The new Federal government policy on admission into tertiary institution has indeed come to stay. The Federal government through the Ministry of Education scrapped Post Utme in all tertiary institutions in Nigeria and replaced it with admission screening
Here is a list of important requirements for the 2017 admission screening:


1. O-level Results: Candidates are expected to present copies of their O-level Certificates or Statement of Results obtained in not more than two sittings.
Another thing you should know is that if it is up to four years you sat for your O-level examination, your institution will likely require you to present the Original Certificate of the O-level examination instead of statement of results because it is expected that your Original Certificate should be ready after four years.
NOTE: candidates still waiting for the release of their results, you can go for the screening with your O-level registration slip.
RESULT COMBINATION: Candidates can combine results even if it is from different examination bodies e.g WAEC and NECO. However, your institution may not allow you to combine NABTEB results with WAEC or NECO results.

The West Africa Examination Council WAEC 2017 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Results for School Candidates have been released.

The death of a 200 Level student of University of Ilorin, who reportedly drowned in the swimming pool of a popular hotel at Oke-Odo area of Ilorin, during the Eid el-Fitr celebration, has thrown the university community into mourning.

It was gathered that the late student, identified as Olaitan Bolaji Samsudeen, reportedly went to the hotel to swim with his friends, but when it was discovered he was having issue getting out of the pool, his friends tried rescuing him.

In a desperate bid to escape the hang man's noose, billionaire kidnap kingpin, George Chukwudumeje Onwuamadike alias Evans has dragged the Nigeria Police Force to court over what he described as his unlawful detention.


A senior police source disclosed that some members of his gang who want the matter charged to court before Police concludes its investigations have approached a Federal High Court to perfect his release.
The source said that those behind the latest move are afraid that Evans might expose them which might lead to their arrest and prosecution.

The source said: "The gang members on Wednesday hired a Lawyer who Sued Lagos State Commisioner of Police as well as the Officer in charge of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad ( OC SARS), Lagos Command. They are insisting that Evans Should be Charged to Court.

"Unknown to them, the Federal High Court last week Thursday gave order for Evans and his Gang members to be Remanded in Police Custody for three months. This is to Enable the Police Conclude all Investigations in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa, so that all involved will be brought to book."

Evans was arrested on June 10, 2017 at his mansion in Magodo Estate, Lagos, by operatives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Intelligence Response Unit (IRT). He has led the police to his camp where he often keep victims u till ransom demanded is paid.

The illegal detention camps are located at Igando and Jankande estate, Isolo.

A photojournalist identified as Francis Abiagan is a woman beater who has come out openly to talk about his reasons for constantly beating Joy, his wife.

The man who works with Business day has been accused on beating his wife constantly and even went as far as stripping her. Abiagan who has been married to his wife for ten years revealed that his life had been a living hell ever since his mother moved in with them.

The ailing mother needed attention and this prompted the photojournalist to take her to their residence at Ifo, Ogun state. According to Abiagan, Joy became difficult and this frustrated him.

Campaign Against Impunity and Domestic Violence, a group set up to curb domestic violence, accused him of beating his wife and ridiculing her openly.

In a statement released on Thursday by the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) – the University of Ibadan chapter, Dr. Deji Omole, no fewer than 38 universities across Nigeria have increased their school fees.

According to reports, the latest increment might be attributed to poor funding by the federal and state governments as ASUU poorly rated the President Muhammadu Buhari in the area of funding of university education.
