FLAWLES:You chickenshit, u beta go get a life. |
...continuation Mrs. Olakunle, Lanre's mother, was standing in front of the nurse at the reception of Royal Care hospital. She was begging the nurse who appears to be uninterested in her pleas. Mrs. Olakunle had come to purchase her BP drugs but she was unaware that the prices had increased since the last time she came. She was shocked when the nurse told her the new price but when she had pleaded with the nurse to sell it to her at the former price and that she had come with all the money she had left on her, the nurse just ignored her. She was still pleading when two ladies walked into the reception. One of them appeared to be a princess and the other, maybe a friend. They walked towards Mrs. Olakunle and the nurse and the lady who seemed to be a princess asked, 'Nurse, what is the matter?' 'Don't mind this woman' the nurse replied. 'She came here to buy drugs of which, the price had increased. I told her the new price and she started begging me to sell it to her at the old price. She...' 'What is the old price and what is the new price?' The lady interrupted. 'The old price is #5000 and the new price is #5400' the nurse replied. 'So, it's because of #400 that you don't want to sell her the drugs. Anyway, just give her the drugs I'll pay the bills' 'Okay' the nurse said as she went to the hospital's pharmacy to get the drugs. 'Thank you very much, my daughter' Mrs. Olakunle said. 'I'm very grateful. May God continue to bless you' 'Amen, ma. But it's nothing. You don't need to thank me' The nurse came back with the drugs and gave it to Mrs. Olakunle who thanked the princess again and left. After paying Mrs. Olakunle's bills, the princess asked if the doctor was around. A question to which the nurse answered in the affirmative and turning to the other lady, she said, 'Wait for me here. Let me go and see the doctor' and off she went. ********** TBC |
CHAPTER TWO The car moved towards the boutique and stopped in front of it. It was a black 2013 model Nissan pathfinder. The front passenger door opened and Feyisara got down. She moved back to open the door for her mistress, Adeola who got down and squinted her eyes as she stepped into the scorching sun. Her other maid, Ronke also got down but the driver remained glued to his seat and when all the ladies had gotten down and shut the door, he drove off to find a parking space. Adeola walked into the boutique with Feyisara and Ronke scurrying after her. The inside of the boutique was well lit with flourescent of different colours and clothes of different colours and prices stared at them as they walked in. One look at the price tags on the clothes and one would know that the boutique was tailored for the rich and high class in the society. And that was the class of people that actually patronised it. After about one hour of walking around the boutique and picking different types of clothes, the three ladies walked to the cashier and Adeola paid for the clothes before heading out with the cashier's smile bidding them farewell. They got into the car and when they were underway, Adeola said, 'Feyisara and Ronke, you two are escorting me to Club Spartacus tonight' 'What time would that be?' Ronke asked. 'By eight in the evening' 'Have you forgotten your drugs, your majesty?' Feyisara asked. 'No, I haven't. We're heading to the hospital now' *********** TBC |

...continuation The mild rays of the early morning sun spilled into the room through the open window and fell on his face. It was the bright morning of a brand new day and birds were fluttering and singing praises to God in the near-by woods so loud that one couldn't help but listen to them and appreciate the wonderful works of nature. Lanre rolled on the bed as he desperately tried to shut out the sounds entering his ears but no matter how much he tried, the sounds grew louder. Finally, he opened his eyes and the rays of the sun filled his eyes. Lanre was a graduate of visual art from the Obafemi Awolowo university and he was popularly known as 'Lanre painter' because of his paintings. The particular painting that made him popular was his painting of the vice-chancellor of the university at the time. The vice-chancellor actually gave him a personal award when he was graduating. He was tall, slim, light-skinned and hairy. He got out of bed and headed straight to the bathroom where he brushed his teeth and also took his bath. Lanre was the only child of his parents and he had lost his Dad while he was still a young boy. In fact, he hardly knew his dad. His mother had been the one caring for him ever since. When he registered for Jamb and chose visual art, he had gotten into a fight with his mum who wanted him to read law. But when she saw that he was adamant, she left him to his choice. Throughout his stay in school, he always came home every weekend to check on his mum and would always came home with one painting or the other. He was so good in painting and drawing to the extent that he could draw someone off-hand just because he had met that person once or twice. Throughout his stay in school and even after he graduated, he was always making one painting or the other. 'Don't you have anything to do other than drawing?' his mother had asked him one afternoon. 'Mum, painting and drawing is my life. If I stop it, I stop living' he had replied with a smile. A knock on his door reminded him that he was taking too long to get himself dressed up. 'Yes Mum' He answered at the sound of the knock. 'Well, your food is ready' his mum replied. 'Thank you, Mum' He finished creaming his body and stared at the picture hung on the wall. They were the pictures he had drawn and framed. Pictures of him and his friends, pictures of his mum and so on adorned the walls of his room. With a final nod of his head, he went out of the room to face the business of the day which was another session of drawing and painting. ********** END OF CHAPTER ONE |

CHAPTER ONE ADEOLA woke up slowly as she tried desperately to retain the last dregs of the dream. But no matter how she tried, she lost a bit of it by the seconds. Finally, she opened her eyes, stretched her legs and arms, yawned and surrendered to reality. She tried to remember what the dream had been but it was gone. All she knew was that it was very satisfying. Adeola was the only daughter and the only child of her parents, Mr. and Mrs Adekunle Johnson. Mr. Johnson, her father was a rich man and at the same time, a King. He was the Group CEO of Johnson and co. engineering firm, one of the largest construction companies in the country. He hardly had time for the company became his role as a monarch took all his time. Adeola got out of bed and went into the bathroom to brush her mouth before heading out of the room with the aim of going to greet her parents. She went to the family sitting room and met only her mother, Mrs Atinuke Johnson. She greeted her and asked for her father. 'He should be in the palace waiting for his chiefs' Mrs Atinuke said. Adeola went into the palace to greet her father but it was empty. Anytime she entered the palace, she always admired it. It was painted purple and white. The tiled floor also had matching colours and different pictures and paintings adorned the wall of the palace. As she moved out of the palace, she called Feyisara, one of her maids to meet her in her room. Being a princess, she had maids who followed her wherever she goes. She doesn't see them as maids though, she sees them as her friends. She entered her room and sat on the edge of her bed. Not long after, Feyisara entered. She was of average height, slim with all the necessary curves at the necessary places, light skinned. In fact, she was beautiful in every sense of the word. 'Your majesty, good morning' she said as she entered. 'Good morning, Feyisara. How was your night?' Adeola asked. 'It was fine, your majesty. And yours?' 'It was splendid and stop addressing me as ''your majesty''' Adeola said with a friendly frown. Feyisara only smiled and bent her knees. Adeola was fun to be with. 'I have told you times without number' Adeola continued. 'Will you stop addressing me as ''your majesty''?' 'Yes, your majesty' Feyisara's smile grew into a broad grin. Adeola waved her hand in desperation. No matter how much she corrected, Feyisara was always adamant. 'Anyway,' she said, 'tell Ronke, you two are escorting me to the boutique this afternoon. I need to re-stock my wardrobe' 'Ok, Your majesty. Anything else?' 'Yes, something else. Stop calling me ''your majesty''' Adeola said frankly. 'Ok, your majesty. I'll stop' Feyisara replied with a mischievous smile, bowed her head as she went out of The Presence. ********* TBC |
