Guys like the one you replied to don’t think far enough to realize that the US’s debt to China and every other country is written in dollars. Technically, the treasury could pull a Mugabe and print a few trillion dollar bills, pay off all the debt, and tank the entire world’s economy. They yap about Brics and countries not using the dollar because they’re too daft to know how brainless they sound. They also don’t think long enough to see that the amount of remittances going to Nigeria in dollars is more than Nigeria’s yearly budget—they don’t think it would effect their country.
