Ebonyi 2019: DUNAETA JOINS OTHER 550 NGOs & CSOs TO ENDORSE GOV UMAHI...MONICA COMMENDS SENATOR OGBUORJI FOR CONTEMPLATING DROPPING FROM THE GUBERNATORIAL RACE.

In an unprecedented endorsement of a single candidate in the annals of electioneering campaign in Nigeria, over five hundred and fifty Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Civil Society organisations (CSOs) in Nigeria have rallied round to endorse the candidature of Apostle David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State for the 2019 election.

The carnival like event billed to kick start the campaign of Governor Umahi for his second term will take place at the Ngele Oruta Stadium complex situated in Abakaliki the state capital of Ebonyi State on 24th November, 2018.

David Umahi Nweze Akubuoraha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA) described as the number one Non Governmental Organisation at the forefront of ensuring the reelection of Governor Umahi in the March, 2019 gubernatorial election will join other NGOS & CSOs numbering over 550 that includes various Traders Associations, none indigenes, handicapped Groups, Professionals,Artisians, and countless pressure groups in the State in making the event not only memorable but historical in the annals of politics in Ebonyi State.

Lady Monica Eze the Founder and President of DUNAETA explained that the intimidating numbers of NGOs and CSOs and calibre of people involved in this great move have already sent cold shivers down the spine of the opposition political parties in the State particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Sunny Ogbuorji who after monitoring the intimidating move that includes over 150 NGOs and CSOs from his Southern Senatorial District of the State plus the Ebuwana Youths Forum from his home town working for the reelection of Governor Umahi developed high fever which made him to contemplates of throwing in the towel to avoid the humiliating defeat that awaits him if he summons courage to contest the governorship election against God's anointed servant in the person of Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi FNSE, FNATE.

Monica better known as Ada Ebonyi noted with happiness that Senator Sunny Ogbuorji have been advised by some key members of APC in the State to discountenance the idea of wasting the legislative projects funds which he refused to invest on his people in the election seeing that he has no chance against the candidature of David Umahi if some of the feats credited to the Governor are anything to go by.

Ada Ebonyi describes Umahi as the Lion of Ebonyi, an enigma, a humanist, an accomplished administrator par excellence, visionary, egalitarian, radical, respected, a pragmatist and exemplary leader and the new face of democracy in the politics of Nigeria, an indefatigable; a resolute revolutionist who have vowed to turn Ebonyi State as the light of Nigeria.

He envisioned a new city of 5,000-unit mega city housing project in Ebonyi State to be bankrolled by the Africa Nations Development Programme (ANDP) that will comprise of 5,000 detached two-bedroom bungalows and other facilities such as schools, water, electricity, police station, barracks, hospitals among others is not only a milestone but also a strategic move to put Ebonyi in the league of the most developed states in Nigeria. This project that will be executed by this international body will cost the Ebonyi State Government little or nothing apart from the donation of the land and construction of a two-kilometre road to the site

The Founder of DUNAETA further highlighted that Umahi's feats have received accolades from World Leaders. The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Stuart Symington declared that Abakaliki rice being aggressively promoted by Governor Umahi is one of the best in the world.“Your rice is the best anywhere in the world and we commend the Governor for putting his government to work in Ebonyi State.”

She further described Senator Sonny Ogbuoji as a serial betrayal who have lost political value and relevance in the politics of Ebonyi State and have not done anything for his people and can't boast of any achievement in his constituency for almost seven years he’s been in the Senate neither in no way impacted on the lives of his constituents can't be a match to the visionary and outstanding leader in the person of Governor Umahi"

It is obvious that Ogbuoji has lost political value and relevance and knows that he has sunk into political oblivion and looking for a cheap way to come to the limelight through attempting to equal himself with the new revelation of a political leader in the stature of the Chairman of the South East Governors Forum, Dr Dave Umahi .

This embodiment of failure who is in fact an impediment to the progress of the PDP’s journey to 2019 in the State is fully aware of Governor Umahi’s astounding achievements acknowledged by both world and National leaders including the President, Gen. Muhammad Buhari, who is the leader of APC attested to the fact that His Excellency Engr. Chief Dave Nweze Umahi has performed exceptionally well, when he visited Ebonyi State.

The spouses of the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army have described the Governor of Ebonyi State as a leader with a heart of Gold. The group made this declaration last Friday, 09/11/18 when the Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and Job Creation Hon. Barr Orji Uchenna Orji visited their business outfits and farms, established after they were empowered by Ebonyi State Government with a grant of N200,000 each .

The beneficiaries who were full of excitement said leaders like His Excellency, Engr Umahi believe in one United and prosperous Nigeria, which according to them has been demonstrated by extending his empowerment scheme to the spouses of security personnel at the Military Cantonment, Nkwegu Barracks, Abakaliki notwithstanding that majority of the beneficiaries are not indigenes.

They prayed God to continue to bless the aspiration of such a leader who does not discriminate on the basis of tribe, ethnic group or religion stressing that the Empowerment grant they received from the State Government has helped them a lot in uplifting the living standard of their respective families.

Speaking during the inspection visit, the Hon Commissioner, Hon Barr Orji Uchenna Orji, appreciated the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army for demonstrating brilliance and a sense of responsibility in the performance of their constitutional mandate of protecting the territorial integrity of our Nation. Barr Orji who was accompanied by the National Chairman of GUMEBA, Mrs. Martha Nwankwo and a host of other members of Governor Umahi Empowerment Beneficiaries Association ( GUMEBA) said they were on routine inspection of the business outfits and farms of the beneficiaries of the Empowerment Scheme for the Spouses of Security Personnel living in Ebonyi State. Orji said he was glad that the beneficiaries made effective use of the funds which has in turn created wealth, job and enhanced food security in the State. Barr Orji who said the State Government gave a total grant of N12, 800, 000 for the beneficiaries numbering 64 in that outfit, also expressed joy that the beneficiaries have doubled the output.

Highlights of the event were the inspection of the various farms/ business outfits of the beneficiaries and inauguration of the Governnor Umahi Empowerment Beneficiaries Association (GUMEBA), Nkwegu Cantonment Chapter.

Ebonyi 2019: Gov. Umahi’s empowerment of 2,500 Pastors is unprecedented and laudable - Monica …. Says the Governor’s initiative to construct the most outstanding ecumenical center in West Africa in Ebonyi is innovative, historical and monumental.

Lady Monica Ada Chidinma Eze, the Founder and President of David Umahi Nweze Akabuorah Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA), a virile and compact Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) aimed at propagating and promoting good governance, vision and Ideals of Governor Umahi in Ebonyi State has described the donation of five Hundred million Naira (N500M) to empower 2,500 Pastors and five arms of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) as unprecedented, historical and monumental in the annals of politics in Ebonyi State.

Governor Umahi who on assumption of office on 29th May 2015 dedicated his tenure to God almighty and thereafter set up the Divine Mandate Pastors' Forum with 2,500 Pastors drawn from the five blocks of CAN as bedrock members.

Governor Umahi in his unique style of administration of eradicating poverty in Ebonyi State donated N250million to the Divine Mandate with each of the over 2, 500 members, receiving N100, 000 each while the five blocs of CAN shared N250 million.

"This act to empower 2,500 Pastors drawn from the Divine Mandate Campaign Platform and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state with N500 million at a stretch has earned Governor Umahi unassailable divine endorsement to win the 2019 gubernatorial election unobstructed".

Monica further explained that Governor Umahi initiated the construction of N2.5Billion Naira ecumenical center the largest of such worship place in West Africa replica of the temple built by King David in Jerusalem where everybody Ebonyians no matter whatever part of the world he or she is can pray while facing the centre and such a prayer will surely be answered

"To truly make Ebonyi State God's own State, Governor Umahi directed that Worship Centres should be established in various Government Ministries where every civil servants and the general public are expected to pray and dedicate government activities to God by every Monday from 7am to 9am".

Monica further stated that Governor Umahi while disbursing the funds to empower these Pastors in realization that pastors and other members of the clergy were not exempted from the harsh economic challenges of life noted that temptation, poverty, idleness and lack of knowledge do not know who a pastor is, as human challenges are products of the environment.

"The Governor maintained that this fund should be a mustard seed and if it is too small to start something, aggregate it as I believe that the over N500 million we are disbursing presently would yield over N4 billion in two years,”

Lady Monica Ada Eze AKA ADA EBONYI pointed out that every active follower of how Umahi emerged as Governor of Ebonyi State could recall that it was divine as it has never happened in the politics of Nigeria that a sitting Governor of your State will be against your candidature and you still emerged which was the case of Umahi with the erstwhile Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi just because of the prayers of these pastors. It is based on this fact that the Governor Umahi stated, “Your prayers are not debts unto us don’t feel that you worked for me and got no reward but realise that your rewards are of compound interests before God. Money is, however, highly needed in the present day evangelism because if you are preaching to a hungry person and is not properly dressed, he will not believe you. He will say if God can do what you claim, why he hasn’t done it for you and people disbelieve native doctors because they would claim to make one rich yet dress in rags,”

Monica highlighted that 18th November has been marked out as the day to kick start the campaign for the reelection of this great man of God whom God has used to turn the fortunes of the State around and on that day all Ebonyians have resolved to fast from 8am to 6pm on the day of the rally to hand over to God the reelection of his great son as Governor of Ebonyi State.

Monica who also doubles as Technical Assistant (TA) on Media to Governor Umahi stated that the Pastors, CAN members, over 5, 000 empowered widows, government officials among others, would participate at the flag off of the reelection of Apostle Umahi campaign rally on Nov. 18, at the Pa Ngele Oruta stadium.

Monica reasoned that with the amount of peace, prosperity and joy that the administration of Governor Umahi have brought to many families in Ebonyi State the trusim as contained in Proverbs 29:2, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice..." may have been inspired by the Holy Spirit because of Apostle David Nweze Umahi

Monica therefore urges all Ebonyian to reelect “righteous” Apostle Umahi so that we all shall rejoice in the abundance of peace that follows God’s laws and wisdom. Go vote Apostle Umahi and Dr Eric Kelechi for the progress of our dear young State.

This year, I'm most delighted and humbled to report that we have attained the zenith of success in our rice production efforts. In this third year of our endeavour in this field, I can confidently state that the practical results represent my doctoral thesis in rice production. Not only can we now boast of the largest private farm in southern Nigeria but, far more importantly, we can demonstrably declare the best performance in rice yield in the 2018 wet season cycle.

The glory and accolade should unhesitatingly go to His Excellency, Engr Dr David Nweze Umahi, the Governor of Ebonyi State, for his incomparable motivational leadership. Absent that, I would NEVER have stepped into the rice field; and I most definitely would not have persisted with the level of self-application and financial commitment it had required to arrive at this positive point.

It required the subtle application of the best techniques of leadership by Governor Umahi.

To bring it to a brief distillation: he came up with a chemistry of motivational leadership which could take any difficult task to success.

Because transformational leadership is a relationship of mutual stimulation and elevation that converts followers into leaders while the transformational leader subconsciously elevates himself to a moral agent, Gov Umahi commands change through a combination of action and moral example - the most difficult leadership quality to attain, and the most productive once attained. I'm a front row witness.

In sum, the difference between transactional leadership and transformational leadership is that the former focuses merely on task completion through tactical management, whereas the latter focuses on strategies and missions, deploying passion and vision as its agent provocateur.

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has complemented the efforts of Ebonyi State Government in Empowering the youths and women to be self reliant. The ITF which yesterday empowered 20 physically challenged at the Women Development Centre Abakaliki, said the Organisation is inspired by the good empowerment initiatives of the State Government to choose Ebonyi State as one of the 6 pillot States and to train and empower the beneficiaries in GSM repairs for males and wig and cap making for females with the aim of developing their human resource.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the skill acquisition programme,the Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and Job Creation Hon. Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji representated by the PRS of the Ministry thanked the ITF for establishing their Area office in Abakaliki adding that the State Government under the capacity Governor, His Excellency, Engr David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE, is ready to assist the beneficiaries expand their businesses through the N4 billion Entrepreneurship Fund set aside by the State Government.

He further admonished the beneficiaries to develop passion in their new skills as the state shall be monitoring them to be sure they develope themselves through the skills acquired by them.

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, Ebonyi State Command, CC Stella A. Uchegbu has described the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Engr Dr David Nweze Umahi, FNATE as a Governor with extra-ordinary ability whose developmental strides have made Ebonyi State the pride of Igbo land.

The Sector Commander stated this when the Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and Job Creation visited the Command on routine inspection of the business outfits and farms of the beneficiaries of the State Government Empowerment Programme for Spouses of Security Personnel in Ebonyi State.

She stated that the administration of Engr Umahi has brought solid infrastructure, life changing Empowerment Programmes, social security, conducive environment and human capital development, and thus making Ebonyi State the pride of Igbo land.
She conveyed the appreciation of the Commission to the Governor for empowering the spouses of the officers and men of the Command.

Speaking during the event , the Commissioner,Hon Barr Orji Uchenna Orji said they were in the Command to commence monitoring of the performance of the investment of the 49 beneficiaries of the Empowerment programme who received N200,000 each from the State Government. While acknowledging on behalf of the Governor, the honest commendation by the Command, Barr Orji reiterated the commitment of the state government in empowering all manner of people in the state so as to attain economic development like advanced countries of the world.

He further urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate this rare gesture of the Governor by not only making effective use of the grants given to them but also mobilizing their wards to vote the Governor, His Excellency, Engr Dr David Nweze Umahi come 2019 general election so that his goods works can continue. The group drawn from the 13 Local Government Areas stated this in a meeting they held yesterday with the Hon. Commissioner for Economic Empowerment & Job Creation, Hon Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji in his office at the Centenary City, Abakaliki. They affirmed that the level of transformation both in infrastructure and human Development in Ebonyi State is such that all their members would deploy their talents in promoting the 2nd Coming of the Governor of Ebonyi State happening live on May 29, 2019.

Responding, the Hon. Commissioner promised them of Government's readiness to assist them in developing their talents. He also assured them that their efforts in promoting good governance shall not go unrecognised.

A conglomerate of Nongovernmental Organizations Civil Society Organizations and David Umahi support groups today (31/10/2018) at WDC abakiliki gathered in their great numbers to declare support for the reelection bid of Governor David Umahi come 2019.

The group having in attendance representatives of 593 organizations used the occasion to move and adopt a motion unanimously supporting the reelection of the capacity Governor H E Engr. David Nweze Umahi saying that in view of his track records, superlative performance and unbeatable capacity for good governance, they would mobilize all the electorates within the voting strength of the state to give him a historic vote come 2019 general election.

Speaking during the event, the Director of Divine Mandate campaign organization in charge of NGOs,CSOs and other support groups and Chief of Staff Government House Abakaliki Dr. Emmanuel Offor Okorie charged all the organizations to mobilize all their members across all the nooks and crannies of Ebonyi state to obtain their PVCs and sensitize the electorates. He also declared that a day would soon be set aside for a rally of the NGOs, CSOs and support groups to showcase their strength in the support of our dear Governor .

Ebonyi Community Empowerment Programmes: Benefitting Communities Charged to embark on projects that will impact positively on the living standard of the rural dwellers.

The Hon Commissioner for Economic Empowerment & Job Creation, Hon. Barr Orji Uchenna Orji has charged all communities benefitting from the N10m Community Empowerment programme of the Ebonyi State Community Social Development Agency to ensure that they choose only the projects that will support the economic Development Agenda of Ebonyi State, under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE, Governnor of Ebonyi State.

The Commissioner said it is only when the projects impact positively on the living standard of the people that the objectives will be achieved. According to Orji, the Economic Development indicators such as food and social security, improvement in health care services, educational improvement ,wealth creation and job creation and self actualization as well as industrialization and entrepreneurship are rapidly settling in Ebonyi State under the pragmatic leadership of our Governor.

He enumerated the achievements of the programme and said that in addition to the 87 Communities that have benefitted from the N10m Community project, 19 more communities are being approved for the Empowerment. He added that the CSDA- Additional Funding is empowering the vulnerable in the Communities to make them self reliant.

"I have read with heart full of sadness some of the negative, denigratory and derogatory comments in the social media alleging that the Governor apart from not supporting the appointment of Chief Peter Obi as Atiku's Vice Presidential candidate that the Governor have rejected his appointment as Atiku/Obi Presidential Campaign Organisation Coordinator for the South East. These misguided elements went further to allege that Governor Umahi have branded Ebonyi Rice as a campaign tool to promote the candidature of President Buhari instead of Atiku" Monica said.

She described most of these allegations as unfounded and the imagination of those circulating them as there have nothing to do with the person and position of Governor Umahi.

"Let me reiterate once again that Governor Umahi is not against the appointment of Peter Obi as the Vice Presidential candidate of PDP.. What the Governor was against was how he was appointed without due consultation with the leaders of Ndi Igbo and without any nominee or consideration given to the people of Ebonyi and Imo States out of the five nominees submitted to Atiku to select his Vice presidential candidate unless these people are of the opinion that Governor Umahi is not entitled to his own opinion on any given issue " said Monica.

She highlighted that contrary to what is being circulated in the social media it may interest the general public that Governor Umahi has never discussed or indicated to anybody that he has rejected the appointment to coordinate the Atiku/Obi Campaign organization for South East so we are astounded from where such devious news could have emanated from.

Monica further stated that Governor Umahi being a PDP leader can't be seen as campaigning for the candidature of another political party. He has accepted Atiku as the PDP Presidential candidate and will surely assist him to succeed in his rescue mission.

She stated that the position and relationship of Governor Umahi and that of President Muhammadu Buhari is that of son and father and those who are expecting Governor Umahi to because of politics to start abusing the President who he accept as his boss may be disappointed because Ebonyi people are not known as abusers of their elders or superiors.

Ada Ebonyi reiterated that today no matter the michevieous postulations by some of these elements in their misguided statements, Governor Umahi stands as the embodiment of the Ebonyi politics and should be respected for his principled stand on national issues as it affects the Igbos.

Monica maintained that "these propagandists and carriers of fake news against the person and personality of Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State in the social media will not succeed in their new enterprises."

This report is not only misleading but coming directly from the pit of hell to embarrass our leader and the PDP family and confuse some feeble minded people. By releasing such propaganda, it has become crystal clear that APC apologists were actually praying for Governor Umahi to reject the offer to lead the Atiku/Obi Campaign train in the South East. Unfortunately, their permutations failed woefully and they resorted to falsehood and propaganda.

The presentation of report on Youth Management and National Security: The Ebonyi State Experience by the participants of the Course 27 National Defence College ended in Abuja on 17/10/18 with a commendation to the Government of Ebonyi State under His Excellency, Engr David Nweze Umahi, Governor of Ebonyi State.

The analysis of the team shows that Ebonyi State has witnessed rapid Economic Development through numerous Empowerment initiatives of the government targetted at engaging the youths in sustainable means of livelihood. This accordingly to them has reduced insecurity to the barest minimum in the State.

They observed that economic diversification in the area of Agriculture, Solid Mineral Development (including the notable salt deposits) and private sector engagement particularly on power sector was desirable to enable the State achieve greater impetus on youth management and National Security.

In his remarks, the representative of Ebonyi State Government and Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and Job Creation, Hon Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji said the youths of Ebonyi State are engaged through three cardinal policy conceptualizations, namely, Job Creation, Empowerment and Political participation. According to Barr Orji, all construction works and labour needed for infrastructural development in the state are done by the Youths, in addition to numerous State and Federal Youth Empowerment programs most of which are grants, and also numerous political appointments aimed at grooming the youths as future leaders. He said that apart from legislative framework, monitoring and evaluation of Empowerment programmes as well as keeping of biometric data of beneficiaries of Government's Empowerment programmes, coupled with strict compliance with the public procurement and fiscal responsibility laws are the secrets of the unprecedented youth management and security achieved in the State.

Monica Eze Aka Ada Ebonyi explained that people should understand that Governor Umahi was not speaking as the Governor of Ebonyi State but as the Chairman of the South East Governors' Forum which places him as the Leader of PDP in the region.

In this regard, she reasoned that if in that position will it be right to have picked one of the great sons of the region for such an exalted position like the Vice President of PDP without due consultation with such an apex body like the SE Governors Forum and PDP leadership in the region and should the leader of such a group just keep quiet in order to please some political leaders from the region who fail to appreciate the position of Governor Umahi in this regard.

Monica reiterated that Governor Umahi is not interested on who becomes the Vice President and has nothing against Peter Obi as he is a personal friend to him but at least protocol and due process should be followed to carry along key stakeholders that will assist in mobilising Ndi -Igbo and Nigerians for the success of PDP in the 2019 general elections.

Monica reemphasised that this notwithstanding, "Gov. Umahi by his position today is a stakeholder so far politics is concerned in the South East region, besides he mobilised and assisted in no small measure the election of the PDP Presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar during the Convention of the party and for some people now after his emergence as the presidential candidate of the party aggregates to themselves the powers to determine what happens in the party excluding the Governors that have been sustaining the party in the region is to me most unfortunate, unacceptable and sad".

She further expressed thanks to the PDP leadership in the region that met during the weekend at Enugu to affirm the position of Governor Umahi and aligned herself with their position that politics can't thrive without due consultation.

The Southeast PDP leaders at the end of their meeting in Enugu through Chief Austin Umahi the Vice National Chairman of PDP South East Zone acknowledged and appreciated the concession of vice presidency to their zone and statrf further, “The fact is that Peter Obi is our son and we are not rejecting him, but the presidential candidate has not informed us formally. The Chairman of the South East Governors Forum and governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi has expressed shock over the choice of former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi as the running mate to the presidential candidate of PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar without consulting with the leaders of the zone.

Umahi said the earlier statement quoting him as congratulating Peter Obi was never with his knowledge and dissociated himself from the statement, saying that the position of the entire South East zone has always been that any position zoned to the South East must be deliberated upon by the leaders of the zone.

He said in the case of the appointment of Mr. Obi as Atiku's running mate, neither the governors, nor Igbo leaders were consulted, a situation he said was a great departure from the earlier agreement.

The governor appologized to Nigerians and Ndigbo for the statement, adding that his Chief Press Secretary acted without his knowledge and wish to state categorically that he has nothing personally against Peter Obi or any other person emerging as the running mate to the presidential candidate of PDP.

He said that any position zoned to Ndigbo must be discussed and agreement reached so that the right thing is done in line with the perculiar nature of Igbo politics and their quest for politics of inclusiveness.

The Hon Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and Job Creation, Hon Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji has described Ebonyi State as the Empowerment hob of the country and the fastest developing State in Nigeria.
Barr Orji stated this during his Monitoring visit to the ITF training centres in Abakaliki today 11/10/18.

Through this programme, 300 Ebonyians are receiving training in different centres across the 3 Senatorial Zones of the State. The training billed to last for 3months shall be concluded in the next two weeks after which the participants shall be given starter packs to set up their vocations particularly in POP making, Tilling, event management/ catering service.

Responding,the Area Manager of ITF, Mrs Osagie said Ebonyi State was made to have ITF Area Office because of its strategic importance to the economic Development of the South East. She eulogized the Governor of Ebonyi State for his offer to partner with ITF and the Federal Government in all their empowerment initiatives....

Ebonyi State government through the Honourable Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Senator Emmanuel Onwe, announced the suspension of all EBBC radio and television services for 24 hours.

This will take effect on Saturday - Sunday by 6pm in honour of the departed staff of EBBC, Late Comrade Samuel Nweke.

While making this announcement, the honourable commissioner for Information and State Orientation unbehalf of Ebonyi state government commiserated with the management and staff of EBBC and the general media personnels in the state over the incident of the death of Late Comrade Samuel Nweke.

The peoples Democratic party (p.d.p) have remained a contemporary formidable political party since its inception in 1998.

Under the leadership of the peoples Democratic party in the past 16years in Nigeria,it is agreeable to say that there was an economic boost in the growth and development of the nation but after power was taken from them in 2015 by the All progressive congress (APC) "Nigeria which was a nation that was in boom is now labelled as a nation in doom".

The killings,kidnaps and blood shed of innocent people has now become the order of the day. It is unfortunate that the present system is doing little or nothing at all to put an end to the plight consuming the nation.

The Increase in essential commodities has coerced the people to involve themselves in illegal practices in order for them to have food to survive.

The peoples Democratic party (PDP) south east zonal executive committee,spearheaded by the National vice Chairman,Chief Austin Umahi have proffered solutions capable of strengthening and placing the party back in its rightful position in the forth coming elections.

Chief Austin Umahi seemed to be threading the part of conficius when he quoted thus -;"

He stated that the southeast is the main stem of the people's democratic party in Nigeria and that should not change now.

Speaking with newsmen, a GDI Youth Stakeholder and Technical Assistant to the Governor of Ebonyi State on Media, Mr Simbad Ogbuatu, called on the youths of the state to be great ambassadors of good Governance and show readiness at all times to defend good Governance.

He made this known earlier today during a media chat with some journalist, Simbad expressed dissatisfaction over attitudes of some youths supporting these Political butchers who has enslaved the youths prior to the present administration ably led by Governor David Nweze Umahi. He used the opportunity to call on Ebonyi youths to identify with the visions and objective leadership style of Governor Umahi and stop been a tool in the hands of these Political desperados who means nothing good to them. The youths have no reason to be a cheap commodity in the hands of these men who will use the youths today and dump them tomorrow,"Simbad added".

Our youths should be able to compare and juxterpose between the former and the present Government which ushered them into governance.
Youths as leaders of tomorrow should be able to know that Democracy is all about inclusive Governance especially when it covers the interest of the populace.

As we all know that GDI is a non-governmental organization, that specializes in identifying and supporting good Governance and here in Ebonyi State, we found good Governance in Governor David Nweze Umahi quality leadership style and it is time to throw our teeming support and solidarity to him irrespective of one's Political party and ensure that the good Governance and ongoing rapid transformation in Ebonyi State is sustained and Governor David Nweze Umahi re-elected come 2019.

What Umahi is doing in Ebonyi State is beyond party Politics, what the Governor is doing in the state is not found in politicians but in statesmen and statesmen think of the next generation, through his monumental strides , democracy and good Governance has been vindincated.

The meeting was convened and co-chaired by both governors of Ebonyi State His Excellency Engr, Chief David Nweze Umahi and Cross River State His Excellency Prof. Ben A. Ayade.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Chief Barr. Eric Kelechi Igwe Ph.D and other stakeholders from both states .

At the end of exhaustive and amicable deliberations both States resolved as follows:

1. That hostilities should stop immediately to make way for peace on all the five sectors that are in dispute namely Izzy/Yala, Abakaliki/Obubra, Ikwo/Obubra, Ikwo/Abi, and Afikpo South/Biase.

2.That within thirty days effective from 7th of August 2018, both states shall submit all documents of their boundary claims on each of the above mentioned five disputed sectors including but not limited to relevant legal instruments, maps and communiques of previous meetings on the said sectors.

3. That all documents shall be exchanged through the office of both states’ Deputy Governors. Each states’ reaction is expected to be returned within 30 days to enable both Governors review them and convene the next stakeholders meeting within 30 days.

4. That there shall be appointment of arbitrators including the National Boundary Commission, Abuja as the third arbitrator.

5. That in each of the disputed sectors, both states will appoint 10 leaders who shall be given power of attorney by the various communities to act on their behalf .

6. That both Governors directed representatives of the disputed communities in attendance in todays’ meeting to go back to their various communities and sensitize them on the way forward with a view to finding lasting solutions to the crisis at the disputed sectors.

7. That to ensure lasting peace and further cement the bond of brotherly love, both State Governors have agreed to embark on the following projects:

_i_ . Ebonyi State Government to build a bridge of about 600Meters linking Oferekpe in Ebonyi State with Ogada in Cross River State; whereas Cross River State shall build 7.2km road to link up with the federal high way coming in from Ogada to Oferekpe. ii.Ebonyi State to build a bridge of about 500meters across Ndibe beach. Whereas Cross River State shall build a 19km Road linking Ndibe beach to Ugep or a 17Km road linking Ndibe beach to Adim.

8. That Ebonyi State will cooperate with Cross River State in the operation of,and patronage of their deep seaport when completed .

9.That the projects in number 7 shall boost cross border cooperation and trade, leveraging on the Cross River State government projects of Super Highway and Deep Seaport and the Cross Border Bridge by Ebonyi State Government.

10. That all activities at Erei Palm Plantation cease forthwith, pending the resolution of the matter by both State Deputy Governors.

11. That both state governments shall carry out a disarmament of the combatants and that those who shall willingly hand over their dangerous weapons within a period of 90 days from today 7th of August 2018 shall be granted amnesty.

Ebonyi and Cross River States will embark on construction of bridges and roads to further cement the bond of brotherhood

While Ebonyi state government is to construct 600 metres bridge across Oferekpe River in Ikwo axis and 500 metres bridge at Ndibe Beach in Afikpo, Cross River state undertook to compliment Ebonyi state by constructing 7.2km road to link up with the Federal high way coming in from Ogada in Cross River State to Oferekpe in Ebonyi state as well as 19km road linking Ndibe beach to ugep or a 17km road linking Ndibe beach to Adim.

This is part of a ten point communique on the Bilateral meeting of officials of Cross River state and Ebonyi interstate boundary challenges held in Port Harcourt, River State

The meeting which was convened and co-chaired by Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Cross River state counterpart, Ben Ayade also resolved to end hostilities in their boundary areas.

To achieve this, both state Governors directed the representatives of the disputed communities in attendance to return to their various communities and sensitize them on the way forward with a view to proffering solutions to the challenges at the disputed sectors.

They also resolved to that both state should submit a position paper on their boundary claims, anexing relevant legal documents, maps and comuniques of previous meetings within 30 days while arbitrarators including National Boundary Commission, as third arbitrator would be appointed.

As part of the communique, both state government would carry out a diarmement of the combatants and thereafter grant amnesty to to those who Shall willingly handover the dangerous weapons in their possession within a period of 90 days from 7th of August 2018.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State Dr. Kelechi Igwe.

Ebonyi and Cross River States will embark on construction of bridges and roads to further cement the bond of brotherhood

While Ebonyi state government is to construct 600 metres bridge across Oferekpe River in Ikwo axis and 500 metres bridge at Ndibe Beach in Afikpo, Cross River state undertook to compliment Ebonyi state by constructing 7.2km road to link up with the Federal high way coming in from Ogada in Cross River State to Oferekpe in Ebonyi state as well as 19km road linking Ndibe beach to ugep or a 17km road linking Ndibe beach to Adim.

This is part of a ten point communique on the Bilateral meeting of officials of Cross River state and Ebonyi interstate boundary challenges held in Port Harcourt, River State

The meeting which was convened and co-chaired by Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Cross River state counterpart, Ben Ayade also resolved to end hostilities in their boundary areas.

To achieve this, both state Governors directed the representatives of the disputed communities in attendance to return to their various communities and sensitize them on the way forward with a view to proffering solutions to the challenges at the disputed sectors.

They also resolved to that both state should submit a position paper on their boundary claims, anexing relevant legal documents, maps and comuniques of previous meetings within 30 days while arbitrarators including National Boundary Commission, as third arbitrator would be appointed.

As part of the communique, both state government would carry out a diarmement of the combatants and thereafter grant amnesty to to those who Shall willingly handover the dangerous weapons in their possession within a period of 90 days from 7th of August 2018.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State Dr. Kelechi Igwe.

The Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahaman Dambazau (rtd) arrived Ebonyi state today on a one day working visit.

The minister who was received on arrival by the Deputy Governor Dr. Kelechi Igwe took time to inspect on going projects being executed by the state government.

He inspected the pulverisation plant, at umughara, ecumenical centre, shopping mall ,new governor's office and the new prison complex.

The minister extolled Ebonyi State government under the leadership of Engr.David Nweze Umahi especially the new prisons complex which he said would complement the on going prisons reform and decongest the prisons.

He announced government plans to build capacity of staff under the ministry,insisting that promotion will henceforth be based on merit.
"the era of promoting officers on the ground that vacancies exist is over, henceforth only officers who are alive to their responsibilities will be promoted "

The Deputy Governor,(Dr)Kelechi Eric Igwe,told the minister that Governor Umahi has brought his experience in engineering to bare which has led to the execution of high quality projects in the state.

The Technical Assistants to the Governor on Economic Empowerment and Job Creation have described the Empowerment agenda of the State Government ably led by His Excellency, Engr.Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE as an extraordinary life changing initiative that has no match among the contemporary Governments.



The technical assistant’s Stated this when they paid a courtesy call to the Hon Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and Job Creation,Hon Barrister Orji Uchenna Orji.

The group led by Mrs Chike Onwe said the Governor has performed beyond human imagination particularly in the area of Empowerment of the people of Ebonyi State and deserves the support and solidarity of the well meaning Ebonyians for him to take Ebonyi State to the next level come 2019.

They spoke in turns on the experience and passion which the Hon Commissioner has brought to bear in the discharge of his ministerial duties.

In his response, the Hon Commissioner credited the modest achievements of the ministry to the manifest political will of the Governor to rewrite the history of the hitherto neglected people of the State.

He enumerated the Empowerment programmes of the State Government since 2015, including the Youth/ Women Empowerment where N750m has been given as grant to 3,000 empowerment beneficiaries accross the State, N130m for Empowerment of 520 Ebonyians in Lagos, over N400m for Empowerment of 4,000 widows, 400 Tricycles worth over N650,000 each for Ebonyi youths/ women home and in Onitsha, N200,000 Agric Empowerment funds for 403 Wives of Security Personnel in the State, N1m each to 6 horticulturists, many training programs, Millionaire club scheme, Governnor Umahi Mentorship Scheme , Governnor Umahi Mentorship Centre and Akubaraoha Empowerment Hall of Fame, among others. All these empowerment programmes are free of Charge, ie , ex- gratia from the Governor.

According to Orji, the lives of the beneficiaries have been transformed and this has reduced drastically insecurity in the land. In his vote of thanks, Engineer Chukwuemeka Ekumaoko said the visit was revealing as it was thought provoking and pledged the continued support of the Empowerment programmes of the State Government.

By 11th July, 2018, Ebonyi State will be celebrating one of her finest and splendour Media gurus. On that auspicious day lady Monica Ada Chidinma Chukwuemeka -Eze who was born on the 11th of July 1992 will be celebrating her 26th birthday. 

A detribalized Nigerian with Ibo parents who can as well claim to be a Northerner as she was born at the Specialist Hospital situated in Jimeta-Yola the State capital of Adamawa State in the North Eastern region of Nigeria. Monica who hails from Uburu in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State is the first child of Chief and Evang. (Mrs.) Augustine Eze.

According to her records, she started her Nursery and Primary School at the famous Abti International Nursery /Primary School, Yola and proceeded to Federal University of Technology Secondary School Yola where she got her Senior Secondary School Certificate in 2008. A graduate of Our Savior's Institute of Science, Agric and Technology (OSISATECH), Enugu where she studied Public Administration and obtained National Diploma (ND) certificate which enabled to secure direct entry admission into Caritas University where she studied Industrial Relations and Personnel Management.

Public Service/Politics :

Monica is a reputable Blogger and Publisher and in line with Ann Tran’s quote is a workaholic, philanthropist per excellence, humane, humble and obedient person whose weaknesses is kindness. She is kind to a fault but resists anybody who wants to take advantage of her kindness and humane nature. She loves being committed to anything entrusted in her hands and appreciative of whatever one does for her no matter how little it is. This lady whose writings have assisted so much in propagating the ideals and vision of the Ebonyi State Government under the able leadership of her uncle, Engr. (Dr) Dave Nweze Umahi ( FNATE, FNSE) is the President/Founder of David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA) a vibrant, virile grassroots NGO whose main aim is to ensure the re-election of Governor Umahi come 2019 and which she uses to issue press statements in defense and promotion of her boss, His Excellency Engr. (Chief) Dave Nweze Umahi) and his government.

Her article titled, “ _How Umahi Turned Ebonyi Into One Huge ConstructionSite_ ” is a must read anytime any day and have since her appointment wrote over twenty inspiring articles on the positive activities of the present administration in Ebonyi State.

Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebony State has been honoured with award of Excellence by the Faculty of Engineering, University of
Nigeria Nsukka.
The award was in recognition of his administrative ingenuity and exploits in Engineering profession.

Handing over the award to the governor at the 17th Herbert Macaulay Memorial Lecture today, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Benjamin Ozumba who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, academics, professor James Ogbonna said the governor has remained a worthy Ambassador of Engineering profession because of his outstanding leadership qualities which were in line with the ideals and philosophies of Herbert Macaulay.

Professor Ozumba encouraged other leaders to emulate Engr. Umahi by being committed and transparent.

While appreciating rapid transformation of Ebonyi By the Governor, the vice Chancellor solicited his[url][/url] assistance to University in the area of infrastructure.

Responding, the governor who was represented by the the Deputy Governor Dr. Kelechi Igwe commended the University for striving to sustain the philosophies of the Late Nationalists.
