OP check oil dipstick, if oil is ok you can chose to diagnose fault first by checking if the oil level switch is working, it's a simple open and closed switch all you need is a multimeter set to continuity and a 14mm spanner to drain oil (or a very good jack to tilt vehicle) or you can ignore it if your oil is within safe limits on the dipstick. If you have oil, your engine is safe, it is not dying any time soon.

Thank you so much Gazzuz and Siena, you guys always have the answer. Unlike those of us who come here to tell us our engines will park up or kaput.
As for my Engine oil and all other fluids, they are all toped up. So, it is not about my oil not been toped. I think Gazzuz has a point, the switch might have been tampered with while the radiator was been installed, and also, it could be that my filter is bad.

Please car gurus, I use a Toyota Avensis, and I will like to know why this light is coming on, it all started as soon as I fixed my radiator top and got it re installed.
and also why does my car engine drag a bit even after servicing.

My toyota Avensis 2000 drags a bit when I am rolling freely without acceleration. Though the drag is not so obvious, you will only notice if you are used to the way the can runs, It never used to hesitate. I have bought 2 different injector cleaners and still no improvement. what is actually the purpose of injector cleaners?
could this engine hisistation have resulted when I was on reserve and almost ran dry on fuel? Could it be the fuel pump?

There is also a repeated clicking sound I hear in my engine when I start the car. And the mechanic thinks its the power steering engine. What could be the cause?

It's the rear foglamp indicator, Zim. Front fog lamps are indicated by a similar symbol, in green. It's also reversed, and the beam is slanted downwards.

To the thread starter: That indicator will only illuminate when you depress the brake pedal, if the brake lamp and rear fog lamp 12V+ feeds are interconnected. Most likely an incorrect connection at the rear of the car.

Has any wiring been carried out recently?

Lastly...make yourself understood better, by giving correct details about your car. A 1999 Toyota Avensis is 16-years-old. You may well have owned / registered it 7 weeks ago, but that does NOT alter the age of the car. A 7 week old car is brand new, very different from a 16-year-old example. The age of a vehicle is determined by the date of FIRST registration in whatever country it was originally sold in.

It seems you are right. Because I also noticed for the past two days now, if I leave my car overnight, it will not start without me hitting on the battery. It also happens when my engine isnot running and use my AC, the engine does not come on after that. Could this be the reason?

I understand how you feel. you thought am destroying the trade of law but am not destroying it. I am just telling things to know in order to escape being cheated by those who parade themselves as lawyers and those lawyers who are ready to cheat the people with their knowledge of law. lastly, am a law student and I know the stress and money that legal profession requires. is the stress and money invested in the study of law a justifiable factor in cheating the masses who might have little or no livelihood?
