Nairaland / General / The Truth About Professor Worugji And The Faculty Of Law, University Of Calabar. by ebassey759: 11:07pm On Aug 16, 2020
THE TRUTH ABOUT PROFESSOR WORUGJI AND THE FACULTY OF LAW, UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR...
As the Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka recently stated at an art gallery in commemoration of his 85th birthday saying "...so when you read things on social media, take it with a pinch of salt, decide whether it makes sense because the person who posted it might have a private agenda" he certainly cautioned Nigerians not to believe everything they read on social media, he was not far from the truth and definitely referring to a post like this: UNICAL, FACULTY OF LAW ACADEMIC FRAUD: PROFESSOR DEMOTED TO GRADUATE ASSISTANT, THE OTHER STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. If you have not read this then you really need to check it out first before reading my post below. But don't be angry, The writers themselves know the truth. It is part of the war between correct practices and abuse of office practitioners and the puritans in the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar being brought to the public through the social media. The corrupt practices practitioners must use crude means, instruments and falsehood in the war since they have no weapons. I can only do my part by letting the public know that truth as anonymous petitions have no place in the world of truth!

Prof. I. N. E. Worugji's brief Bio:

He attended the Baptist High School, Port Harcourt where he had the WASC with a grade 1 in 1975. Went to England in 1977 on the State Scholarship for HND in Business Studies at the Stockport College and completed the programme in 1979. He immediately proceeded the the Manchester Polytechnic for the degree course in Law. The Law degree over there is a three year course(1979-1982). He graduated with a second class honours( 2:2) BA(Hons) Law. The Polytechnic later became the Manchester Metropolitan University.Thereafter He went to the University of Essex for the Master of Laws (LLM). This was 1982/1983 academic session. He completed the programme on the record time in 1983 and the degree was conferred on him during the 1984 Convocation Ceremony as the University practice. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1984 after completion of the one year course of study in the Nigerian Law School. It is a fact that he changed his name. His name was formerly UCHENDU Israel Nsitelem Emenike and now WORUGJI Israel Nsitelem Eme. The change of name is legitimate and lawful but the detractors are not comfortable with his choice of change of name. He engaged briefly in legal practice in Port Harcourt before leaving to be a Law Teacher at the University of Calabar in December 1988. He rose through to the ranks and became a Professor of Law after obtaining Doctor of Philosophy( PhD) degree in African Law from the University of Ibadan in 2010. All his promotions passed through the University due process as his publications were assessed following the University procedure and found relevant to his scholarship. He was a Head of Department for 4 years and acting Dean of Law for 3 years covering 7 years in active management of the Faculty of Law. He was also a member of the University Governing Council for 4 years. The University never at any stage doubted his qualifications and scholarship. Current students and Alumnus that passed through the faculty of law, Unical will tell you he is diligent, a scholar, very straightforward and a man of integrity as He will never descend so low at any stage try to influence or interfere with the due process. I certainly don't know what his detractors are afraid of, to be busy writing anonymous and frivolous petitions to the University authority on daily basis and publishing senseless things on the social media about him. It is quite a pity that this level of senseless and ignorance can be exhibited by persons who claim to be in academics.

To confirm Prof. Worugji's qualification on the University of Calabar website pls click HERE or visit https://www.unical.edu.ng/staff/user/profile-israeleme

As you can see Prof. Worugji's academic qualifications are very clear; BA(Hons) Law, Master of Laws( LLM), BL for the Nigerian Bar, Doctor of Philosophy PhD in African Law. But his detractors are not telling the world that the institutions where he obtained his certificates have disclaimed him in any way nor are his qualifications not relevant to his scholarship as a Law Professor. All they say is Worugji is very powerful and influential.

Moreover some of his classmates who attended the same Manchester Polytechnic in UK and obtained BA(Hons) Law in 1982 are now very respectable Senior Advocates of Nigeria. So if anyone doubts he was called to the Nigerian Bar, or claims he is not qualified to be called to the Nigeria Bar should verify same from the Council of Legal Education instead of publishing defamatory statements and fake news on social media out of malice. So let the ignorant continue in their fooleries.

Nairaland / General / RE: PROF. WORUGJI AND PROF. UHUKA DEMOTED OR REDEPLOYED TO THE INSTITUTE OF AFRI by ebassey759: 10:58pm On Aug 16, 2020
BY CONCERNED STAFF AND STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALBAR, CALABAR, CROSS RIVER STATE.

According to Wikipedia, “Fake news (also known as junk news, pseudo-news, or hoax news) is a type of yellow journalism or propaganda that consists of deliberate disinformation or hoaxes spread via traditional news media (print and broadcast) or online social media.” On the internet, fake news spreads like wildfire and to be most effective, fake news needs to be spread through social media to reach receptive audiences.

Our take on this is please don’t believe everything you read on the internet just because it is on the internet and seems believable or there’s a picture to it, sometimes ask yourself logical question why this news?

This post is to bring your attention to false and fake news in circulation released by private bloggers on several occasions dated; 14th day of August, 2019 and the 13th day of October, 2019 stating that “PROF. WORUGJI AND PROF. UHUKA DEMOTED OR REDEPLOYED TO THE INSTITUTE OF AFRICAN AND ASIAN STUDIES, UNICAL” on https://unicalstory..com/2019/08/

My question is do you believe this?

If you do why believe same?

Sometime last year a decent and upright man (Prof. Emeka Uhuka) was accused by some of his colleagues in the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar over his qualification as a Professor of law and a petition was written against him. He was thereafter invited by the Academic Fraud Investigation Committee of the University of Calabar to defend himself which he did and was duly discharged but the story was leaked by the present dean of Faculty of law (Prof. Michael P. Okom) who saw Prof. Uhuka as a threat to him actualizing his ambition of becoming a Dean in the Faculty of Law. The Academic Fraud Investigation Committee of the University of Calabar later discovered that Prof. Michael P. Okom leaked this information online in a bid to tarnish the image of Prof. Emeka Uhuka and obstruct the ongoing investigation by the committee which should have been confidential. As a result a query was issued against Prof. Okom to cause a retraction and public apology. Copies of the letter from the Academic Fraud Investigation Committee of the University of Calabar and Prof. Okom retraction can be seen below:
[img][/img][img][/img]

Prof. Emeka Uhuka is a professor of Law specialized in Jurisprudence, International Law, Criminology, International Criminal Law; International Tax & Financial Services; Anti-Money Laundering & Combating of Terrorist Financing; Anti- Corruption; Offshore Financial Services and Forensic Law. This can be verified by the official university of calabar website: https://www.unical.edu.ng/staff/user/profile-emekauhuka
[img][/img]

Prof. Uhuka was employed by the University of Calabar as a PROFESSOR OF LAW to boost their chances of securing full accreditation, as well to teach the Post Graduate and Undergraduate students in the Faculty of Law University of Calabar because of the faculty fell short of Professors at the time of his appointment. The University of Calabar had interviewed and evaluated the credentials and qualifications of Prof. Uhuka before the he was employed as a Professor of Law in 2017. As at 2017 there was only one Professor of law in the person of Prof. Isreal N. E. Worugji. It is already publicly known that Prof. Cyril Ndifon was under suspension over allegation of rape, so Professor Uhuka became the second Professor in the faculty of law.

Prof. Uhuka played a vital and reviving role in the area of teaching and learning, and also in the area of the Faculty of Law gaining its full accreditation status. Professor Emeka Uhuka is one of the academic staffs in the University of Calabar that was cleared by the University of Calabar Quality Assurance Unit for not involving in any form of results and examination answer booklet misconduct in 2018. Based on this, He (Professor Uhuka) was appointed as the Chairman Faculty of Law Disciplinary Committee/ Faculty of Law Quality Assurance Committee respectively. Professor Uhuka is one man we saw to had believed in quality and equality, he maintained a social balance between students and staff through his open door policy in all aspect. He is a very sincere, decent and respected man, a man who had students’ progress in his heart. His charisma indeed made students and academic staffs see and take him as their role model and mentor whom they confide on to express their challenges faced in the academic learning world.

In 2019, Prof Uhuka’s passion for fight against corruption and research earned him membership of the Association of Certified Crime Specialists, Senior Research Fellow, International Association of Research Scholars, ‘Chartered Economist’ and Fellow Global Academy of Finance and Management, USA.

Staff and students of the faculty of law, University of Calabar can testify that Prof Uhuka remains the ‘best brain’ to teach Jurisprudence at undergraduate and post graduate levels. No wonder some of the students transferred to other schools to further their studies and some academic staff are hesitant to advance their post graduate studies because of the absence of Prof Uhuka.

It is certainly a surprise to us that some detractors in the same Faculty he had put in so much to gain full accreditation decided to fight him because of fear, yes fear. Prof. Uhuka was projected to become the next substantive Dean of Law by the university management. It was very obvious that he being a non-Indigene of Cross River state and was to pilot the affairs of the Faculty of Law University of Calabar triggered the tribal fight against Professor Uhuka, causing them to exhibit nepotism, myopic, unlearned and primordial dirty attitude toward this innocent man. This is unfair and unacceptable by this noble group whose function is to investigate and establish nothing but the truth to the world.

Hell was let loose when Prof Uhuka rejected several attempts for him to join the cultic world. In one of the faculty board meetings, Prof Uhuka emphasized the need for research in the faculty and extended true hands of assistance for overseas sabbatical and research studies. The attitude and reaction of some of the senior academic staff portrayed them to be “local champions” who didn’t need external studies or competition for promotion and recognition. In view of that, the “ghost” petition writers led by some of the faculty professors summoned several meetings in one of the professor’s office and outside the school to plot ways of humiliating Prof Uhuka. What they didn’t realize was that some of the meetings were audio and video taped for evidence purposes. Some of the current and former law students who attended the meetings and are now called to bar can stand their ground to testify if need be.

Therefore, we the concerned staff and students of the University of Calabar wish to discredit the petition against Professor Emeka Uhuka by the cowardice and lazy detractors in the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar. We hereby urge members of the public to disregard such character assassination in the name of petition and any other form of write up against this man on any private blog.

Let us be guided that the information originated from a private online blogger and not from university of Calabar official website. These fake news are fabricated stories from mischievous persons who are lecturers/Prof. of the faculty of law university of Calabar with the aim to tarnish the image of Prof. Worugji and Prof. Uhuka.

The next question will be why posting something false about your own colleague?

Three answers comes to my mind namely, jealousy, hatred or envy.

We also wish to inform the general public that the news is entirely false and the University Management had never demoted or redeployed any lecturer from the faculty of law Unical including Prof. Worugji or Prof. Uhuka.

The official website of the University of Calabar remains: www.unical.edu.ng and any information circulated about this institution by private bloggers are false and should be regarded as fake news.

Thanks for reading,

SERIAL RAPIST!!!
WHY IS PROF. CYRIL NDIFON STILL IN THE FACULTY OF LAW, UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR?

The academic fraud in the faculty of Law all began when Mr Cyril Ndifon (now Prof. Ndifon) was employed as a university lecturer. Here was a doubtful character who was thrown out of the faculty of law as a student on academic grounds; who later returned to be employed as a lecturer in the same faculty after some years of unaccounted absence.
One wonders what such a character would wish the faculty that threw him out as an academic slowpoke. Definitely Crisis. If you are in doubt ask any psychologist and they will tell you better about the inward aggression and the associated crisis. He meandered to become a professor and subsequently the Dean of the faculty on primordial considerations. Ask the students in the faculty about his character.

No female student enters his office without being sexually assaulted, including his own blood relations and some female staffs in some cases. They say he is under a curse from his home (it all began when he raped a young girl and denied same, the young innocent girl out of anger placed a curse on him..., a story for another day).
But the Lord God Almighty disgraced him out of office 4 years ago when he raped a female law student to a state of unconsciousness in his office: you can read the full story about the rape case by clicking on here or by visiting: https://dailypost.ng/2015/09/11/unical-suspends-dean-of-law-prof-ndifon-over-alleged-rape-of-student/amp/

The law students and some lecturers; including some members of the faculty alumni on affidavit declared him a SERIAL RAPIST AND A MERCENARY in the faculty of Law and demanded for his prosecution. Yet he was returned to the faculty without Justice to the victim and to the public; to continue his professional immoral activities. He claimed the police cleared him. But he is yet to be cleared in the Court of Morals. Can a man who has no good character and good moral standards be a lecturer? The answer is quite obvious. NO...!!!

Since his return, he has repeatedly raped, sexually assaulted or molested female law students in the faculty of law with a high level of impunity, even bragging about his escapade (the rape episode) in the past and the fact that he is now untouchable. The fact remains that most female law students who have been sexually harassed by him are either too scared to report him or are timid because they want to graduate peacefully. The recent event was about a month ago when he made another attempt to rape a final year Law student of the Faculty of law and threatened her to strip naked or fail his course (Jurisprudence). Unknowingly, this female law student who resisted him and was smart enough to have recorded on her smartphone a conversation where he (Prof. Ndifon) threatened her to strip naked or risk failing his course. (For those of you reading this story, Jurisprudence is a compulsory course which every law student must pass in order to graduate from the faculty of Law) The same female law student approached the Dean of the faculty of law (one Professor Okom) to report the sad incident to him, unfortunately, the Dean who is a well known Clergyman, a close associate and disciple of Prof. Ndifon confiscated her smartphone and even threatened the student not to speak of it outside his office unless she wouldn’t graduate. This innocent girl and many others have become too scared of this man, who they describe as an evil man, and his followers who claim they are bishops, elders in churches support his demonic activities.

The university degree is awarded based on good CHARACTER AND LEARNING. Hence one without character has no place in the university business.
Unical should ask OAU, UniIlorin and AAU Ekpoma what happened to such professors in their universities. They were All shown the way out of the university. WHY is Unical still keeping Prof Cyril Osim Ndifon, a SERIAL RAPIST and a well known mercenary as a professor in the faculty? Is this fair to the system...?

Unical should ask OAU, UniIlorin and AAU Ekpoma what happened to such professors in their universities. They were All shown the way out of the university. WHY is Unical still keeping Prof Cyril Osim Ndifon, a SERIAL RAPIST and a well known mercenary as a professor in the faculty? Is this fair to the system...?

Education / Re: Sex For Grades: Boniface Igbeneghu Of UNILAG Exposed In BBC Documentary (Pics) by ebassey759: 9:10pm On Oct 08, 2019

Nairaland / General / Re: Unical, Faculty Of Law Academic Fraud: Professor Demoted To Graduate Assistant, by ebassey759: 11:26pm On Aug 21, 2019

In 2010 he rose through to the ranks and became a Professor of Law after obtaining Doctor of Philosophy( PhD) degree in African Law from the University of Ibadan in 2010. It is quite a pity that this level of senseless and ignorance can be exhibited by persons who claim to be in academics (Prof. Ndifon and his cohorts).
As you can see Prof. Worugji's academic qualifications are very clear; BA(Hons) Law, Master of Laws( LLM), BL for the Nigerian Bar, Doctor of Philosophy PhD in African Law. But the detractors are not telling the world that the institutions where he obtained his certificates have disclaimed him in any way nor are his qualifications not relevant to his scholarship as a Law Professor. All they say is Worugji is very powerful and influential.
IF YOU DOUBT THE ABOVE BIO THEN I URGE YOU TO DIRECTLY CONTACT Mr. Essien Essien Udom, SAN or Mr. Uko Essien Udom, SAN they are Principal Partners of UDOM AND UDOM (LEGAL PRACTITIONERS) a law Firm with offices Uyo and Lagos state. You can also view their QUALIFICATIONS by clicking HERE
As you can see these are very respectable Senior Advocates of Nigeria. They were classmates with Professor Worugji at the Manchester Polytechnic (1979-1982) where they all obtained a BA(Hons) Law. Today they are SAN. So let the ignorant continue in their fooleries.
Thanks for taking your time to read through, and I will end by adding that "a stupid person is someone who knowing the truth, seeing the truth, still believing the lies..." ― A wise man.
