[quote author=happytbaby post=44720326]People need to be smart about certain things. And seriously I don't know why people will see things here and still buy ticket to Houston or Chicago, even if you have bought it the money to change the ticket will not kill us o. I am happy for the people that have shared graceful POE stories from these two places but I think its better not to tempt fate. Abeg fly to JFK biko even if na Arik you go fly and then find your way to anywhere you wan go in the country.

Below is a list of the things i carried on my first missionary journey (am not sure if i will remember everything) to serve as guidance for the kind of preparation we need to make so that people will not laugh at us and say 'who send her to go born for america before? People no dey born here?'

hmmmm....God will continue to help us! In my case I went with my burden of proof almost all u listed but the CBP wasn't interested in taking a look, she didn't even count d money...she didn't look at anything! What if one comes across that kinda CBP officer who is hellbent on sending someone back? Scary!

So quick update to the house.
Flew BA to Houston on the 12th of April @34 weeks.transit in heathrow.d flight to Houston was loooooong.

Fit to fly was only asked for at MMA.
Fast forward to POE.
The queue was long...when it finally got to our turn (myself, hubby and son)
Cbp: good afternoon...with a smile to my son. Such a handsome boy
What brings u to Houston?
Hubby:vacation and the birth of our second baby
Cbp: looks at my son , but u didn't have ur first here why having the second one?
Me : for better health care because my first delivery was traumatic
Cbp : oh sorry to hear that...but he looks okay
Me : yes he's okay but didn't wanna repeat the experience
Cbp: ok u have money with u?
Me: yes I have $9k do u want to count? Stretching the money to her
Cbp: no that's ok.
Ur staying for how long?
Me : 10weeks
Stamps me in for 6 months.
Please note that u can't accept any form of govt aid.
Hubby n I nod. No documents were asked or checked I proceeded to agric. One yeye dog came to sniff my bag it was checked, it had my ogbono n egusi, nothing was seized though my indomie, pap, iru etc all scaled thru now going to rest. I'm totally knackered...but thanking God for the favor all the way. It's my first time n I wasn't expecting it to be so easy
