Autos / Re: How I Gave Almost 2million To U.KLASS Autos and No Car Delivered For over A Year by Edex2020: 12:54am On Jan 13, 2021
Hello everybody the Car in question was butchered by the logistic company in charge in Germany Because the client „Mr seun“ Changed his mind after the Truck was purchased for almost 2m, we tried our best to look for a buyer in Germany since the shipping cost to Nigeria wouldn’t come in from the client anymore, but due to the Pandemic, multiple lockdowns throughout the year in Germany and the general economic condition we couldn’t find much buyers for the Truck and the logistic company didn’t make things easier they refused to give us access to their compound for inspections, now the car has been disposed by the logistic company and @U.Klass Autos had to carry the whole cost, as a result we are now filed for a court case here in Germany and generally everybody who was involved in this deal including myself as the Germany contact (who bought and forwarded the car to the shipping company) lost a lot, but that is how business can be sometimes and I honestly think U.Klass is doing a great job by making a refund to the client in question(despite difficulties). Kind regards from Germany and pls Stay safe Covid is real

Ps I attached the receipt / buying contract as a picture as evidence that the car in question was actually purchased.

To be fair, OP was clear that he doesn't really know anything about it.

The rule of thumb with engine swaps is: If you have to ask on a public forum about it, it's way out of your hands and you shouldn't waste your time.

Those who know what it entails don't go about asking on Nairaland about how viable a swap is or what options they have.

What is a better way to gain knowledge in this kind of issue in your opnion ? I think everybody has to start someday and it's a two way thing either you ask or stay dumb.

Op.
M104 is your best bet.
M112 will also fit.
You need a Mercedes electrician for ECU swap.
All depends on your location.
If Lagos... Oluwaseunla is your best bet not gazzuzz. Ikenna351 should not be mentioned in a real spanner wrenching.
We are here to guide you through...

G230 or G270? Post the chassis number

Thank you, you're the only one with a reasonable contribution, i prefare to ask and learn i could've gone straight to fix a M104 because i know it would work but why not consider other options and seek advice from people who have done this perticular swap ?

It's 230 i checked the Vin, Thanks again

Car Talk / Re: Has Anyone Captured For Drivers License In Recent Times. by Edex2020: 12:28pm On Dec 11, 2020
Yeyenairaland:
Please my people

This is my first post on Nairaland despite being here for almost a decade. I don't even know if I'm posting section but mods try push am go front page anyway grin grin grin

I went to process my driver's license since 30th of September at ajah Lagos State and I was asked to come back in the next 6 weeks.
Brethren, I have called them more than three times and they keep telling me it has not gotten to my set for capture and that those that did theirs since August are yet to capture.

Please I want to know if anyone here has done a thing of that nature in recent times and how long it lasted or if you have captured for yours.

P.S. The man told me when I went there last week, that they're doing upgrade from headquarters and that's why it's taking this long.

The have issues Right now my brothers licence took 2 months but it's out now, he collected it yesterday

Story story

I apreciate if you guys can post answers in my thread

https://www.nairaland.com/6307465/g-wagon-restoration-car-guru

I recently bought a W640 G230 Mercedes benz, unfortunately the car was vandalized by the previous owner who installed a mb M111 (C class 4cylinder engine in the car) oviosly the engine has no power to pull this car, i am a lover of vintage cars and i want to restore this car, the interior of the car is destroyed so i will fix a custom dashboard and center console,so i am flexible in terms of The Instrument Clauster.

I'll do body work, upholstery and painting after the mechanical part

I was told by some kazeems to install a nissan patrol engine so that the 4 wheel drive option will be restored unto the car for me it's not an option ( i searched the internet) and some people have successfully done that swap but its a cabŕeuttor eingine and that's a no no for me

So i searched further and i saw a build with a Toyota Jz1 in Indonesia mad fast and looked very good i don't know how realistic that kind of swap is in Nigeria.

I have a friend in SA who put a Mitsubishi engine in his G, he doesn't know much about cars so he couldn't tell me very much about how it was done but again i have heared of keke engine inside camery and i don't want that kind of something

Last but not least i was considering a M104 ( from a S class) the issue is still that this were rear wheel drives as far as i know so i don't know how well that will drive and look? Also the transmittion inside the car will also work with this engine, i guess? Since the M104 is like a 6 cylinder version of the M111?

Is there any way i can get ECU,OBD and co to work? Probably not but may be atleast the check engine, oil and other lamps

IKENNA / GAZZUZZ AND CO ABEG COME AND HELP A BROTHER

disclaimer: i am a car dealer but i don't have any kind of training as a mechanic or anything automotive related just the little exprience I've gathered my young life, so please speak english i can understand lol.
