The painful truth about Nigeria is that politicians understand the power of hunger and poverty. Some of our youths and parents may continue to support the same politicians, not necessarily because they are satisfied with their leadership, but because poverty has made survival their biggest priority. When people are hungry, thinking about the future becomes a luxury. A bag of rice, a little cash, or a temporary favor can become more important than security, education, healthcare, jobs, and the future of their children. This is how poverty can become a political tool: keep people struggling to survive, and they may have little time, energy, or freedom to demand lasting change. But we must also understand that people living in poverty are not stupid. They are often making difficult decisions under desperate circumstances. The real question is why, after so many years, millions of Nigerians still have to depend on political handouts to survive. Our youths deserve more than campaign promises. Our parents deserve dignity. Our children deserve a country where their future is not sacrificed for today's survival. Nigeria needs a system where people vote based on accountability, security, jobs, education, and measurable results—not desperation. A hungry citizen needs food today, but that citizen also deserves a country where hunger will not control tomorrow's choices madridguy: |
Bandits Kill 40+ People in Binnari, Taraba State, Yet Nigerian Youths Are Still Supporting Tinubu for a Second Term! How can Nigerians continue to debate second-term politics while innocent citizens are being killed and communities live in fear? The police can be deployed to protect APC campaign posters across the country, but can the same level of urgency, commitment, and resources be deployed to protect ordinary Nigerians? Campaign posters should never receive more protection than human lives. Nigerians deserve security, accountability, and leadership that puts the safety of citizens first. Before asking for another four years, the government must answer a fundamental question: **What is being done to protect the people who are alive today? Nigeria needs action, not just political promises. |

I don't understand why some people would still vote for Tinubu simply because he's from their tribe. Democracy should not be about tribe, ethnicity, or religion. It should be about a leader's ability to deliver results, improve people's lives, and govern effectively. Leaders should be judged by their performance and competence, not by where they come from. |
I can't believe some people will still vote for Tinubu just because he's Yoruba. Democracy is not about tribe or religion. It's about competence, leadership, and the ability to deliver results for the people. Vote for performance, not ethnicity. |
A rejection isn't really awkward. It's just two people discovering they're not looking for the same thing. The awkwardness comes from our fear of being judged. |
I disagree with Wike. If you’re making serious claims, bring the evidence—Nigerians deserve facts, not political accusations. |
Totally wrong. There has been no official announcement that SGF George Akume has become Acting President of Nigeria. The Presidency said Akume would continue representing President Bola Tinubu at official events while Tinubu is abroad. Under Section 145 of Nigeria’s Constitution, the procedure for transferring presidential functions involves the Vice President, not the SGF |
hmmmmm ... Nigerian police can't do a shit |
