ALBERT Einstein posited that the value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive. Another philosopher says that a strong man is he who went, saw and conquered amidst obvious odds and impeding hindrances. The processes that led to the emergence of Chief Engr. David Nweze Umahi as PDP standard flag bearer and winner of the 2015 governorship election in Ebonyi State were clear indications that he is a divine leader sent by God to develop all spheres of the young and fast growing State.

Going by records of accomplishment of past leaders of the state from 1996 until date, one can look into the future and see an Ebonyi State that is not just springing up with unprecedented development in all aspect, but a state that is the best among her equals. Accolades must go to the visionary leadership of Apostle Engr. David Nweze Umahi for his enormous potentials and Divine leadership ordination demonstrated sine his assumption office as Governor of the state.

From this prognostication, one can boldly say that Ebonyi State is actually living up to its billings as a child born out of fervent pray to God. A child that craws when it should crawl, walk when it should walk, run when it should run, and presently flying when others are still walking. The State is one of the few states whose creation were achieved with pains, tears and heard struggle of the founding fathers.  In her own case, Ebonyi leads the pack when one reason that while others got their states on a platter of gold after few years of struggle, the struggle for the creation of Ebonyi state lasted for over 39 years before its realization.

It is therefore worthy to appreciate the fact that Ebonyi State has accelerated her social, economic and human development at a pace unprecedented and unrecorded in the annals of other States of the federation, courtesy of a man who has a clear vision and who came to leadership as a rare gift to Ebonyi state. The unique Governor, Apostle (Engr.) David Umahi whose emergence as Governor was through Divine Mandate, has severally affirmed that his actions and policies would be divinely guided to enable him and his team achieve the desired developmental dreams of the state’s founding fathers.

In his inaugural speech, the Governor declared that his rising to the leadership of the state was purely the will of God. Hence, all his actions, programs and policies would reflect his Covenant with God. In line with this, Governor Umahi has remained focused in delivering quality leadership and projects to Ebonyians.

In recognition of the fact that Government exists for continuity, Governor Umahi, being a man of God with high test, Apostle David Umahi imbibed a high sense of quality, adequate maintenance culture and ensured the continuity of every laudable policy and program of past administration. The Umahi led government in Ebonyi State has not only consolidated on projects and policies of past administrations in the state, but also rebranded and improved on most of them acceptable international standard.

The development-oriented governor on his first term inauguration on 29th May 2015 stated his priority areas, though not exhaustive as success on its own throws up new challenges to include: Education, Security, Capital City Development, Health, Agriculture and Food Production. Others are Infrastructural Development, Mineral Resources Development, Youth and Women Employment, Welfare of people, Peace building and Civil Service reforms.

Four years after, the Governor delivered beyond the promise he made to the people. He has performed above the achievements of most Governors in their first and second term.  In area of Job creation and empowerment, the Governor who was concerned at the high level of poverty and unemployment in the state, ushered in a pro-entrepreneurial policy as a veritable tool for poverty eradication and job creation.

From the program, over 2500 women and youth selected from all the electoral wards in Ebonyi State were given Two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000) each to start up business. Others were trained on different skills and many are currently benefiting from Agricultural loans among other empowerment and human resource development programs of Akubaroha Government.

In keeping to his vision of making Abakaliki the best state capital in Nigeria, Governor Umahi has transformed Abakaliki Capital City from hitherto status of a dirty environment and outlook to a befitting state capital competing with other major cities in the country. The network of urban roads in Abakaliki has made the street roads comparable to other notable streets in the world.

Apart from the urban roads, Engr. Umahi has taken his aggressive road construction to all parts of the state. The street light project has not only beautified the city at night but has helped improve business activities in Abakaliki. Interestingly the Governor has extended the streetlights and electricity supply to all the Local Government Areas of the State.

The first three ever flyovers in the state were all completed within two years to the extent that Ebonyians are today giving a standing ovation to Governor Umahi in appreciation of his foresight, hard work and determination to make Ebonyi a world class state.

The engagement of over 300 youths as Technical Assistance and Senior Technical Assistance is the first of its kind in the country. The peoples ‘Messiah’ has also done well in area of industry and in attraction of investors for the development of solid minerals and industries in the state. The Ecumenical centre, International shopping mall, International market and the new government House projects are other projects that have further placed the governor above his equals.

In area of workers’ salaries and welfare, while other states are struggling to pay their workers, Umahi has continued to maintain cordial relationship and regular payment of workers’ salaries as promised and has recently increased workers’ salaries by five percent, including the yearly payment of thirteenth month salary and purchase of buses that take workers to and fro their work places in the state.

Transformation in Agriculture and food production is another area the able Governor has done creditably well through robust programs and policies wherein he gave grants to farmers, encouraged Civil and Public Servants into Agriculture, procured and distributed improved seedling, fertilizer, insecticide and the introduction of mechanized agriculture in partnership with serious investors who are helping to boast the state economy through agriculture, solid mineral development among other areas.
Governor Umahi has within his first four years in office touched all sectors of Ebonyi State, which reminds us of the statement by former Ghanaian Leader, Kwame Nkrumah who once told Ghanaian Countrymen that the task ahead is great indeed, and heavy is the responsibility and yet it is a noble and glorious challenge. A challenge which calls for the courage to dream, the courage to believe, the courage to dare, the courage to fight and to work. Courage to achieve the highest excellences and the fullest greatness of man. The above assertion might be the driving-force and propellant strength of Governor Umahi in Ebonyi State.

For sure, leadership entails having the courage to do what had not been done before, and that is what Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi is doing in Ebonyi State under his divine mandate administration. Ebonyians must understand that development is a process which is a progressive change in the way of life, and which demands patient, sacrifice and understanding, hence the need to give Governor Umahi all the supports he needs in his transformation efforts in the state.

The solidarity should also be extended to his functionaries and the ever charming wife, Chief Mrs. Rachael Ogonnaya Umahi who has taken the welfare of less privileged, widows, the poor and the sick as priority through her family succor and upliftment program.

In the face of financial difficulties, the divine mandate, passionate, God loving and peoples’ Governor, Engr. Chief David Umahi has remained focused in his efforts to change the face of Ebonyi State through human and infrastructural developments. There is therefore a clarion call for Ebonyi people to align with the developmental strides of this workaholic and people friendly Governor to enable him continue with the good works he is doing in Ebony state for the next four years.

Governor David Umahi has condemned the recent killing of the former member of the Abakaliki Capital Teritory Development Board and Secretary of the Elders Council, Chief Geoffery Mgbada and called for thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Umahi in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Emmanuel Uzor described the death of the elder statesman as callous and ordered full investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death in the hands of thugs who paraded themselves as Vehicle Inspection Officers.

Part of the statement read “the Governor on hearing about the death of Chief Mgbada expressed great sadness and ordered the Commissioner of Police to arrest and prosecute the suspects who paraded themselves as VIO Officers. Let it be known that the Governor in a town-hall meeting with Ebonyians proscribed all task-force agents working under any guise using the state government as cover”

“In the proscription order, the Governor also dissolved all revenue and tax agents in the state at all levels with a promise to convoke another town hall meeting where a new tax and other revenue will be deliberated and agreed upon and the Governor is yet to convene this meeting before this ugly incident “
“The Governor is saddened by this careless death and wishes to dissociate the state government from the illegal activities of the VIO and other task force agents in the state and directs for immediate arrest and prosecution of such illegal tax or revenue agents “
He further commiserated with the family of the deceased and vowed to ensure that justice is done while urging the members of the public to resist illegal revenue agents as the only body legally permitted to collect revenue on behalf of the government is the newly inaugurated Board of Internal Revenue.

It will be recalled that Chief Geoffery Mgbada was allegedly killed in the early hours of Tuesday by suspected members of Vehicle Inspection Officers, VIO who were on illegal duty along Presco-Ezza road, Abakaliki.

The deceased who was said to be driving with his wife was intercepted by the VIO and in the cause of their illegal duties, argument ensued which led to one of the VIO agents to push him and he felled and hit his head on the concrete road and died.

However, two members of the team were immediately arrested by the Anti Kidnapping Unit of the Nigeria Police while the leader of the illegal team, an old man was equally arrested.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.

It was a testimony galore as the beneficiaries of Tricycle Empowerment Scheme of Governor David Nweze Umahi stormed the Ministry of Human Capital Development and Monitoring today on invitation by the Commissioner, Hon. Barr Orji Uchenna Orji.

The beneficiaries Congratulated the Governnor for the landslide victory of PDP in the 2019 General election, particularly his overwhelming victory at the polls. The beneficiaries said, with the empowerment of 400 Ebonyi Youths and Women with modern TVS tricycles, the lives of the beneficiaries and their dependents have been transformed.

Speaking during the event, The Hon Commissioner assured the people of Ebonyi State of more empowerment programmes of the Governor, His Excellency Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE and charged them to ensure that they use the tricycle for the very purpose of the programme. Barr Orji who enumerated the achievements of the Governor Umahi administration in the area of Empowerment also stated that the 400 tricycles were procured in March 2018 at the cost of N260M and distributed to the beneficiaries as grant on equality of LGA and that by this March 2019 ( being exactly one year) the return on investment cumulatively is about N400M, which according to Orji has been injected into the economy of Ebonyi State.

He noted that some beneficiaries have made one million in the past one year while some have made several investments including buying of additional tricycles and that about 800 direct and indirect jobs have been created.

Barr Orji further warned that no beneficiary has the powers to sell the tricycle or involve in hire- purchase, without first obtaining the approval of the Executive Council of Ebonyi State, noting that those who have sold theirs would be fished out and blacklisted, including those who refused to submit themselves for monitoring and evaluation by the ministry.

Highlights of the meeting include: (1.) Inauguration of the Task Force on the Performance of the Tricycle Empowerment beneficiaries made up of a Ministry's Liaison, 3 Zonal Coordinators, 13 LGA Coordinators representating the 13 LGAs with a mandate to conduct peer review and track those who have sold or disposed of their tricycles in a manner inconsistent with the Empowerment policy of Government.

(2) Distribution of Certificate of training to deserving beneficiaries, which would enable them qualify for possible tricycle related Empowerment Programmes. Also such people may qualify to be shortlisted as members of the GUMEBA Millionaire Club where those who passed the parameters would be given one million naira each. He promised that similar evaluation would be carried out on the Sienna Empowerment beneficiaries.

I am delighted by the victory of the PDP in Ebonyi State in the just concluded 2019 general elections more than any other time in the history of my life. Ebonyians have shown that they appreciate good things, and they have demonstrated it by the overwhelming support they gave His Excellency Engr. Chief (Dr) David Umahi Nweze FNSE, FNATE and the PDP in this election. The victory is of God and for the people. They have defied the rave and rants of the naysayers and shown that they stand for equity, and good governance. Of course, this victory is a great leap for the infrastructural development of Ebonyi State.

I want to thank the officials and staff of the PDP at all levels in Ebonyi State. They have fought vigorously and diligently for this success, and God has given us the victory. The members of the Divine Mandate Campaign Committee have been dogged in the campaign, I owe them gratitude. Of particular mention is the Director. General of the Divine Mandate Campaign Committee, Engr. Chief Fidelis Nwankwo, whose astuteness and dedication added feather to the flight. Truthfully, this victory would not have been possible without the support of Ebonyi women. They defied threat and violence of those who wanted power through crooked means and stood hours at polling units to cast their votes for a man whose achievements in the first term have stunned everyone. Their unwavering support was also borne out of the kindness, charity, and motherly disposition of Her Excellency, the wife of the Executive Governor, Chief Mrs. Rachel Umahi. Her beauty lies in her kindheartedness.

It is not by magic, your good works have spoken for you. And, I enjoin you to remain magnanimous in victory.

Everything in life is governed by either natural or super factors. While natural factors are not proof from failure, super factors have superior potency and are dependable. However, the importance of natural factors lie in the fact that oftentimes, it is through them that the super factors are catalyzed to intervene in the natural to give man divine or supernatural intervention. This is why our Lord Jesus Christ commanded us to "watch (work) and pray"! It is when we diligently and positively exploit our natural environment that the divine forces intervene to give us supernatural results otherwise known as miracle. In my view, a diligent harness of our natural environment in order to elicit divine intervention amounts to what Pastor Chris Oyakhilome termed "atmosphere for miracles"! From the time of Abraham, God Almighty has continued to faithfully deliver all those who put their trust in Him. The victory of David Jesse and the Israelites over Goliath and the Philistines at the wilderness of Elah was a watershed on this principle of enduring triumph. Before the battle of Elah, David Jesse was prepared for the battle, hence he was already armed with his sling. At Elah, David picked five stones with which he armed himself. Beyond the preparations within the domain of the "natural", David Jesse launched into the realm of the "super" by handing over both his plans through supplications to God for His intervention and the grace of victory. David Jesse went further to demonstrate his faith in omnipotent God by boasting of the omnipotent God to the Philistine. The rest is history.

As things stand, the 2019 Ebonyi gubernatorial election promises to be a re-enaction of the battle of Elah where the opposition represents the carnal giant - Goliath. True to this representation, the opposition in Ebonyi State is full of itself and boasts of federal might which is merely carnal and unreliable. I read a social media update of one of the media aides of the APC gubernatorial candidate celebrating an alleged approval by both the APC national chairman and the APC unofficial leader who was governor of Lagos State to "award" victory in the 9th March Ebonyi gubernatorial polls to the APC candidate! So, the APC candidate is coming to Ebonyi gubernatorial political battle inspite of Ebonyi electorate; with "Federal might"; and in the names of the APC national chairman and that of the APC unofficial leader! Conversely, Umahi like the David of the Bible whom he took after by name and inclination began by watching (working) for Ebonyi people and has continued to watch (work) for Ebonyi people even at this period of campaigns. So far, Umahi has built over 40 % of Ebonyi roads on rigid pavement. Umahi's compassionate arm of empowerment has reached over 60,000 Ebonyians through channels like the Ministry of Human Capital Development, Family Succour and Upliftment Programme, the department of Religious and Welfare Matters, all the Christian denominations and other faith-based organizations. It is on record that Gov. Umahi's administration boasts of the highest number of meaningful political appointments in the history of Ebonyi State. Umahi has restored environmental sanitation to Ebonyi State and made it sustainable by building the largest waste recycling plant in Nigeria at Umuoghara, Ebonyi State. That pulverization plant holds over 3000 skilled and unskilled job opportunities for Ebonyi youths and offers Ebonyi people room to earn income through sale of domestic refuse. Aesthetics of Abakaliki Capital Territory have been enhanced through the construction of five beautiful roundabouts, water fountains and the installation of street lights along all the streets in Abakaliki and in satellite towns and council secretariats in the State.

Unrelenting Engr. Umahi has encouraged Ebonyi local engineers to fabricate UNIDO-standard biomas gasification power plants. Presently, a cumulative target of 7.5 megawatts of electricity is being realistically pursued. In no distant time, power generated from biomass will drive the three industrial clusters which Umahi is building in Uburu, Iboko and Umuoghara. The excess power generated from the biomass gasification power project will be sold to power distribution companies to generate revenue for the young state. Security of lives and property has been restored and sustained by Umahi through subventions to security agencies and the establishment of Ebonyi Neighborhood Security Watch. Umahi built and equipped the first virology centre in southeast Nigeria in Abakaliki just as all the General Hospitals in Ebonyi State have been upgraded. A modern Accident and Emergency ward is under construction at Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, while a creative tricycle ambulance scheme has been put in place to handle medical emergencies right from the villages of Ebonyi State. The three modern overhead bridges and the overhead glass tunnel are wonders to behold. Even though the list of Umahi's achievements which cannot be exhausted in a piece like this are enough to secure his second term, he is not resting on his oars. Umahi, like David Jesse, is not relying on "his sling and the five stones". A man who has built many churches as well as the magnificent Ebonyi Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki knows that the best point to seek victory from is the spiritual realm. Umahi has continued to pray with the body of Christ in Ebonyi State for electoral victory. His political campaigns have a compulsory prayer session which makes them more of prayer campaigns. Like David Jesse, David Umahi, combines both the super and the natural in his approach to the political battle of 9th March, 2019.

Certainly, Umahi's supernatural approach will yield divine victory. Without a punch, the walls of the 2019 gubernatorial election are already caving in for Governor David Umahi as 26 gubernatorial candidates of political parties have, on 5th March 2019, stepped down and pledged their support for him; just as the All Progressive Congress in Ebonyi State is ravaged by irreconcilable clash of interests! Lady Monica Chidinma Ada Eze the Founder and President of David Umahi Nweze Akuburoah Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA), a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) has described the threat by Senator Sunny Ogbuoji to revoke the contracts for the ongoing construction of the ecumenical center, the Ebonyi International Shopping Mall and the new Government House which he Ogbuoji described as white elephant projects as a revelation of Ogbuoji’s ignorance of what these projects stand for and his sinister and devious plots against Ebonyi State.

Monica stated that Senator Ogbuoji exposed his devious plots while addressing some of the inner caucus members of his political campaign organization while assuring his supporters of his victory come 9th March, 2019. To achieve this, the APC gubernatorial candidate in Ebonyi State for the coming elections have concluded arrangements to import mercenaries from other neighbouring States to be camped in an undisclosed areas to thumbprint the ballot papers knowing very well that on his he can't win his polling Unit talkless of making any impact in the State.

She commended Gov Umahi for his foresight in starting off the construction of the International Shopping Mall that will go a long way to ease the lives of Ebonyians and stop them from traveling everytime to Enugu State to purchase some sensitive items that the Mall will provide.

Continuing she said, “The idea of a new befitting Government House for Ebonyi State is an idea well conceived and assured the Governor that no plot will stop the actualization of all these projects because Senator Ogbuoji lacks what it takes to defeat Apostle Umahi in any election in Ebonyi State.”

She stated that if the approvals and comments by these great political leaders across political divides are anything to go by, one would have advise Governor Umahi to stop further campaigns and wait to be sworn in formally come 29th May 2019, but being the man of the people who loves interacting with his people he will not give in or stop campaigning because of all these approvals base on his giant strides in the State.

Everything that has happened in Ebonyi State, in the form of her uncommon transformation between May 29,2015 and today, 5th Feb, 2019,had ample opportunities to have happened between May 29,1999 to May 28,2015. The questions therefore are, "why did they not happen? "."Why was the State allowed to come to ruin despite the huge allocations that accrued to her every month, especially under the last administration? ". "What informed the needless drift to the morass of underdevelopment witnessed by the State? "

The simple answer to the questions,is that all the achievements recorded by the Umahi administration is owed to the fiscal discipline, frugality, hard bargain, prioritization, grace of God and the creative ingenuity of Gov Umahi and his lieutenants. It bears repeating that the accruals from the Federal Government to the State cannot take care of her salary obligations, a fact that is public knowledge. The status of her IGR is equally in the public domain.

Despite the known precarious state of her finances, the administration has recorded the numerous achievements that have been commended as uncommon transformation even by the most implacable enemies of the administration,and have not defaulted once in the timely payment of her salary obligations, instead, it has continued to pay 13th Month and even give a raise to the workers, while so many other States with huge IGR and Federal Allocation are known to be owing their workers several months salaries.

Without doubt, making positive difference is the life long commitment of Gov Umahi, thus the welfare of Ebonyians have continued to dictate the direction of his administration. It is as a result of this,that the administration intervened on majority of the Federally owned and neglected roads in the State, despite paucity of funds,just to make life less traumatic for our people who hitherto were going through great suffering plying those roads.

It is a tribute to the power of Gov Umahi's creative leadership that he has been able to translate almost all his campaign promises to reality, despite the poor finances of the State. These were promises that looked unrealizable and farfetched even at a time of economic buoyancy due to their loftiness. Rather than feeling threatened by the economic downturn that enveloped the country when he assumed office, like most of his colleagues who became supine, overwhelmed and confused, Gov Umahi took on the situation headlong, as an invigorating challenge, demonstrating through his creativity,energy and enthusiasm that he thrives better under challenges.

May I aver, that anybody who down plays any of the Umahi infrastructural achievements, betrays a great ignorance of history and development. The consensus among development experts, is that infrastructure is very vital for sustainable development and effective service delivery. According to World Bank Development Report, the provision of infrastructure plays a very crucial role in facilitating economic growth, competitiveness and development. This implies that for a people in a hurry to catch up with a racing world, that the way out, is massive investment in infrastructural development as a means of attracting investors and keeping industries.

To this end,it is a great act of disservice to the State to refer to any of the projects as wrong priority or white Elephant project,as everything; water,light,roads,bridges,urban renewal, rural development, education, health, industrialization and poverty level were all urgently begging for attention, which Gov Umahi is giving them in an integrative manner,with the evidence there for everyone to see, from roads,urban transformation,rural development,security, health, education, human development, poverty alleviation, youth and women empowerment etc.

The administration since assuming office, approached leadership with the highest sense of decorum, responsibility, frugality, discipline and strict adherence to the extant laws, especially, as it concerns appropriation. It has continued to demonstrate capacity and discipline to transparently deploy all monies under her care to the purpose for which they are meant,with abundant evidence of tangible achievements as proof.

For the administration, it has not been business as usual. It is the high premium that it placed on the observance of the strictest standard of accountability, prudence, integrity and adherence to appropriation laws by her functionaries, that made it possible for the commissioners in charge of the front line Ministries in the State, to come out clean, immaculate and acquitted of any financial infraction or wrong doing, after many months of investigation with intense searchlight beamed at her activities by the anti graft agency, ICPC, following a petition alleging monumental corruption against them.

The absolution of the Commissioners by ICPC, is no doubt an endorsement of the incorruptibility, transparency and internal check mechanism of the Umahi administration.

May I also call our attention to the fact that the Umahi administration declared over one billion naira as profits she made in 2016 from fixing the funds that came into the State in a deposit. The policy of the administration being that no fund that is not being used immediately,should be kept without being in a fixed deposit. This is the first time that I have heard of such business mindedness in the State. I stand to be corrected on this. The truth be told, no administration in the history of Ebonyi State has shown greater transparency, frugality and adherence to extant appropriation laws, than the Umahi administration.

One question that have continued to agitate the minds of all sincere observers,who have followed the developmental strides of the Umahi administration in the three Senatorial Zones of the State and the State capital, has remained, "where is he getting the funds for all these projects?". The answer again remains, the administration's prudence, Fiscal discipline, hard bargain, grace of God and creativity in leadership. This is why Ebonyians regard the continuity of Governor Umahi as an imperative for the sustainable development of the State through the consolidation of his lofty developmental policies.

She wonders where Senator Ogbuoji got his recent confidence from knowing that his unpopularity in the State is very pronounced and worsened by his eight years unproductive stay in the Upper chamber of the Legislative arm of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that was a complete disaster without any motion or bill to his credit. Not minding all the political offices that Senator Ogbuoji have occupied, he can't boast of any achievement in his constituency or in any way he has impacted on the lives of his constituents then one wonders how such an unserious candidate can defeat Apostle David Nweze Umahi who have redefined governance and made the State a reference point for other Governors in Nigeria in terms of provisions of dividends of democracy and practical infrastructural development and emancipation of our people.

According to Ada Ebonyi, Senator Ogbuoji went further to state that, “Going by the indices in the state at the moment, the margin of defeat is going to be 60/40 in favour of the APC as incumbency factor will not play any role in the election like it did in the 2015 elections and that the Ebonyi rice they are boasting of is actually rice coming from Kebbi State that is re-bagged in Abakaliki”. This assertion alone according to Lady Eze only demonstrates that Senator Ogbuoji needs serious immediate medical attention. This type of statement coming from a man dreaming of governing Ebonyi State not acknowledging the agricultural feats of Governor Umahi attested by the both Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh including the Ambassador of USA and other world leaders simply tells the world that Senator Ogbuoji is not only a joker but an unserious minded fellow who is totally ignorant of what he is happening in his own State.

“I must confess that I am at a loss on how to justify Senator Ogbuoji claim of defeating Umahi when the only road leading to his home town was only recently constructed by Governor Umahi and on daily basis he observes one of the wonders of Governor Umahi’s feats (Presco Flyover) along Abakaliki - Enugu Express road where Senator Ogbuoji takes shelter in what he calls his Campaign State Secretariat.

She noted that Senator Ogbuoji either doesn’t visit regularly or read news about Ebonyi State or failed to appreciate the feats of Governor Umahi or even read some of the astounding achievements acknowledged by both world and National leaders including the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Gen. Muhammad Buhari, who is the leader of APC who attested to the fact that His Excellency Engr. Chief Dave Nweze Umahi has performed exceptionally well, when he visited Ebonyi State or he is just trying to be mischievous..

Monica who is also the Technical Adviser (TA) on Media to Governor Umahi boasted that Senator Ogbuorji not minding his demonstration of ungratefulness will not secure up to ten percent (10%) of the total votes to be casted on March 2nd, 2019 and will be shamefully disgraced even in his community.

National Security refers to the security of a nation state, including its citizens, economy and institutions. The constitution of Nigeria, 1999 as amended provides that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government. This means that every responsible government owes the people the duty to provide security and guarantee the safety and well being of its citizens.

In Nigeria, the Federal Government has the exclusive responsibility to establish and maintain security institutions, whose mission shall be to defend the Nation against external aggression and domestic threats, and to uphold and enforce the criminal justice services to both the Federal and state law enforcement organs.

The Armed Forces of Nigeria and Paramilitary agencies as very critical security institutions that have their establishments in all the states of the Federation. In Ebonyi state, the administration of our dear Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi understands the imperative of building synergy with the Federal Security Agencies in securing a crime-free state. This underscores his unprecedented landmark achievements in the area of infrastructure and human development as well as his support to the welfare and dignity of the security establishments in the state.

The Governor believes that community security is a sinquanon for National Security. He believes that communities are not secured unless the inhabitants feel safe whether at home, in the street or at work; unless they have the freedom to pursue and obtain the fullest benefit from their domestic, social and economic lives, without fear or hindrance from crime and disorder. He believes that the best way to provide security is to engage the people in legitimate means of livelihood. It is for this reason that the Umahi administration rolled out many youths and women empowerment programmes, which are free of charge and also made funds available as soft loans to entrepreneurs, farmers and Civil servants. The Governor turned Ebonyi state into a construction site and made skilled and unskilled labour available for our youths and women. With the construction of smooth network of roads and availability of street lights across the nooks and crannies of the state, our communities are now, economically more viable.

Beyond economic security, environmental security, food security and energy security which the Umahi administration has guaranteed, Engr. Umahi has given modest commitment to the welfare and dignity of the security institutions and its personnel to enhance their morale in combating crimes in the state. Before the Umahi administration, the state commands of the various security agencies were without internal road network, completely without street light and in some cases dilapidated or wear structures that are not befitting of the status of any security institution. But today, the Nigeria Police Command, Abakaliki has the most beautiful premises when compared with any Police Command in Nigeria with asphalted internal roads, comprehensive street light and water provision. Some Police divisions and Area Commands now wear a new look. The Police Divisions at Kpirikpiri and Ekeaba will soon be relocated to the Permanent site as brand new buildings have been constructed by the state government. The road leading to State Security Service office has been constructed with concrete pavement. The Nkwegu Military Cantonment is not left out. All the internal roads are being reconstructed with drainage, in addition to solar light that has been provided. The Nigeria Prison Services Abakaliki also has solar light and modern prison complex under construction. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ebonyi Command has been relocated to the permanent site with premises adorned with concrete flooring. The internal road of the Federal Road Safety Corps has been asphalted. All the agencies now enjoy solar power and many operational assistance given to motivate them to perform their professional duties with passion. Infact, Ebonyi state ranks 1st among other states in the provision of social amenities to the security institutions in Nigeria.

The Umahi administration treats the security personnel posted to Ebonyi State as indigenes despite their states of origin or religion they profess. This rare sense of responsibility of the Umahi leadership has attracted public encomiums and commendations from the authorities of the agencies. The spouses of the various security personnel in Ebonyi State cannot stop thanking Engr. Umahi for extending the empowerment programme to them without minding their states of origin. About 403 of them received the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000.00) grant each in addition to the training which they received to enable them go into agro-related businesses of their choice. This gesture of Engr. Umahi has improved their livelihood and they have made happy families and increased the zeal of their husbands to work for a peaceful, united and secured Nigeria. This is why the wife of the Inspector General of Police, Mrs. Kpotun Idris who flagged off the empowerment programme was full of joy to hear of the various life changing empowerment programmes rolled out for the women in the state by the Governor of Ebonyi State.

Today, the synergy built by the Governor has paid off. Ebonyi state ranks lowest in crime rate. Residents can sleep with their two eyes closed. Investors are now trooping in. The CCTV Camera, operational vehicles provided by government and the operations of the Neighbourhood Watch have made community policing easy.

This is why the two cultural blocks of Ebonyi State, the Umuekumenyi Welfare Association and the Old Afikpo Union, as well as the Association of Ebonyi State Town Unions, home and abroad, the National Council for Women Society, Non- Governmental Organizations and Civil Society Organizations, the Interparty Advisory Council (IPAC), different youth and women organizations and indeed all well meaning Ebonyians, indigenes and non-indigenes alike have decided that the only way to say “THANK YOU” to this great, detribalized and patriotic leader is to come out and vote massively for Engr. David Nweze Umahi to enable him perfect God’s plan to make Ebonyi truly the Salt of the Nation.

THE DIVINE MANDATE ADVOCACY VOLUNTEER TEAM PERFECTS PLANS TO MOBILIZE ALL COMMUNITIES FOR DAVE UMAHI COME 2019 GENERAL ELECTION.


A volunteer group called Divine Mandate Advocacy Volunteer has perfected plan to mobilize all the autonomous communities in Ebonyi state and their diaspora branches to vote the most performing Governor in Nigeria, His Excellency Engr David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE come 2019 general election.

The group made up of the leadership of Umuekumenyi Welfare Association, the Old Afikpo Union, the Ebonyi state Association of Town Union Presidents and National Council for Women society, has its structure in the two cultural blocs of the state, 13 local Government Areas, over 140 Autonomous communities and 171 wards of the state.

The volunteer group resolved to embark on sensitization and advocacy on the unprecedented developmental achievements of the Governor in the various communities of the state and the need for every community to give him maximum vote and protect their votes until the Governor, His Excellency, Engr David Umahi is declared reelected by INEC.

The volunteer group said they were motivated by the unprecedented human and infrastructural transformation going on simultaneously in the 13 local Government Areas and the model capital city, best in Nigeria, coupled with the principle of equity and equality of senatorial zones which allows every zone to go for 8years maximum tenure under the constitution.

Senator Emmanuel Onwe the indefatigable and amiable Commissioner of Information for Ebonyi State has described the Governor of Ebonyi State,Chief Engr. David Nweze Umahi as a phenomenal, enigma, Philanthropist par excellence, extraordinary and a historical figure embodied with the unique qualities needed to develop and boost the economic and infrastructural growth of Ebonyi State.

Stating this while hosting different groups of Ebonyi people in his palatial compound situated in Abakaliki the State capital of Ebonyi State further postulated that, "In three years, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Apostle David Umahi has through the divine mandate enthrusted upon him since assuming the reins of leadership of Ebonyi State in May 2015 executed the goals and vision of his administration with an uncommon passion in such a short space of time. It is quite astonishing that even as meagre the allocation given to the State from the Federation account is, the Governor has judiciously managed the resources so well that it is impossible to achieve the result Ebonyians are currently benefitting from today.

Senator Emmanuel Onwe one of the most vibrant members of the State Executive Council is the Commissioner of Information was a happy man and proud to be part of the great and ingenious feats of Governor Umahi. Obasi,not minding the political parties involved,said that, Eng.David Nweze Umahi in all honesty has performed more than expected and this why it is difficult for him to criticize his administration.

David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA) during the early hours of the day staged a solidarity road walk to Ebonyi State Government house, Abakaliki, to affirm the State Governor, Engr.David Nweze Umahi for second tenure.

The organization, who embarked on the walk under the auspices of EBONYI STATE MUST CONTINUE WORKING BEYOND 2019, said that the decision to publicly identify and support the re-election of Governor Umahi in 2019 is on the account of the various laudable initiatives of Umahi to reposition and scale up the educational sector in the State, health sector, empowerment, physical infrastructural developments and Job creation as well as massive infrastructural projects across the State.
