The peoples Democratic party (p.d.p) have remained a contemporary formidable political party since its inception in 1998.

Under the leadership of the peoples Democratic party in the past 16years in Nigeria,it is agreeable to say that there was an economic boost in the growth and development of the nation but after power was taken from them in 2015 by the All progressive congress (APC) "Nigeria which was a nation that was in boom is now labelled as a nation in doom".

The killings, kidnaps and blood shed of innocent people has now become the order of the day. It is unfortunate that the present system is doing little or nothing at all to put an end to the plight consuming the nation.

The Increase in essential commodities has coerced the people to involve themselves in illegal practices in order for them to have food to survive.

The peoples Democratic party (PDP) south east zonal executive committee, spearheaded by the National vice Chairman,Chief Austin Umahi have proffered solutions capable of strengthening and placing the party back in its rightful position in the forth coming elections.

Chief Austin Umahi seemed to be threading the part of conficius when he quoted thus -;"
To put the world right in order,we must first put the nation in order,to put the nation in order ,we must first put the family in order;to put the family in order ,we must first cultivate our personal life;we must first set our hearts right". Regardless of the present position of the people's democratic party,it is quite obvious that the party is now stronger, more united and strengthened to overthrow the All progressive congress (APC) and enthrone the people's democratic party in the forth coming elections.

The National Vice Chairman urged members of the party to maintain a harmonious relationship that would strengthen and uphold the party to stand the test of times.

He stated further that the tool of internal mechanism reconciliation should be adopted in order to maintain the unity amongst members without infringing on their fundamental human rights to contest.

The National Vice Chairman pleaded with the members to avoid any sort of mistake that would endanger the party's goals ,purpose and vision to take back power in the forthcoming elections.

He made it clear that no form of rascality or carelessness will be tolerated in the party, hence such must be avoided so that the party can grow to be formidable and indestructible.

His Excellency Chief Engr.(Dr) David Nweze Umahi, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State ably represented by His Excellency,Barrister Kelechi Eric Igwe ,the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State commended the southeast tremendously for contributing extensively to the survival and existence of Nigeria.

He said that if it wasn't for the efforts of the south eastern governors of the peoples democratic party extraction, the effort of the deputy senate president, and few critical stakeholders, the party would have gone into extinction by the day.

He also stated that Gov. Umahi has in his magminity and love for the party taken it upon himself to sort out the allowances and financial liabilities of the zone for a very long time and has not relented in supporting the development of the party.

He encouraged party members to double their efforts, toughen their political fibre, ensure that the peoples democratic party is delivered in the southeast, stay strengthened and united to challenge whatever strategy the opposition might want to use. He stated that the southeast is the main stem of the people's democratic party in Nigeria and that should not change now.

His Excellency,Peter Obi,the former Governor of Anambra State popularly known as,
'Okwute ndi Igbo' thanked the zonal Chairman ,Chief Austin Umahi for his dedication and time to keep the party moving and focused.
He assured him that the PDPi n Anambra State have reorganized itself to be the PDP it should be in order to make a big difference.

Okwute ndi Igbo stated that the people's democratic party in Anambra State is getting ready for the elections and have signed an undertaken that anybody who collects money from an aspirant ,will be expelled from the party. He advised members who have money to invest their money judiciously.

According to the constitution as stated in section 51 (1) D,the zonal working committee recommended the following levy for adoption by the August body.

A. House of Assembly
Incumbent members -

-Aspirants - N100,000.
