Beware of pickup from Lagos Island, esp around the market. Those CBD guys go use you shine If you must, ask the person to meet at Oando marina (now NNPC). The person has to be there before you arrive cos even the boys at the station fit give you wahala. If you sense any issue, you better cancel Very importantly, many requests from the market na to carry load. I will ask, if yes I cancel jeje Eazilyfe: That LAGOS ISLAND and Idumota area suppose be big hubs wey Ehailing suppose dey see better trips... but law enforcement and bad street planning no make am possible... na only Novice go gree carry you go or come LAGOS ISLAND |

Car Talk › Ride Hailing Drivers Shut Down Operations Over Low Fares by ebiye55(op): 8:11am On Mar 16 |
App-based drivers in Lagos and Ogun states, under the umbrella of the Amalgamated Union of App-Based Transporters of Nigeria, have shut down ride-hailing services over alleged low fares and rising operational costs.
In a notice issued to drivers, partners and fleet owners and signed by the union’s secretary, Comrade Yusuf Bamidele, on Sunday, the shutdown is expected to run from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Monday.
The union also urged members to log out of all ride-hailing platforms during the period and refrain from accepting or completing trips.
Drivers were further encouraged to ask their colleagues to participate in solidarity while ensuring the action remains peaceful, disciplined and professional.
According to the union, the shutdown is aimed at drawing attention to several challenges confronting app-based drivers across the country.
“This is to formally remind all app-based drivers, driver partners and fleet owners of the mega shutdown scheduled to take place on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
“This coordinated action is organised by the Amalgamated Union of App-Based Transporters of Nigeria as part of a collective effort to address pressing issues affecting the welfare and sustainability of app-based transport operations. https://punchng.com/ride-hailing-drivers-shut-down-operations-over-low-fares/Read more on this thread https://www.nairaland.com/2653841/uber-partner-lagos-please-share/6216

Indrive abracadabra Shimmaa: Am I the only 1 that gets angry whenever I see someone ordering a ride for 6k for more than 20mins, & no 1 is bidding for the ride then you now decides to increase it, and you added 100naira to it and waited for another 20mins+ without someone bidding for it then after, you now made same request with another account only for you to now reduce the fare further to 5k.
This thing dey too vex me. |

I have selected up to 22 trips Quest & completed them several times You need to start as early as 6 or 7am Where you start the day matters (very important). Accepting trips not more than N3999 will help you keep good driving hours VI/Ikoyi/Lekki has sweet short trips esp from 4pm to 7pm NB: I have not paid Uber any commission this year, na cash out I dey cash out almost every Monday It works for me Eazilyfe: Do you complete atleast 11 trips daily? because mehn sometimes i just pick the lowest of the quest and try to complete it.
Especially last saturday when i almost missed last trip & reward because i had driven 12hrs+ before i caught last trip. Glad the Lady didnt cancel while i was dropping the prev rider off |

DEGREE2466: What these app companies do is to come and enter the market with fair policies to attract drivers. Once they've had enough drivers, every staff meeting they have is on how to frustrate drivers.
Indrive has increased their commission, takes your money whether the trip happened or not, always side riders and blocks drivers arbitrarily. if na only me remain, Indrive for don close business. From their shitty fares to entitled riders demanding for AC ontop shitty fare Omo, una dey try o I only use Indrive to come out of dry areas What's their % commission now abeg? |

let me add small capetownboyz Avoid long pickups. esp on Uber (most riders are impatient and will cancel) Ask rider for directions if unsure (but be careful) Experience is a good teacher, esp with positioning & how you start ur day SHOOPSYN: Boss, learn to buy fuel right, get fuel only at confirmed stations (mrs ahmodu, Mobil Agidingbi, Total Gbagada etc. Avoid these locations, Alakija, Amuwo Odofin Orile Iganmu, Ojo Mile2/Apapa Amukoko, Bagadry Oko Agbon Igbo Elerin Okokomaiko Ifelodun Ajeromi Shigbiri Oko afo etc. If you miss road or bridge, you will certainly find your way out, no matter what. Lagos route is very interesting. Facing traffic, burning fuel or losing few bucks is better than been at the mercy of the vampire law enforcers, no revers on highway oo, no mind riders advising you to quickly use one way. Any issue with police, always sort it on the road, no drive go their den. Don't do offline deliveries. Don't go inside any warehouse or store to collect delivery on behalf of rider, or using code on their behalf. Na smartness and luck, especially this period, no be hardwok. Is not about number of trip you did daily, is about number of goodfair trip you did. Becareful of one way, especially around Shomolu, if you are sensitive, something will tell you, you are entering a one way, study the road and car positions. For this period, stay with bolt and Uber, no go drag ride with Glithronix and co oo, you won't get any trip. Minimum fare for this "period" should be 350/400 per km. Divide trip gross by km to have 'idea' because traffic time should also be considered. ALWAYS PARK AT SAFE PLACE... if you need to drive 3km to find safe place, do. Yaba, Ogba, Olowora, etc have more safe places. And if there is traffic to drive to safe places, enter any bank, eatery, find seat, queue up and enjoy AC while looking for another trip DONT PICK UP at airport for any reason. Only drop off and zoom off to Ajao estate. If Jesus stops you to pick Him up, tell Him to come to designated car park. If you have butter face and cool person, you go need Feli001 , small, chinchini touch of agbero vibes and words (not really necessary). Lately, interms of earnings, saturday and sunday is overatted, but they are good days to build confidence. Lastly, have exiting plans, either long, medium or short, plan na plan. I wish you best of God. |

There are not enough messages to write about this. As a driver you need to take care of yourself/health - Eat well, give yourself a treat once in a while - Take out time to rest.
