These are the issues. You mentioned Rwanda is better than Nigeria. I only asked you a simple question to substantiate your claims with verifiable data and your efforts to making Nigeria better.

You think the current state of Nigeria is the much desired? To me as a person too, I know a lot of damage has been to the the economy and the reputations of the Country at large by those we call leaders.

I am no hypocritical as your emotions has pushed you to labelling me, I just wanted you to know that facts are better stated than statements driven by emotions

Do you think I like the negligence of Tinubu even at the height of insecurity in Nigeria?

See ehn, you can never be more careful. Only rely on the protection from God Almighty.

May I shock you that there may be people that just fixing a date for the wedding is a problem to them?

The Holy book says "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil"

May the soul of the departed rest in peace

madridguy:
A Yoruba adage said " Someone that had fixed his wedding date, yet going around hunting snakes his playing a dangerous play "

Though the report didn't stated what happened that led to the stabbing, but whenever we have a day like this on the way, stay clear of any form of argument or fighting.

The message is not for only groom or bride but everyone. Let hold our life so dearly and stay away from any form of trouble that can cause us sudden death.

May God comfort his loved ones.

Most hustle for foreign-based scholarships to study in a foreign university.

Even me sef, I won't be favorably disposed to furthering my education in Nigeria after graduating with First class
Exactly my thought too.

While it's commendable that we are promoting our own educational institutions, how about elites sending their own children outside the country to study? What message is that communicating to the people?

Is it only the South-Western part of Nigeria that people commit such heinous crimes? Open up and understand that trying to protect your region doesn't solve the current problem in the Country or even the ritual killings.

Please those from that axis educate us, was it a Christian dominated community?
Whether the school is Christian or Muslim is not the issue here; we are talking about human lives.

The real questions that matter are:

1. What concrete actions has the government taken in response to this attack?

2. Where were the security agencies when this happened? How could gunshots and chaos go unanswered?

3. Is this the first time we are experiencing a mass kidnapping in this country?

Governance is a social contract: citizens give their support, obey the laws, and respect leadership; in return, the government must provide security and basic amenities. What exactly are we getting from the current administration?

Let’s not be distracted by narratives meant to shift focus or suggest that foreign voices only speak out because of their own interests. The truth is simple: while leaders are busy celebrating political defections and strengthening their party, innocent people are being killed and abducted.

We must ask the right questions so that those in power stop taking advantage of our silence.

Changing the form of government means little if the same individuals remain in power. No matter how you repaint a lion, it remains a lion.

Democracy is effective only when we uphold both its benefits and responsibilities—ensuring accountability and justice, rather than selectively embracing only the parts that serve personal interests.

PoliticsRe: NNPCL Under Pressure To Reduce Petrol Price Amid Rivalry With Dangote Refinery by egbedox: 8:44am On Feb 11, 2025
I don't think there is a system in place to regulate prices. As the report has said, an immediate price reduction may not occur because of the fear of the unknown. The price of fuel as of now is volatile and until there is a more stable price balancing mechanism, prices may be difficult to regulate with the downward trend of fuel cost.

Anyway, I like the current competition. Breaking the monopoly in the crude oil supply chain panned out well. We hope there are further price reductions in the coming days and that life gets better for the masses.

Thank God for the throne of my Oba of Benin and the entire Igodomigodo. Edo state is the only region where kings are truly kings. All the rest are government controlled, shameless and lost.
Out of the abundance of the heart, the Holy Book says… I would have respected your thoughts and submission, but your approach lost its way when you failed to discern basic facts.

Did you truly do your research before stating that the government chooses the King? You even mentioned, 'I heard 😂.'

I encourage you to move beyond 'I heard' to 'I know.' Seek knowledge and ensure you fully understand the subject before speaking, rather than relying on hearsay and misrepresentations.

As a Yoruba person, I have great respect for all tribes. Your one-sided comments only contribute to further division in a nation that we should all strive to unify

The modern traditional rank is now a joke 🤣, Oyemesi doesn't have a say, No traditional rituals. Once the governor is okay with you just resume to the palace. Ibadan traditional system remain the best, if a king die today the whole Ibadan land know who's the next king (Even money can't change it)
I believe there may be a misunderstanding in your assertion. The late Alaafin passed away on April 22, 2022. Considering the two-year period before the new Alaafin was selected, what do you think happened during that time?

The Oyomesi and other kingmakers were properly consulted, and the Alaafin is traditionally rotated between the Alowolodu and Agunloye Houses, a duly followed practice. Therefore, I do not believe it’s a matter of the Governor's personal preference.

In my view, to preserve our cultural heritage and show the necessary respect to the kings, the staff of office should be presented by the kingmakers themselves, rather than the executive at the state or national level
