FINAL PART:DIARY OF A LOVER BOY


Kate was laying on the bed,her face was swollen and her eyes filled with tears. She was in the company of three of her friends. They had come way back since during the time they were all seeking admission. The four knew each other well and nothing was a secret admits the four. Kate was struggling with the dilemma of opening up to funsho or not about her HIV status

before things got more complicated.
Funsho had began to introduce kate to most of His family members and had been planning travelling to visit kates family at her home town.
The most advice she got was opening up to him and making him understand she had a very dark past but she had done away with it and was a totally changed person now and if he was sure he loved her,he would continue in the relationship. Although kate was using her Anti-retroviral drug steadily but would any sane man go into a relationship with an HIV positive woman especially in a society like ours, she continually thought to herself. Her worst fear was Funsho leaving her
Funsho came visiting in the evening and noticed she looked miserably and asked what was wrong. Unhesitatingly,she knelt down and narrated her ordeal. Funsho couldn't control his anger at her making him go that far with her without making him know what he was going into.
The pain of being betrayed by the woman he planned to spend the rest of his life with superseded his love for kate .Out of anger and frustration,he barged out of her apartment not even taking a second look at her .
Kate couldn't do anything to stop him as she knew she deserved the treatment she got from him. She couldn't stop stop thinking about her life and the series of mistakes she had made. She hadn't even told him of her inability to bear children. She knew she had been living a lie and no man could settle for her. She went to her kitchen,picked up a knife and stabbed herself.
Funsho on his way home was bothered and felt had so he drove back to Kate's to talk it out. She meant more to him than HIV.

Friday evenings comes bliss and and an atmosphere of relaxation. Students go home with the mind of playing all weekend long, Workers leave work thinking of how they are going to spend their weekend relaxing and eating well. Some spend Friday nights hanging with friends at the club or maybe a weekend event.
Funsho had planned a romantic dinner
for Kate, the "just the two us" cuisine type. He planned to make the BIG move in the middle of dinner. They had been dating for 15 months now. Funsho was promoted at work and he had been given a company ride and a big raise.
So far,the relationship had been blissful with nothing but show of affection from the duo.

About kate, she owned a beauty salon and had her own spa .setting up wasn't much of a struggle for her because she had a lot of capital to set up. She left work early enough to go back home and get dressed before Funsho came to pick her up.

They had began to talk and drink wine when Kate received the food menu from the waiter and in it was a card saying,"would you marry me". Funsho had brought out the ring case from the back of his pocket just waiting anxiously for her to open yhe menu but reluctant to open,she gave it back to the waiter demanding to take whatever funsho was taking. Was funsho's big move spoiled?
The waiter playfully gave it back to her and cajoled her to at least see what the cuisine had to offer. Then,she saw the proposal and was dumfounded,able to do nothing but open her mouth and smile. Funsho immediately Went on one knee to propose. She shouted "Yes" multiple times even though in her proper mind she couldn't figure where the answer was coming from. The couple curdled and kissed and everyone in the cuisine clapped and took several pictures of the two.
Going home that night, Funsho and Kate were both filled with joy but on getting home,the story changed..

Coming back from work that day,he highlighted at under bridge and walked down to the express way where he would take a another bus to dopemu. He rushed in as the bus stopped in front of him .In the bus,he sat next to a lady. light skinned,classy and you could sense she was coming from her work place. As she asked the conductor for her change,her accent
was dazing.
Funsho was 25 years old. Second born of a family of 5.He was a graduate of management and accounting from unilag. His future was very promising. Back in school,he held the post of departmental president among many other appointments he was a part of. He came out with a very strong Second class upper. Ladies flocked around him in his university days cos he was always bold and outspoken. He had the lines that could make any girl fall at the back of his palm.
Leaving school,he made up his mind to start life on a clean sheet and thus far he has.
He couldn't help but notice the damsel he say by and took a bold step of making a conversation which turned out fun she was a very friendly person. They exchanged names and cell phone numbers. Funsho almost forgot himself on the bus.
A month later,Funsho and Kate has started going on dates and events together. Little did he know what he was entering into.
Kate was 26,second of two children. A Drop out from the university of Benin. She couldn't bear the heat of struggling to raise her G.P from 1.0 to third class.
She did a lot of runz and her uni days were Spent moving
from one man's bed to another. Her clients were Alhajis,chiefs and Yahoo guys. She lost her womb during her 9th abortion a semester before she finally dropped out .leaving school she also decided to start life on a clean sheet but sadly,she found out she was HIV positive soon after.

Kate had began to get emotionally attached and Funsho made his love for her an anthem to her ear every chance he got.
She agreed to the relationship and they began their romantic journey.
