So how does he 100% identify this original DW1?

Even our late chief Mecho and HondaJosh couldn't come to an agreement on which is original ATF

I am not sure that not being in a tin can and costing 28-30k per quart assures of the ATF genuineness
Hondajosh sometimes do have the original and sometimes the fake Chinese though he will tell you it's the Chinese ones.

Myparts is reliable and have genuine honda atf

Ohhhh new radiator can't work with thermostat?
They are fake! Can't withstand radiator psi before the thermostat opens up. Also, they can't handle the contraction when it cools down. They mostly leak from the bottom plastics or top plastics... Lastly, the fins are large that they can't trap air adequately for effective cooling which can make your engine to run hotter especially if you don't use coolant.

Good day to all the Auto engineers in the house,
Pls I need a quick response on this one, my Honda civic 09 radiator leaks and I have experience overheating twice despite removing the radiator and adding gum to it. So I'm planing on getting a tokunbo radiator.
My question is, is it a must the radiator be Honda civic or can i buy other car brands that works on it?
Buy radiator for your exact car.
Go for new one if you are not using thermostat. If you are using thermostat buy tokumbo.

Transmission travel time has increased.. You need to add at least half quart to the normal measurement/Guage.
Car TalkRe: Car Vibrates When Brake Is Applied by Dwarfgod: 4:50pm On Jul 02
KOMBE:
Most mechanics will always tell you that the brake disc is bad each time they hear that Car Vibrates When Brake is Applied.
That is not always the case, for mine the pipe supplying hydraulic fluid to the brake shoe was blocked and caused the vibration.
Now you should be concerned about what caused the blockage. It's recommended to change your brake fluid every two years!

I will advice you to bleed the four wheels brake lines to have fresh fluid in the lines. I am sure the old fluid must have absorbed lots of water..

How is your journey with your TL going? Can you make a little review about the cons and pros? What mileage is your car??
Car TalkRe: Low Ride Issue by Dwarfgod: 5:11pm On Jun 20
rymalex:
It's a Toyota Yaris.
My friend raised his Toyota crown and also changed wheels. The vehicle still handles well.
If the car still handles well to you then you don't know what a good handling in a car feels like.

I wish you luck! When you raise it, avoid abrupt maneuvering, speed above 100km, avoid sudden braking and if you weld the shock avoid potholes. Also, make sure ur Abs and Vsc are working coz, they will be working harder now saving your ass..

rymalex:
Please house I plan to lift my vehicle shock absorber as the vehicle is too low.

Some say it's welder work while some say it's pieces tyre that mechanic will use to raise it. Please I need advice on how to go about it.
Which car?? Any raising will ruin your car performance and stability. That is how most gets into accident... Don't raise your car!! Warning!!!
The least you can do is to change your tire size but not to big to hit your fender.

Getting original in the market is tough, that is what is usually available.
How about valvoline? Can it work?
Yes, it can work.. it's fully synthetic.
Car TalkRe: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Dwarfgod: 7:03pm On Jun 17
flootintin:
Currently experiencing the same, I want to do drain and fill. Is this original?
No.. it's pure fake! If you open it.. it has no distinct smell. It's smells too plain.. also when you shake it vigorously, it will foam up like say soap dey am and retains the foamy nature for a longer time but the original has a good anti foamy detergent and when shaked vigorously within secs the foam will disappear.

Yea it has a transmission code , I don’t have it but My mechanic said it’s responsible for the hard shift problem also pls by x3 , do you mean using 24 qts original fluid after draining the bad one
Are you overhauling your transmission?
By x3, i mean 3 quarts by 3 = 9. But always good to get 10 quarts for extra top up.

Drain and Fill 3 quarts, drive around maybe 10miles and drain again. Do it three times
Car TalkRe: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Dwarfgod: 4:52pm On Jun 15
hayzed1090:
Tanx boss I really appreciate your response. The car was actually having the hard shift problem and a burnt Trasmission oil from the person that sold the car to me.
Do you have any transmission code? If not! Do x3 transmission change. With original oil. The gear go sharp again...

Hint! Always buy MRS fuel.. not the best but better
Car TalkRe: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Dwarfgod: 3:32pm On Jun 15
hayzed1090:
Hello house … pls is it safe to use this for servicing a 2012 Acura zdx transmission
Please just avoid this fake knock off! You gear will start misbehaving. You will be experiencing hard shifting, and downshifting when coasting to a stop. Also you will experience transmission flare... e go do like ur solenoid is bad and that is when you take it to a mechanic and your Journey of NO return begins.. also this fake transmission fluid will smell burnt after 1000 miles.. If you ignore the hard shifting etc.. you will be shaving off your transmission particles...

Please buy original Honda aft DW1 and not in tincans... it's sold for 28k to 30k per quart...

You will be needing 8 quarts to do a proper drain and refill x2 if you don put this fake atf inside. And after 10kmiles do another drain and refill to make it normal x3 change recommended.

thank you very much ogami.. i test drive the two of them yesterday, am going for the MDX.. love the handling and all

i appreciate it
I realized you modified your post because 2014 mdx wasn't the mdx you were comparing to 2009 rx350.

Meanwhile, 2014 mdx can't be compared with 2009 rx350.. 2014 mdx is a superior car! Good you have test driven both cars and confirmed it.... Try not to buy basic mdx.. buy the tech package with Shawd to get the Els surround sound system too. Cheers!
Car TalkRe: Stop Inflating Your Car Tyres To 40 PSI by Dwarfgod: 9:06am On May 29
Dtruthspeaker:
You must be referring to city driving. In city i keep my tires at 40. But on the day i am traveling, i must go down to 30 so that I can safely drive at any speed. For long distance travel causes the tires to inflate.. You can try it with old tires, you will see it swell maybe after an hour or 2.

So, the 30psi is to help you live and not die or be injured from an accident arising from your burst tyres. In Truth, no one can control burst tyres all those things they say like don't touch your brakes, keep your steering straight are lies. Its best you drive under safe conditions than to find out that they don't work
No, bro, there is no tire burst. I have traveled with 45psi cold for 4 hours in a hot weather it climbed to 48psi which is not even yet the maximum psi cold at the tire sidewalls, which is 50psi. Mind you! At 50 psi max cold, the tire manufacturer has given room for tire expansion too...

At 30 psi you will be riding on your tire sidewalls, believe me. Also, it depends on the tire too. Like i said, mine is 50 psi cold max, 18 rim for suv. I don't know your tire rating.
Car TalkRe: Stop Inflating Your Car Tyres To 40 PSI by Dwarfgod: 4:30pm On May 25
Good topic!

I used to go with what the owners' manual recommends, which is 32psi for the four tires until i found out the outside edge of my front brand new tires were fading faster after 6k miles... I did my research and decided to inflate it to 40psi front and 37psi back. I noticed an improvement in handling and improved rolling resistance though a slight decrease in comfort but you will barely notice unless you are a car guy. After some miles, i checked my tires the outside edge physical look improved, and not looking shredded anymore. So i decided to twerk it alittle bit more, so i checked my tire max cold psi, which is 50 psi.. I have now increased the front to 45psi cold and rear 40psi cold, i have noticed all these afterwards....
1) increased in mpg.
2)sharp movement of my car upon acceleration,
3.)My car now rolls/coast better to a stop without much resistance.
4) improved handling..
5) my tire sidewalls are hard enough now and no cracking also better stability when taking fast turn
6) long tire lifespan..

The only disadvantage is less comfort! But it's bearable...
I am monitoring the tires for any increased centerwears.. i have driven 300miles so far, everything is still good....

When i was using 32psi, my car was somehow floaty that i was thinking my shocks are bad and also my mpg was bad.

Note: car is an suv with 18 rim...

My point is that you shouldn't always follow the owners manual recommendations. Also monitor your tire wears and adjust accordingly.. and if one side of your tire is wearing out than the other then you need an alignment.

Car TalkRe: Can I Replace US Mobil 1 5W-30 With Hardex And How Good Is Hardex? by Dwarfgod: 5:47pm On May 15
You can hardly go wrong with any oil as long as you don't do extended oil change 10kmiles. If you are willing to change your oil at 4500miles, you can use any oil with the correct oil weight, including hardex. Meanwhile, you should be more concerned about the oil filter quality. Don't ever go cheap there!

Car TalkRe: Engine Stalls When Going Over Bumps, Bad Roads And Breaking Hard by Dwarfgod: 8:56pm On Apr 17
Your problem is the Oxygen sensor. First check the fuse for the heater circuit to make sure it's good, if it's broken then change the fuse and reset the Ecu. If the check engine light comes back again. Move to Changing the Oxygen sensor and use obd scan tool to read live data to make sure you bought a good one. Don't buy new one they are selling in Naija, if you must buy new one make sure it's OEM which is not cheap. So buy tokumbo and use obd scanner to make sure it's working.

Before removing the bad Oxygen sensor use the life data to compare with the sensor 2 upstream. Rev the engine at idle to see how the wave fluctuates and stabilizing....

Don't start doing guessing work with your mech!! Solve the Oxygen sensor first, if it did not stop your problem, you can continue diagnosing..

Who has experience both new and tokunbo o2 sensor, which one is better please, I went to where they are selling new one, the seller told me new o2 sensor is better, meanwhile before I went to him I have met someone selling tokunbo used o2 sensor, he told me that the new one are fake and it doesn't work.

Please guru, which is better
Are you getting for the downstream o2 sensors or the upstream A/F sensor. If it's the latter, go for tokunbo and use an obd scanner to read the graph to make sure it's working... You can manage aftermarket o2 sensor for downstream but always use oem for upstream...

In a simply answer.. Go for tokunbo. 🍻

15 million for 250k miles mercedes or what? since you don't know adding vehicle's mileage is part of its identity which will weigh your price as reasonable or unreasonable.
Car TalkRe: Acura MDX 2014 Vs Rx 350 2009 by Dwarfgod: 5:21pm On Mar 24
MrReeseG:
Just in case you go with the MDX (I hope you do)

I discovered a hack to get around 14-15mpg city driving (compared to the 12.5mpg I'd usually get before). I do not go past 2000rpm (trust me, this thing is fast and you mostly would have no need to), always ensure you don't fill the SH-AWD bars on the infotainment screen past 2 bars (check image), this car hates idling, so don't idle, build your speed slowly and brake slowly (it's also a heavy car)
Good hint! Btw 14-15mpg is it with Ac or not?

Nice ride you got! And it's advanced package! smiley

Yesterday was a partial sad day for me. The hose that ran from the aftermarket transmission cooler to the transmission pulled in high speed, didn't realize it until I got to church and it was too late, I lost all the fluid.

I really underestimated the fluid pressure and paid dearly for it cry cry cry
How many quarts did you lose? I will advice you change the hose if it's easy to pull out without clip on it. Also, get a traditional hose clamp next time. That idemitsu is costly to loss a quart embarassed

Acura MDX 2010 vs Rx 350 2009

Can someone please help compare these cars?

Which is more reliable
Both are reliable.
If you like performance go for acura.
If you are good with maintenance "acura"
Mpg is terrible in Mdx but good Smile per gallon instead.
Both parts are readily available.

Go for rx350 for comfortable driving experience and less tech wahala.
Not as sharp handling as mdx.
Rx350 has floaty feel via suspension.

Both cars have their common problems but nothing terrible.

Cheers 🍻

I am fully aware that what I am about to say is against popular opinion on this forum

But leave the fan on direct and thermostat removed...Let the sleeping dog lie

Even with the fan direct and thermo removed, the engine will still reach operating temp within less than 10 minutes of driving..but you also have the added advantage of assured engine cooling at the expense of a few extra minutes of extra fuel consumption...
It's not the same temperature on someone who sits
and let the standing fan swing side to side vs when the other pins the fan in one position while seated in front.

NB: this is not about standing fan.

What year is your Tl? Is it fwd or shawd? If you don't mind, how much did everything cost you to bring it down here.
Thanks for your response.

Btw, it's a known problem with acura tl seat to pill from the side. You can get an upholstery to fix it, just the pilling side. It will be ok! But overhauling the whole seat will look terrible. Don't do it!
