The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 4,536 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results which were earlier withheld for allegations of multiple infractions.

Igbere TV reports that over 1.8million candidates had sat for the unified examination between April 11 and April 18, but only 1,792,000 results were released on May 11.

On Friday, May 31, however, the examination body said it had cleared 4,536 out of 4,760 withheld results.

JAMB said the release followed the decision of a committee set up to examine the multiple facial identities.

The board said that the facial match recognition was carried out by its specialised software and Information Technology experts.

In a statement made available to Igbere TV by JAMB’s Head of Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, he added that the Nigerian Navy Secondary School centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State, had been suspended for “acts not acceptable by the board.”

“Following the consideration of the committee on the 4,760 candidates whose results were withheld due to multiple facial matches with different names, the board has released the results of 4,536 absolved of complication.

“The board also released the results of 231 candidates who sat for the examination at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta, Ogun State. However, the centre has been suspended for acts not acceptable by the board. Out of the number subjected for screening, the board will subject the results of 127 candidates for further physical examination while the results of 97 candidates established to have involved in infractions are withheld.

“Those to be subjected to further physical examination will be contacted. They must appear before an inspection team to clarify other likely areas of multiplicity. The 127 have been grouped in zones for convenience and easy accessibility.”

A 27-year-old Indian man has said that he is going to sue his parents for giving birth to him without he granting them the consent to bring him into this world.

Raphael Samuel, went viral after he made the announcement in a YouTube video in which he wore a fake beard and sunglasses, saying that his parents should pay for his life since he was conceived without his consent.

According to the BBC, Samuel said that it was wrong to bring children into the world because they would have to put up with lifelong suffering.

Chimpanzees utilises the tools they've got to escape from zoo.

After a recent storm in Belfast zoo a group of chimpanzees were able to fashion a makeshift ladder out of a fallen tree branch and use it to climb up a steep stone wall at the edge of their enclosure.

A new discovery shows that women brain is 3years younger than male of the same age.

This was made by scientists at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis who used PET scans to study the flow of oxygen and glucose in the brains of 205 people.

They found that women's brains were around three years younger, metabolically speaking, which may explain why women tend to stay mentally sharp for slightly longer than men as they age.

"We're just starting to understand how various sex-related factors might affect the trajectory of brain aging and how that might influence the vulnerability of the brain to neurodegenerative diseases," said senior author and assistant professor of radiology Manu Goyal.

Looks like it's time to change your passwords, again: security experts have flagged up a monster data breach made up of some 773 million email addresses and 21 million passwords.

They're calling it Collection #1, and more collections are reportedly on the way.

First made public by security consultant Troy Hunt, the data dump comes from multiple different sources – perhaps more than 2,000 – and amounts to 87GB of data in all.

To make matters worse, the passwords are in plain text and easily readable.

The package was spotted being hawked around for sale among hacker communities, and could be used for credential stuffing – a technique where bad actors try multiple email address and password combinations on as many different apps and services as they can.

A massive swarm of locusts plagued Mecca, Saudi Arabia, earlier this week, prompting authorities at Islam’s holiest site to launch a cleaning operation to remove them.

Videos posted to social media showed the insects swarming around cleaners and worshipers in the city’s Grand Mosque, where millions of Muslim pilgrims congregate every year.
