Lol 🤣.. are you dreaming? You'll be lucky if physiology and anatomy depts agree to take you on? University where I went to.. if you flunk your mbbs twice, youre done, no dept will take you. Not physio not anatomy. Maybe Human Nutrition may pity you.

But MBBS --> Engr lol 🤣 are you high? Even in 100L there are some courses Engr students take that you didn't. So no way.

Just prepare to write another JAMB
.
NIGER DELTA UNIVERSITY do transfer from Medicine to Engineering if one doesn't meet medicine cut off...It has happened several times.

Is it possible to transfer someone that failed MBBS in medicine and surgery year three to engineering programmes like mechanical, civil, chemical, petroleum etc in Nigeria and to be given these engineering fields when medicine and surgery could not be secured due to high cut off marks, if so what are the instances and which universities in Nigeria offer such?
RomanceThe Reasons These Females In Medicine Look Down On Men Outside Medicine by Edpuma(op): 3:11pm On Jan 12, 2025
One reason is the high status and prestige attached to the medical profession in Nigerian society. Medicine is often seen as a symbol of intellectual superiority and success, and medical students, having gone through a rigorous and challenging training process, may develop a sense of pride in their accomplishments. This can lead them to view men in less demanding or less prestigious professions as less accomplished.

Additionally, many female medical students may experience a sense of financial and professional independence that comes with pursuing a career in medicine. As they progress through their studies and become more self-sufficient, they might feel that a partner should match their level of ambition, success, or social standing. This could cause them to dismiss men in other fields who might not meet those expectations.

Cultural and societal pressures in Nigeria also play a role. In a country where women in medical and other high-status professions are still relatively few, there can be an expectation for these women to aspire to relationships that reflect their social and academic standing. As a result, some might feel that dating a man in a different profession, especially one with a lower level of prestige, could be seen as a step backward in terms of their social capital.

Female medical students might feel that men outside the field cannot relate to the intense demands of their education and career, leading to feelings of disconnect. They may prioritize partners who understand their lifestyle and challenges, further reinforcing their preference for those within the medical or similarly demanding professions.

The drive for gender equality and challenging traditional gender roles might also play a part. Some female medical students may feel empowered to reject traditional expectations, where men were once seen as the dominant or more accomplished partner, and thus, they may prefer partners who share their level of ambition and professional focus.

A very insightful and thought-provoking question!

Hypergamy (the tendency to seek a partner of higher social status) and hypogamy (the tendency to seek a partner of lower social status) are not new phenomena. However, it's possible that various factors are contributing to their increased visibility and prevalence, especially among high-achieving individuals like Ivy League doctors and professionals.

Some potential causes:

1. Social media: Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter showcase the highlight reels of others' lives, creating unrealistic expectations and fueling the desire for upward mobility.
2. Changing social norms: The rise of feminism and shifting gender roles have led to increased emphasis on personal achievement and career success. This might contribute to hypergamy, as individuals seek partners who can match or exceed their accomplishments.
3. *Increased focus on self-optimization*: The self-help industry and wellness culture encourage individuals to constantly improve and optimize themselves. This mindset might lead people to seek partners who can help them achieve their goals or enhance their status.
4. Growing economic inequality: The widening wealth gap and increasing economic uncertainty might drive individuals to seek partners with greater financial security or social status.
5. Evolutionary factors: Some researchers argue that hypergamy is an evolutionary adaptation, as women (in particular) seek partners with resources and status to ensure their own survival and the well-being of their offspring.
6. Decreasing emphasis on traditional values: The decline of traditional values like loyalty, commitment, and community might contribute to increased focus on individual achievement and status-seeking in relationships.
7. Increased mobility and connectivity: Greater mobility, online dating, and social media have expanded people's social circles and exposure to potential partners, potentially fueling hypergamy and hypogamy.
8. Pressure to maintain a certain image: High-achieving individuals might feel pressure to maintain a certain image or status, leading them to seek partners who fit a specific mold or enhance their reputation.

It's essential to note that these factors can vary across individuals and contexts. Additionally, not everyone who exhibits hypergamy or hypogamy is motivated by these factors, and many people prioritize other values like love, compatibility, and shared goals in their relationships.
That's just it

CareerWhy Are Career Ladies Having Issues These Days by Edpuma(op): 12:45am On Dec 13, 2024
A young promising business man met a young Lady in her sophomore, he decided to sponsor her through medical school upon which on getting to her 600 level, the young man approached her telling her, he intends to marry her.

Thereafter was the shocker of his life, the lady said she can't marry him as he was below her social status, level or class. She proceeded to marry a doctor.

Even several friends and personal experiences have seen doctors, ivy league doctors and professionals toeing the hypergamy and hypogamy lane when it comes to settling down even with people that used to be very close to them...

What is causing these things lately...

One thing i know is a lot of them are very masculine. I work in a hospital, and the head of nursing from what I know is unmarried. Very bossy n dominant and from the way she adorns herself, if you're a sabi man you'll just know she's a bop. That's how most are.
That's one reality people can shy away from but the truth.

Female doctors to me are the best if you want to be with an intelligent woman. They only go for intelligent men, and there aren’t many around.

I see no problem dating them. I prefer them to ordinary 9ja women.

Intelligent women shouldn’t frighten an intelligent man. You will both compliment each other to form a badass partnership.
Though there are intelligent ladies in diverse careers be it engineering, law, science, business, accounting etc.
The issue is how the ladies in question get extreme at the slightest provocation that erupted in those instances.

This is spot on. But why is it not always the case outside the country? My white colleague's girlfriend is studying medicine at one of the Russell Group schools in the U.K. My colleague is a Logistics officer with just a Level 5 certificate in Logistics and supply chain while the gf is already a graduate of Biomedical science before she decided to proceed to study Medicine. I am 💯 sure, this would never have happened in Nigeria. Hypergamy is real in Nigeria
It's peculiar to Nigeria from my experiences

About 5 of them now.
Like I said, I try my best being nice and not only medics, have dated, other areas are extensions of my dates. But the striking flaring up in medical students/doctors is the contention here.

In addition to that comment, never let any woman put you in that position. I stopped taking women seriously the very day I knew this. The same woman that is giving you hard time, another man is looking for a flimsy excuse to give her breakfast; a guy somewhere is already tired of her and the woman that’s dying for you is probably another guy’s prayer point.
Always go for a woman that can’t do without you and not the one that thinks she’s the one doing you a favor for dating you. Also if you love a woman, don’t let it be too explicit that you do. No be advice, na serious warning.
I just have this natural dislike for people working in the medical field. Most of them are just too proud and full of themselves
You have raised my concern too, loving too much can make some perceive you as weak as it's often said that the one that loves lower has higher power in the relationship.

The fact that about 5 I dated and just a little misunderstanding, they flare up and do the blocking is my issue here.
It's fine to get angry or disappointed, but I think pride is really what that flares it up.
