I decided to create this thread for three categories of people.
1. The average Nigerian
2. Those who want to learn how to make home made for just learning sake
3. Those who will condemn Home Made Food.
Without much ado, let me introduce how we come across the Home made food for infants from the age of 6months and Above.
If they called you a good husband or father that means you are doing your responsibilities at home. The birth of our son make me to be among father with responsibilities in terms of provisions for home.
At 15days we introduced Milk to him, the mistake I will never repeat in my life. You maybe wondering that is too early at 15days.... Story for another day.
So, I do purchase NAN for open market #2200, supermarket #2500 and the boy will consume two Tins per week (400grams) that is about 18k-20k per month just for milk not include other expenses like diapers and the rest.
He consumed milk for like 5months before my Sisters In-law brought some Home made food on her visit. She taught my wife how to made it and to God be the glory, that's what he had been consuming even till date with other food (whenever we eat).
Apart from saving money it is very easy to made and it promotes growth. So I'm going to teach you How to make Home Made food.
You will need the following items
1. Soybeans
2. Guinea Corn
3. Dried Yellow Maize
4. Groundnuts
5. Dried Prawns
6. Date
Extra
7. Dried plantains if you like but not necessary, the above six can do the magic.
To save yourself the stress you can give the soybeans to the grinder to remove the chaff, or you can do it yourself by frying it and use pestle to pound it, just for the chaff to remove. Pick all dirts in other items.
The Date should be break and the seed it in be remove.
Pour together and grind it to powder form.
So that is the first stage.
The next is how to prepare it, which is very easy. If you know how to prepare Semo you are good to go.
Put water on fire, put small quantities of Home Made food powder/flour in a bow put water to paste. Pour the paste powder/flour in hot water on fire and begin to stir until it bring desire quality, don't let it mould like semo or EBA but like pap. So you can serve with Milk preferably MYBOY, MYBOY is cheap compare to other products.
We purchase all the above items for just #3000 and it will serve him for a month. His growth is rapid and he is very intelligent, people normally think he is 2 but just 15months.
You can save a lot from Home made food, likewise limit your children from consuming too much of Milk that are preserved by chemicals which can or may cause Cancer in children.

With above listed ingredients, grind it to flour mode.
Prepare it like semo.
Pour little like a tin in bowl, put water on fire let it boil, add the paste flour, stir till it bring desire quality.
I will ask my wife further.

Na lie I swear, dem spray out house with powerful insecticide of which on a normal day, no body will sit inside for one second without running out, I lost my tasting and smelling sense last two weeks and them spray our house with these insecticide I no even know, only for some to come inside the same house I dey and rush out instantly owing to the strong smell of the insecticide.

All these can food self, they are cost.
That's why we go local. Maize+Guinea corn+Soybeans+ Crayfish+Groundnuts and some other ingredients. Very cheap and promote growths. It safe a lot.

When Rats/Wallgecko die in a corner of your bedroom, that smell sense you lost will be restore
