debt as always been an issue in every election as far back as 1988 when I stated paying attention to US elections. Most importantly, the debt status didn't get better under Trump. He actually made it worse. Go and read up about US debt under Trump.
This is wrong and incorrect. The US debt crisis got a lot better under Trump and he was vilified for "bringing back american jobs".
giveburns: I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve with this but I have one advice for you: LEARN TO DOUBT YOUR THOUGHTS SO THAT WAY, YOU ARE MOTIVATED TO DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE ASSERTING YOURSELF!
Writing in all caps does not make it pertinent.
What I said about the media and their divisive rhetorics applies. The goal of most of media especially in this season isn't to inform but to inundate.
So you can be so easily manipulated by a picture you see on the internet?
Is your IQ that low?
That woman was a black American woman with mental illness, who lived 200 miles away from Springfield.
She was not a Haitian.
How do you know the racist white Trump supporters did not find some random addict of which there are millions in America, give her 20 dollars to pose with fur on her lips so they could post on social media to validate Trump’s claims?
IT IS THE EASIEST THING IN THE WORLD TO DO.
In fact you can get 1,000 pictures of that sort in America if you want.
SO USE YOUR DAMN BRAIN AND STOP BEING A MUMU, EASY TO MANIPULATE.
I find it funny how the only ground you stand on is that the photos might be doctored. Speculation.
Here is police cam footage of such an incident happening in Ohio
Nicklee: Focus on praying for the Nigeria that Trump called a shit-hole. Can't even elect sensible leaders in Nigeria or 'pray' for sensible leadership - yet, you want to carry US matter for head.
Predator188: Canada won't care of your land, improve your credibility and strong immigration history, start with schegen area states.,visit any of the countries and return, this is only related to you.
Apparently lands and property deeds work. Thanks for your feedback.
You can prove your ties to Nigeria with any of the following:
Family and Social Documents 1. Birth certificate 2. Marriage certificate (if married) 3. Kids' birth certificates (if you're a parent) 4. Evidence showing your family is in Nigeria 5. Documents reflecting community involvement or memberships 6. Proof of cultural or religious connections (christian, muslim, and traditional titles)
Work, Business, and Financial Means 1. Letter from your workplace (if you're an employee) 2. Proof of business ownership or registration (if you're self-employed) 3. Pay slip or tax records 4. Bank statements evincing your transactions and account balances to demonstrate your financial establishment in Nigeria
Properties and Real Estate 1. Property deeds or ownership documents 2. Proof of investments or assets in Nigeria 3. Study Goals and Career Plans 4. An SOP explaining how your proposed Canadian education coincides with your career aspirations in Nigeria
Please note that while not all documents listed above are required, submitting a significant portion of them can strengthen your application and improve your chances of approval.
khazeem: Pls house I need help urgently, this agent keeps colllecting money from my sister This is what he sent as visa for my sister I need anybody to pls authenticate this visa for us pls It’s urgent
This is a business visitor's visa, so technically it is a visa. What is your sister's intention or purpose in Canada?
Maria96: i’m not on here for you. If i see your username elsewhere i won’t even recollect. I’m not obliged to monitor or see your subsequent posts knowing the kind of delusional person you are. Enjoy your day and run along.
Sure. Your false assumptions and "information" were disproved and for that I hold a lot of gratitude.
You should pause, think and review before contributing "feedback" on here, especially since you obviously do not know as much as you claim or think you do and your contributions are usually colored with such pessimistic and sanctimonious hues.
Maria96: how is it negativity when its in the news. Someone in Germany studying want to come study in Canada again. When no PR is guaranteed.
Stop stalking me about, i am not responsible for your failure in Canada. After spending 7.5 years in Canada you could not graduate from the schools you went and was deported like a common criminal. How about you make yourself useful by educating people not to end up like you.
Exactly my point. By the way, he never said he was studying, negative Nancy.
I noticed you faded into the background after I found information from my consultations to disprove you. Keep peddling your pessimism, nobody is buying.
kamaladejoke: Hello guys I am currently in Germany and I am considering Canada and Australia which one to go and forward my increase in, please any idea guys
Canada would be my recommendation. It is a good country to do that in. There are a lot of programs that support what you mentioned although some require you to pay like the entrepreneurial program if you are looking for a PR.
You should do some research on the best program to suit your goals because I personally would suggest you only consider the study route if you have the fees and living costs to comfortably finish and graduate.
Zihno: Lol. This!! He knows the truth but needs the validation which Nlers have refused to give him.
Funny how you mention "bullying" but are quick to applaud when someone who clearly knows very little about the situation and the ways to resolve it says the only way left to enter Canada is through marriage.
Hopefully, others in a similar situation in the future can come on here seeking accurate information and not get discouraged by posts like that. That is the whole point of this thread and others like it.
Zihno: Protocol? Is that the norm? Does that apply to everyone? How many people are “partially removed” from Canada? Your attempt to try and bully or insult people trying to help you face the consequences of your past actions is quite telling.
I did not insult anyone but I dispatched those who came at me with unfounded assumptions in the guise of "helping" - I said what I said. I already acknowledged the ones who gave reasonable contributions.
The issue has now been seen to and resolved. Move on.
