The Southeast will give him the required 25% despite the hostility,Obi 'yes daddily' influencing the voting pattern of Igbo land would not work this time around more so he's coming as a running mate. Are you saying Atiku would win North Central? Tinubu is even more popular among Northern Christians than Atiku. I agree it would be keenly contested but Tinubu is winning this.

you are very naive. Were those Atiku's 6.8m votes kept in a wardrobe? Things have totally changed. The 2 southern states won by Atiku in 2023( Akwa Ibom and Osun) would be overwhelmingly won by Tinubu in 2027. With the development in Oyo State,Makinde can't win Oyo state and he's likely fail in his bid to install a successor. The real actors of Oyo politics have since left Makinde's camp- Bisi olopoeniyan, Hosea Agboola etc As it stands today Atiku / Obi ticket will have a good show in North East and South East. APC will do well in Northwest not because the APC chieftains in the zone like Tinubu but because many of them are scheming to succeed him in 2031, therefore working for Atiku in 2027 is indirectly 'prolonging' their own ambition for another 4 to 8years.All what Tinubu needs to do is to make some key appointments from Atiku's strongholds and become more competitive in the areas. So, give or take Tinubu would emerge victorious.
you are too naive .No body is scheming to replace Tinibu from the North West .
North west and south east are currently the Most hostile regions to the Failed Tinibu presidency.

Your analysis is purely based on emotion and not the complex dynamics of election in Nigeria.

You left out incumbency factor, the damage done by bandit and terrorism to the image of any northern aspirant and the money factor that majorly determine the outcome of an election.

So the rebellious 15m votes will be scattered .

The only pathway for Atiku is with Obi additional 3 Million from Southeast.

Obi doesn't have any pathways in 2027
Kwakwaso doest have any pathways in 2027
Tinibu Made a big mistake in doing 1 party state .this make the contest two horse race .which is not good for his poor popularity
APC VS ADC is not good for Tinibu
APC VS PDP VS ADC VS LP VS NNPP VS PRP .

Yes this angle can be exploited.. Can you elaborate more on this?
The entire votes from the Southwest has been in range of 2.3m to 2.7m all for Buhari and Tinibu this a reoccurring decimal it will not change .this the only sure banker for Tinibu (Block votes ) Now Makinde a Fellow Yoruba will Appeal more to younger voters from the Southwest only ...for Bala Mohammed he cannot get 100k votes in his Bauchi and the entire North .So Makinde is cutting of Tinibu 2.5m voters in his yoruba enclaves .

All the 6.8m that voted Atiku are still rebellious against Tinibu and APC
Additional Tinibu 5.8M from the North that proper his to presidency is gone based on poor performance and tribalist.the Muslim Muslim manipulation is gone ..this votes are going to ADC and Atiku ( 4m )
The Kwakwaso spoiler of 1.4m from the North is going to Atiku/ADC
Makinde is a Spoiler for Tinibu like Kwakwaso was a Spoiler for Atiku .
The south eastern vote of 3 Million is going to obi .if this can be fused to ADC ( Atiku obi tickets) is bye bye Tinibu .
It will be 14m votes similar to buhari winning strategy.North brining in 10m +4m from south eastern.
From the south South Tinibu can only get 2m Max then few votes of 1m from Central
Total 6m

olushowunm:
2027 is around the corner and all political gladiators are preparing for the showdown. Let me say this slowly so it doesn’t get lost in the noise of premature anointing and social-media wishful thinking.

This permutation is not mainstream.
It is not on television panels.
It is not in party briefing notes.
It is something I am looking at ahead of the curve.

Politics, after all, is not about what is popular — it is about what is possible.

Now imagine this ballot in 2027:

• Tinubu on APC
• Atiku/Obi on ADC
• And then — quietly, deceptively — a Makinde/Bala ticket slips onto the BALLOT on PDP.

Most people will clap. Some will cheer. Many will misunderstand it.

Because the real question is not “Can Makinde win the election?”
The real question is “Who does Makinde help without intending to?”

And here is where political romance must give way to political mathematics.

Tinubu’s strength in the South-West is not emotional. It is structural.
It is not based on love; it is based on ownership /Southern solidarity psychology.
The South-West votes Tinubu in 2023 not because he is perfect, but because he is ours.

Now enter Seyi Makinde.

Yes, he is popular.
Yes, he is competent.
Yes, he can win Oyo comfortably.
Yes, he can nibble at Osun.
Yes, he can irritate Tinubu’s margins in Ogun and parts of urban South-West.

But let us not deceive ourselves.

Makinde will not collapse Tinubu’s base —but he will scratch it.
I see this as a way by opposition figures to get advantage in the south.

A Makinde–Bala ticket does not weaken Tinubu as much as it weakens the opposition.

Why?

Because Tinubu’s votes will be consolidated. While opposition votes are aspirational, emotional, and fragmented.

So instead of one united anti-Tinubu force, you now have:

• Those who want Atiku/Obi
• Those who want Makinde
• And those who will simply stay at home because “everybody is disappointing”

Meanwhile, Tinubu smiles quietly and wins with plurality.×This is the spoiler paradox.

The ticket that looks like rebellion ends up becoming distraction.
The ticket that looks like courage ends up becoming convenience.
The ticket that claims to be change ends up managing the status quo.

Let me be clear — this is not an attack on Seyi Makinde.
This is not praise for Tinubu.
This is cold political reading.

Politics does not reward good intentions.
It rewards alignment, timing, and arithmetic.

Unless the opposition produces a single southern consensus that forces the South-West into a binary choice, any third force in the region only performs one role:

§ Chipping the edges, while preserving the centre.

That is why this permutation deserves serious thought — not applause.

2027 will not be won by vibes.
It will be won by structure, consolidation, and who splits whose base.

And sometimes, the loudest “alternative” on the ballot is simply the quietest helper of the incumbent.

Food for thought.

— Olu Bank-Showunmi

PoliticsRe: Bodija Explosion: FG's ₦30bn untouched, ₦20bn yet to be paid - Oyo Govt by Educationalserv: 6:47pm On Jan 01
Hi
Ecstasy154:
The Oyo State Government has disclosed that the N30 billion released by the Federal Government as part of the intervention fund approved for the January 16, 2024, Bodija explosion in Ibadan, the state capital, has remained untouched two years after the tragic incident.

The government also revealed that the Federal Government is yet to release the outstanding N20 billion balance from the N50 billion approved to support the reconstruction of Old Bodija and its environs.

In a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, on Thursday, the state government disclosed that the N30 billion remains untouched in the state government infrastructure support account number 2045199879 with the FirstBank.

The statement partly reads, “Following the unfortunate explosion that occurred on January 16, 2024, in the Bodija area of Ibadan, and being aware that intervention funds exist at the federal level for states facing emergencies, His Excellency, the Governor of Oyo State, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, formally wrote to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, requesting approval for financial support to assist the state in managing the disaster.

“In the letter dated January 19, 2024, Governor Makinde outlined the immediate steps already taken by the Oyo State Government to mitigate the impact of the explosion.

“These measures included the deployment of earth-moving equipment to aid search-and-rescue efforts; the hospitalisation of injured victims with all medical bills fully covered by the state government; the deployment of ambulances and medical personnel to the scene; and the provision of accommodation for displaced victims in hotels at the expense of the state government.

“The governor then highlighted additional areas where federal assistance was required. These included: clearing of rubble and debris as part of continued search and rescue operations; immediate integrity tests on buildings within the affected axis and demolition of unsafe structures; compensation for owners of affected properties; reconstruction of Old Bodija and its environs; expansion of the emergency response hub; environmental impact assessment; logistics support and reimbursement; and infrastructural development required to restore normalcy to Bodija and surrounding communities after the massive destruction.

“To address these needs, the Oyo State Government estimated the cost of intervention at N100 billion and requested the President’s approval for that amount. The president, however, approved N50 billion— half of the requested sum. The purpose of the approved fund was clearly stated by the Federal Government as ‘Support for the reconstruction of Old Bodija and environs after the Bodija explosion.” (See memo dated 29 August, 2024, from the Accountant General of the Federation to the Minister of Finance, released by the political agent of the Federal Government, Mr. Ayo Fayose).”

The statement added that the state government explained that it deliberately refrained from accessing the funds because the remaining N20 billion was being withheld by relevant federal agencies, without any official explanation.

“Following the approval, an Oyo State Government Infrastructure Support Account (No. 2045199879) was opened with FirstBank of Nigeria for the intervention fund. Out of the approved N50 billion, the Federal Government, through the Central Bank of Nigeria, released N30 billion to Oyo State on November 4, 2024.

“As of Thursday, December 31, 2025, the N30 billion remained untouched in the Oyo State infrastructure account with the First Bank. Interested members of the public may verify this information with the bank.

“The Oyo State Government has deliberately refrained from utilising the N30 billion already released in recognition of the fact that the remaining N20 billion has remained withheld by the relevant federal agencies for reasons that have not been communicated to the state.

“Given the disgraceful drama of the last couple of days from the Federal Government on the approval, the government of Oyo State is convinced of the wisdom of its decision to ‘wait and see’ before deciding what to do with the money. Almost two years after the disaster, the Federal Government has yet to release the outstanding balance of N20 billion from the approved sum of N50 billion.

“The Oyo State Government remains committed to securing the balance of the approved funds to comprehensively address the damage caused by the explosion to both public and private properties. This is particularly important given the scale of the challenges faced by the state and the victims, many of whom have already been supported within the financial capacity of the state government”, the statement continued.

Concluding, the statement noted, “Following the explosion, Nigerians are aware of the swift and sustained efforts of the Oyo State government, which significantly mitigated the effects of the disaster. The state government did not wait for federal intervention, which came in November 2024, almost a year after the incident.

“As of today, January 1, 2026, the Oyo State government has spent N24.6 billion from its own resources on Bodija and its environs in direct response to the explosion and its consequences. This includes N20.141 billion spent on the reconstruction of infrastructure in Bodija and surrounding areas, as well as N4.085 billion paid as support and compensation to victims of the explosion. These expenditures were fully borne by the Oyo State Government.

“Documents released by the Federal Government through its agent, Mr Ayo Fayose, indicate that a total of N915.5 billion was approved as intervention funds for states across the country. The list of beneficiary states shows that one South-West state received N150 billion, while another received N50 billion. Oyo State, despite experiencing one of the most devastating incidents, received one of the lowest allocations among beneficiary states. Interested members of the public may consult the list for verification.

“Special intervention funds, when released, are received as capital grants. In line with standard practice and legal requirements, such funds are subjected to the budgeting process before expenditure and are duly reflected in the financial statements of the state. They do not require special public announcements upon receipt. This explains why other states that received significantly larger amounts did not publicly advertise the receipt of such funds.

“The Oyo State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, appreciates the continued support and understanding of the people of the state. The government particularly thanks the people for their discernment in seeing through attempts by desperate political actors to exploit the 2024 tragic events of Bodija to gain an undeserved foothold in our state for personal and political gains.

“The Oyo State Government has nothing to hide and will continue to engage the public transparently on all issues, including this one. Governor Makinde remains committed to serving the people of Oyo State faithfully, truthfully, and with utmost respect for the social contract that binds government to the governed. He has never denied anyone what is legally due to them and will not do so. The Governor and the Government of Oyo State wish the people a happy, peaceful, and prosperous 2026.”

FamilyRe: My Nigerian Father Admitted He Has A Secret 9-Year-Old Son by Educationalserv: 1:18pm On Dec 28, 2025
Oyinbogyal:
I’m mixed and living abroad. My mother is European and my father is Nigerian. My parents separated over 10 years ago, but they never officially divorced — they were legally separated.

The separation happened because my father did something very serious to my mother. In Europe, you cannot be removed from the family home simply because of marital problems. A married person is only forced out by the courts if something very severe happens. That is all I can say for privacy reasons, but it’s important context.

About a year after they separated, my father started begging my mother to take him back. This wasn’t occasional — it went on for years. At the same time, he was involved with a Nigerian woman from his own tribe. Behind that Nigerian woman’s back, he was still pressuring my mother to reconcile. My mum refused, but he never stopped trying.

Fast-forward to December 2025. Even this year, my father again went to my mother and asked her to get back together with him.

Then on Christmas Day, he finally admitted — not to me, not to my mother, not to all of us directly — but to my youngest sister, that he has a 9-year-old son he has been hiding from everyone. He then made my sister pass the message on to the rest of us. He could not say it to our faces himself.

What shocked me most is that this child was born about a two years after my parents separated — meaning that all the years my father was begging my mother to reconcile, he already knew he had a child elsewhere. He deliberately never told her… bear in mind this child lives in the same country as us in Europe but he is just been hidden.

When I called him to confront him, he confirmed everything. He also said something that disturbed me deeply: that he feels no real affection for the child and that the boy will never replace his “real family,” meaning us. Hearing a man speak that way about his own biological child was horrifying.

This is a fully Nigerian boy, same tribe as my father. Knowing my father’s own childhood — where he suffered badly under a cruel stepmother — I would have thought he might see himself in that child. But instead, he has completely compartmentalised him.

Meanwhile, the child’s mother still wants to marry my father. From what I can see, he continues to keep her hopeful without fully committing, while still fantasising about getting back with his legal “European wife” who doesn’t want him. He seems to keep multiple realities open at once.

What made everything click for my mother — and for me — is this:
If my mother had agreed to reconcile, my father could have moved back into the house legally as her husband. Because he would not repeat physical violence, she would have had no immediate way to remove him again via legal system/court. Only after securing his place back in the home could he then reveal that he had a child all along — effectively trapping her in a marriage built on deception.

That realisation is terrifying.

I also feel deep cultural dissonance. I told my father plainly: my mother is European. This kind of secrecy is not culturally acceptable where we live. It’s not “family affairs” or something to be normalised. Trust matters differently. Consent matters differently. So he cannot assume my mother will want him after hearing the news, she is not like the Nigerian ex you had a child with - in Nigeria it is normal for a woman to beg or wait for a man to marry you, in Europe it is shameful so he needs to stop thinking my mom will accept this.

This entire situation has destroyed my respect for him. I don’t feel anger as much as disgust and shame. I’m embarrassed to even explain this to my European friends. I feel like I’ve lost faith not just in him, but in my ability to trust what I thought were shared values.

I’m now engaged to marry a loving European man, and if I’m honest, this experience has made me afraid. Afraid of repeating cycles if I marry a Nigerian man. Afraid of normalising things I don’t believe in. I don’t reject my Nigerian heritage — I love the food, the music, the culture — but when it comes to marriage, honesty, and responsibility, I feel completely disconnected from what I’ve seen modeled.

Right now, I don’t even want to be around my father. I feel like something fundamental has collapsed, and I don’t know how to rebuild respect where trust no longer exists.

I’m sharing this here because I genuinely don’t know how to process it alone, and I want perspectives — especially from people who understand Nigerian family dynamics — without judgement.
kindly note the average Africa man is polygamous .you can't take him any where in Europe can't take the polygamy in him
In Africa even Catholic priest have secret kids .
His Nigeria family will encourage him to have a Nigeria kid to bury him so he genes will not be lost In Europe.
Like now you marry an European that might be the end of his lineage .
We are Africans we view life completely different ..
If you are mix race growing up in Nigeria and may be married to a Nigerians you dad will not any other kid outside.

Compliments of the season to this great house.

A while back, I made an inquiry about giving my car to a friend to use on the Uber platform while I was at work, with the hope of netting ₦400,000 as profit, which we would split equally on a monthly basis.

Unfortunately, he travelled for a different assignment, and we had to put the plan on hold until he returns in January 2026.

However, I came back to my home city (Benin city) o celebrate the festive period with friends and family and have been around for over two weeks now. I do not know how to stay idle for long, so I decided to register my car on Uber, Bolt, and inDrive to test the waters by myself.

I was accepted on all three platforms upon registration, I did not do any physical assessment whatsoever, quite strange though.
I turned on my Uber app the next day (a thursday) with excitement and waited for hours in Benin City without a single ride request. After a few hours, I decided to drive around GRA(gapiona, ugbor, ihama and so on), popular spots, and campuses, yet not a single ride came in. It was quite a shock.

The next day, I tried again with Uber and experienced the same thing. On that second day, Bolt approved my account. The moment I went online on Bolt at around 1pm, I got my first request immediately. I still left Uber turned on. I also checked inDrive, but the prices were extremely low on Indrive. Each time I tried to negotiate, the passengers declined my price. I mean, how do you book a 15 km journey for ₦3,000 and still refuse to negotiate? Indrive's negotiation is pegged, you can't go above a certain threshold, usually one cannot go 20% higher than what the passenger put in there, not many will obviously understand what it would cost to move from a certain location to another, they need to review their model, I think.

On my first day using Bolt, which was a Friday, I worked from 1 pm to 10 pm and made a total of ₦61,000 from about 10 trips. After Bolt’s deductions, I was left with ₦48,000. I spent roughly ₦19,000 on fuel, leaving me with about ₦30,000 profit.

The next day, I worked only in the evening from 4 pm to about 11 pm. I made around ₦37,000. After Bolt’s deductions, I received ₦29,000. I spent ₦10,000 on fuel and was left with about ₦19,000 profit.

I did not use the app again for about a five days, I had a presentation and virtual meetings in between from work. I came back immediately I was done with all that last last weekend, and continued my on and off, today, I decided to do full time - from 8AM to 6PM, greed forced me to go till 9pm, , I sha made ₦77,000. Bolt deducted about ₦14,000, and I spent roughly ₦20,000 on fuel, leaving me with about ₦43,000 profit.

My takeaway from this experience is that the job is extremely time consuming and stressful, una dey try abeg.... There is also a significant level of disrespect from some passengers. One passenger threatened to cancel the trip and report me to Bolt if I did not come down to help her load Christmas gifts into my car. I politely declined, and she was furious, but we moved on. As we were going some yahoo boys in a bid to avoid getting searched by police reversed with full force as my car was behind theirs, they ended up hitting my bumper and driver headlight, I spent 20k to fix the damage, but it was quite painful, i wanted to chase after them, but I relaxed sha. The said lady was now apologizing all through our, cos na she force me to pass that route in the first place, her pride turned into instant pity for me. We move sha

At multiple occasions, passengers turned me into their personal driver. One lady in particular, made me her stop and go driver, stopping multiple times to shop for Christmas items. In the end, she paid exactly what Bolt calculated, with no additional compensation for the wasted time. They all did this too, no compensation for time wasted from them or bolt

The male passengers were generally very cool, with mutual respect on both sides. Many female passengers, on the other hand, were quite disrespectful and condescending. If you have a rigid ego, it is difficult to handle e hailing as a partner driver.

On the bright side, you get to connect with people on the street and see the world from a very different perspective. I carried some high profile individuals I would never have met otherwise.

Driving on Bolt Comfort pays significantly more, The additional fuel consumption from using air conditioning is balanced by better earnings, making it a more lucrative option. On bolt comfort, the passengers are saner and more respectful too.

There were several occasions where I was stuck in traffic, yet Bolt did not adjust the fare to compensate for the time spent.

In total, within just two weeks on and off, I made over ₦300,000 net fueling was around 100k or there about

My question is this: why is Uber not operational in Benin City? Or is this how it is too in Lagos?

With these earnings, I am now contemplating quitting my job and focusing all my energy on this when I return to Lagos, while also building my own company on the side as well, he be like I am ready to comot hand for 9-5 sha.
let me help you further before you quit your Job.
You earning monthly will be in the range of 600k this a gross earnings
You have to subtract depreciation of the car per month Which is around 70k for a 8m car
Service 30k
Tyre 20k
Insurance
Parts / maintance 30k
Total 150k -600k
Balance is 450k .
Then you pay yourself salary =200k
Profit remain 250k .
In you Job you are the asset generating money
In E hailing run the car is the assets and you are the Human asset .

Understand this clearly.....
