everything is not by emotion, i used to be like you in the past . We have 3 parts in electricity generation. Genco- dams and turbines, TCN- transmission company of Nigeria- govt owned and disco. We don’t have issues with genco. We have surplus. Issues is with tcn and discos. We dont have the infrastructure or resources to consume what we produce. Discos many times reject loads, customers are owning them billions. Taking more load usually ends up in more debt. If we don’t sell what genco produces to those countries it will waste. Those countries also pay in usd which is used to finance purchase of maintainance equipment abroad too . Gentleman agreement can also be in writing na. But to be honest its not enforceable before they are allowed by international law do what they like with their portion of the river
