We wrote at different times o... wrote mine on the 18th of November and they got back to us all with success response on the 24th. Regret mails went out earlier I guess. However, be informed this is not a rule of thumb. Apparently, they ran a 'tight recruitment window' this year. All the best

The sentence "Please be prepared and make adequate provision for your disengagement from your current employer." in the mail sent to us

I) Does it mean one has already been confirmed as at the time of sending the mail to us?
If it's this, then it's something reassuring and good

or

II) Does it mean that after the last interview stage(HR) we should wait to get a feedback before disengaging from our previous employer? And this brings the last question

III) If (II), are we going to be given a month period(before training school) to disengage proper from our current employer?

Good evening bro.

In my opinion and from the information gathered from those that have gone through the process in previous years, "if you pass the management chat, you are as good as in", but that doesn't mean you can't still be dropped though rare. I'm sure the HR chat isnt for them to sieve candidates and drop some, I guess it's for the HR Head to know those that would be coming in for the training school. Thus, your chat with the HR Head should not lead to you being drop except in occasions of 'gross misconduct' that may make her doubt how you scaled through other stages. The emphasis on "disengagement" is major because the training school starts very very soon--in my opinion 23rd of January. So while it is may be a bit risky (for you) to resign from your current employer because you do not have a confirmation to attend training school from Stanbic, it's advantageous for Stanbic to ensure you show up for the school at their call, thus we can say the benefit is more skewed to the prospective employer. I sent a message to them regarding some company policies which may require that you give enough notice before you resign and I requested for the exact date for the training school so I could plan with that, but contrary to the last paragraph of the mail they sent us which says we shouldn't hesistate to ask questions, they did not respond to me and I fault that.

I would suggest you wait for the chat before you take any action, you could discuss the timing with the lady and I believe that if enough candidates complain about the short timeframe, you may earn yourselves a postponement...lol

Kindly note that the training school in itself is not an offer of employment. You only begin your employment with the firm upon you success at training school which I read in last year's thread to be an average of 70% in all exams. After this would you be up for medicals and all other necessary activities before induction.

In summary, just hold all your questions for the HR Head (good questions only abeg o so dat u wont shoot ursef in d leg...lol).

That's my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Twas cool. We were 5 and we all had our interviews on Monday and Tuesday... The chat was with just 1 person, and it was interesting... Jz questions about yourself and the company. And your answers would lead to very interesting questions. .... It was nice and fun and not as intense as the panel interview

What will I do?
Finesse consists of a 24-month training programme which encompasses two international 12-month placements in our hotels. During your placements, you will gain all-round Finance experience whilst working in all the main Finance functions. You will also gain exposure in the other key functional areas of Operations, Business Development and Human Resources. You will participate in off-the-job training and have business driven projects to complete. Following successful completion of this 2 year programme you will then be assigned into a full-time Finance role in year 3.
During Finesse your progress is constantly assessed, so you always know how you are developing. As the programme is so flexible, it will take into account all training that you have had to date and build on it, rather than making you repeat things unnecessarily.
Where will I be?
The location of your placements will depend on availability and could be anywhere within the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (subject to Visa restrictions etc.)
Learning & Development:
The key focus here will be for you to complete the CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) Professional Finance qualification. This is a highly regarded professional qualification with global recognition in the Finance profession. This process will be supported by Hilton in terms of both funding and learning support. The CIMA qualification typically takes 3 years to complete, so this will be completed during your first 2 placements and then completed in your 3rd year whilst working full-time within one of our hotel operations. During your 24-month training you will also take part in a number of other face-to-face training courses focused on other business competence areas. As a Finesse participant you will also have access to the Hilton University, our on-line learning and development tool, through which you can complete e-learning courses, learn a language on-line and make use of our on-line business library.
