I am Abakaliki and I fight Biafra because of the stigmatization and insults heaped on Abakaliki people that they are backward, wayward, not true Igbos, timid, et cetera.

The hate speech is real against us. When my sisters who are very beautiful was seen by one of them, they said you can’t be this beautiful, Abakaliki people are usually primitive, timid and not this beautiful or exposed.


So they are tribalistic against us socially. And it despises me and I don’t want to be part of that. Our ex governor faced that as well and he said it in the news. The hatred against Abakaliki people by igbo people is real and practised mainly by Anambra then to a smaller degree by other Igbo people.

They say we are primitive, timid, not pure Igbos, backward, wretched, and only good for househelps or hawking biscuit in highway.

In my place of work they prefer non-Indigene to hold top position than Abakaliki man despite the institution being in Abakaliki land.

Same reason they want to install their own in Lagos whereas Yorubas are there.
