I'm aware Nigeria is a very unlikely destination for Apple products. However, if you ever have a change of mind and opt for the new Mac Mini, you should know that the RAM is soldered to the board and the mother board is practically inaccessible. Here is an audio recording by investigative reporter Nicholas Ibekwe who was among the reporters sent to cover the synagogue church building that collapsed last week. According to him, and as heard on the audio, TB Joshua coaches the reporters on how to frame the news story after he had told them they would each be getting N50,000. Nicholas Ibekwe says he was the only journalist who turned down the bribe while all the others in the meeting took the money. So you can imagine that most of the news reports you have read/ heard/ watched about the incident has been tainted by blood money, and spun to suit the tastes of TB Joshua. That Nigerian journalists collect “transport money” or “brown envelope” at press conferences and events is not hidden, I’ve had to turn away or give in to some of their requests myself. But that they would do it over the deaths of almost 100 people? Nicholas has been tweeting and wondering why the Prophet has not been prosecuted, but instead he has been getting condolence visitations from important personalities including the president himself. He later tweeted this evening that some people have been calling his friends and family members to ask him to stop, but he won’t be stopping any moment from now, except they stop him. - See audio at news source: http://www.nairatrain.com/blogs/post/1924#sthash.MxumpuuH.dpuf |

On Facebook, some scams are so alluring that they seem to live forever. So it goes with “Facebook Color Changer,” a new malware attack that masquerades as a way to change the appearance of Facebook’s Website. Security firm Cheetah Mobile claims that the latest scam has affected more than 10,000 people around the world. Don’t Fall For This. According to Cheetah Mobile, the app advertises the ability to “select your favourite color scheme for facebook layout,” and appears to direct users to “apps.facebook.com/themsandcolors.” But instead, the app sends users to a phishing site. Once there, the site asks users to view a tutorial video. Launching the video supposedly provides temporary access to the user’s Access Tokens, letting the malicious site connect to the user’s Facebook friends. If the user doesn’t view the video, the site then attempts to download a pornographic video player on PCs or a bogus malware scanner on Android devices. Cheetah Mobile blames a “a vulnerability that lives in Facebook’s app page itself, allowing hackers to implant viruses and malicious code into Facebook-based applications directs users to phishing sites.” As Mashable points out, color-changing capabilities have been a popular hook for Facebook malware peddlers in the past. At least two previous scams have gained traction by inviting users to switch the color of Facebook’s blue menu bar. The color changer joins a number of other recurring scams that pose as oft-requested features, including the fabled ”dislike” button and ability to see who viewed your profile. What If You Need A Real Facebook Color Changer? There is a legitimate way to change the color of Facebook’s menu bar, using an extension in the Chrome Web Store, but in general it’s best to treat these “feature enhancements” with extreme caution. Just because a friend posts a link your feed doesn’t mean it’s safe to click. Source |

Towards the tail end of last month, Airtel busted out with a new data plan. This time, a plan specially dedicated to Android and smartphone devices. While the prices may seem a bit harsh compared to that of Blackberry devices, there are a lot of positives to be drawn from the new invention. It is no longer a secret that official Airtel Blackberry plans now fully works on other devices including Android devices. With the recent introduction of the Android internet data plans at the dead end of July, the position of Blackberry 2+1 packages among Aitel users is threatened. However, few are yet to find a reason to ditch their fair internet plan for a more expensive plan. - Well, let's find you a reason. We are not going to make this yet another dumb Android vs Blackberry comparison, rather, you can see this as EwtNet's way of bringing your attention to the distinctive features of the new Airtel's Android data plan. Behold, All You Android Lovers For most Nigerians, Android is the new Tecno which for many represent intense data consumption. The new Airtel Android plans are specially design to suit this purpose. The bundle gives you an option to choose either the 2GB or 4.5GB worth N2,000 and N3,500 respectively. Of course, you can argue that Blackberry 2+1 packages offers better but here is the thing, Blackberry 2+1 plans if used on Blackberry devices goes on 1 kobo/kb but on other devices the charges rates up to 5 kobo/kb, which is why your data depletion will often run faster on Android devices when you subscribe to the Blackberry 2+1 packages. How The New Android Plans Rate A lot of Android users will find the new Android plans feasible for many reasons but mainly because of the rate at which their data burns down. For a standard user, your bandwidth depletes at the rate of 1.5 kobo/kb but if you found yourself using the internet more in the night, you are likely to find your data depletion rate at 1 kobo/kb from 9:59pm - 5:59am. What Options Do We Have On Dongle? If you are accessing the web through a dongle or internet modem and the *440*161# thing works for your then I 'd say "Who needs Android plans?" but if you are not eligible for Airtel Blackberry 2+1 offers then I advice you stick with any of the Android data plans. For subscription codes and data description see Airtel Android data plans table Source |
Airtel has also added 'Android Internet Plan' which I think is equally good for both smartphone and dongle users. |

ebenzunlim: This is a little bit off topic... But is your etisalat tab running on Android OS?If this is not lock to a particular network, the OS can easily be updated. |
Android and it's nickname 'Tecno' has arguably taken over the smartphone market in Nigeria. Hence, it comes as no surprise that every tom, dick and harry now own one. Though Android can brag of having the highest third-party developers in mobile technology, not all of this third party apps can be installed on that hand-help device you carry around. In fact, as a measure intended to shield your Android device from malwares synonymous with most third-party applications, the OS does not accept application unapproved by Google (unapproved applications may be installed but will not work correctly on non-rooted Android devices). Without saying much let me quickly brief you on what rooting is all about. Rooting (or jailbreaking) your Android device gives you unimaginable control over your device, letting you have master control on how your device functions; update the OS, replace the firmware, overclock (or underclock) the processor, customize just about anything. Basically, rooting your android device makes you the real owner of it! In the past rooting might be an easy "nut to crack" for Mr. tom, Mr. dick, but certainly not for Mr. harry. The process was generally complicated and you might just end up in the 'bricked' zone with one miscalculated move. In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to root/jailbreak any Android phone with just 1 click (or maybe 2). Let's do something basic Well, I have already uploaded the 1 Click magic on the tutorial page, but before proceeding make sure you have the following items: - A healthy Windows PC (Windows XP, 7, 8 or higher). - You must have Kingo Android Root software installed in your PC. If you don't have the software, you can download a copy here. - Your device must be properly charged. Tutorial page: http://www.ewtnet.com/2013/12/discover-3-steps-to-root-any-android.html If you faced any problem following the steps on the tutorial page, feel free to leave a comment on this page. |

Just for the ease of some you who are yet to be acquainted with latest Airtel data subscription table. Here is a jumpstart to start enjoying the new data plan. Best Practice Of course, you can always dial *141*13*1# to quickly test if you can access the internet with your current SIM before subscribing to a data plan. This service is completely free and you are offered 1MB per day for dialing the code. Outside knowing the connectivity status of the SIM, it is also important to know which plan works best with your device and the code to dial if you need to switch to another plan. It is not often that someone tells you (with full assurance) what to do, but in this post we are looking to advice you on what plan is best for your mobile, smartphone, tablet or PC device. In our next edition we will talk about the complete table for Blackberry data subscription. Mobile Phone: If you accessing the internet through a mobile phone browser, subscribe to any of the following plans: Entry, Daily, 3-day, Weekly, Easy, 786-plan, Lite or Midi plans Smartphone & Tablets: With Tecno taking over the Nigeria smartphone market, every folk within the country can boast of having a smartphone. However, it is one thing to own a smartphone and another thing to subscribe to a feasible plan. Any of: Smartphone1, Smartphone2, Plus or Max plans will work just fine on your smartphone or tablet. If you have the Opera browser installed on your mobile, smartphone or tablet, you can also use the Opera Mini Bundle for only N300 per month. Dongles/MiFi/Routers: If you just purchased a Dongle or USB Modem as we generally call it and need to start using it on your PC/Mac or Router. Depending on the scale of the task at hand, you can choose from any of the following plan: Smartphone1, Smartphone2, Plus, Max, Premium or Prime plans (See how to unlock your USB Modem and make it universal). The Blackberry Unlimited data plan also works on Dongles, though charges and experience may vary. Bloggers & Developers: If you are a blogger or web developer, it is best to go with the Prime plan, but if you have a very restricted budget, you might consider going with: Day, Night Time or Weekend plans which are suited for subscribers who require data use for specific purposes and consume such data quickly. For activation codes table click here or visit: http://www.ewtnet.com/2014/07/new-airtel-data-subscription-table-best.html |
