PoliticsRe: Sunday Igboho Says He Is A Christian Who Uses Charms, Sparks Fresh Debate by edcas(m): 11:02pm On Mar 01
lawani:
Jesus was a magician or where do you draw the line between magic and miracle and which spiritual power is not from God? All spiritual power are from God
Unfortunately, Jesus is a miracle worker, not a magician. You cannot associate God with magic.

T9ksy:
So when Jesus turned water into wine, was that not charm? Abi when Jesu feed multitude of people with one loaf of bread
and fivr fishes, was that not charm?

Whatever, Igboho does or did, he will always call on the name of his God, known to him (and all yorubas), as "Olodumare".
Jesus had no meaning in yoruba language. Xtianity is a foreign religion, same as Islam. Our forfathers were worshipping their God before these interlopers came with their own God to exploit us.
Jesus never used any form of magical powers or charms to perform miracles. The turning of water into wine, feeding the multitude with five loafs of bread and two fishes, or any other miracle was made possible by the divine power that is Him (Jesus). Let it be known to you that no magical power or charm can withstand the power of Jesus, because the power and authority in Jesus can silence any magical power or charm. The Bible says, "At the mention of the name of Jesus, ...... every knee must bow" (Phil. 2:10-11). Jesus Himself said, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me" (Matthew 28:18).

Christianity may be seen as a foreign religion, but the gospel of Jesus Christ is not foreign to any culture because Jesus Himself commanded that this gospel be preached to the uttermost part of the earth (cf Acts 1:cool. So if you want to be a Christian, be careful to follow His teachings, and avoid any practice that is not in alignment or agreement with the teachings of Jesus.

Let it be understood that being born in a Christian community or even inside the church or being given a Christian name does not make you a Christian. You may only claim to be a Christian if your only proof is on the afore mentioned parameters.

To be a Christian is quite far from answering a Christian name, going to church, or living in a Christian community. To be a Christian is "being like Christ" or "living the way Christ lived." Interestingly, the word "Christian" was first mentioned about AD 40-43 when the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch because of the similitude of their lifestyle and conduct with that of Jesus (Acts 11:26). So to be a Christian simply means that you a "follower of Christ." A real Christian demonstrates his or her belief by living the way Christ lived—doing what Christ did and avoiding what Christ avoided. A Christian will follow Christ and work at patterning his/her life after His life. That is why you need the second birth, that is, being "Born Again."

Christian practice and the practise of magical powers or charms are not, and cannot be the same. It will be a misnomer for someone to say he is a Christian who uses charms, because biblically, this is called syncretism.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:24, "No man can serve two masters.”

]You cannot serve:

Jesus and charms

The Holy Spirit and talismans

The Cross and occult rituals

The final truth is that a Christian does not need charms. As a Christian, you have the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, the Holy Spirit. and the Word of God. These are more powerful than any charm ever created.

So brother, if you want to be a Christian, you need to repent and forsake those charms.

An imaginary God/Jesus will always need people to be defending its existence.
You call God imaginary yet you enjoy all His divine providences. The existence of God is not debatable, neither that of Jesus. As a matter of fact, God’s existence is not an opinion — it is a reality. Even if you choose to debate, please note that "Debate does not cancel existence."

You can debate gravity — but jump from a building and see if it works.

God is not an object inside creation to be tested in a laboratory.
He is the Creator of the laboratory.

He is not part of the universe.
He is the reason the universe exists.

The greatest proof of God is not philosophical.

It is transformational.

Look at lives changed by Christ.
Look at addicts delivered.
Look at broken hearts restored.
Look at sinners made saints.

A dead God cannot change lives.

The Bible says in Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." Also in Romans 1:19-20 “They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God,”

God’s existence is not debatable — It is undeniable.

I join my faith with yours and pray for your healing and recovery from this illness. It may be called "Terminal Illness," but the power in the name of Jesus can terminate this cancer and set you free. It would be a glorious testimony that you survived this illness. Receive your healing in Jesus' name. Amen.
