Notorious cult group, Badoo, on Friday, struck again, killing a couple at the Idioro area of Ogijo, Ikorodu town in Lagos. This would be the umpteenth time the cult members have carried out attacks on residents of the town. According to reports , the battered remains of the couple was found on Friday after a neighbor raised an alarm.
The said neighbor had given the couple her phone to charge in their home situated in an uncompleted building on Thursday June 22nd.
After calling repeatedly so that she could come to collect her phone and there was no answer, the neighbor decided to wait the next day to go to their house to pick it up. When she got there, she knocked for them to come out but there was no response.
After several calls and bangs, there door was forced open and there, the battered remains of the couple was found lying on the floor. Just by their remains, was a grinding stone, the trademark of any killing done by the cult members. The remains of the coupe to deposited at a morgue in Sagamu while the grinding stone was taken to Ogijo Division for further investigations.

Residents of the area later took to the street to stage a protest over the recurring attacks carried out by the cult group members.

The State Security Service on Friday, said it arrested suspected terrorists planning to launch coordinated attacks in Kano, Kaduna, Maiduguri, others, during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Spokesperson for the service, Tony Opuiyo, who made the disclosure in Abuja, said two suspects identified as Yusuf Adamu and Abdulmuminu Haladu were arrested in Sokoto in connection with the plot in the early hours of Friday.

Opuiyo, who was represented by Mr Nnanna Nnochiri, Opuiyo said the service had earlier arrested Bashir Mohammed, the facilitator of the Kano attack on June 20 at Unguwar Barnawa, Kaduna. One Shekarau Madaki was also arrested at Kumbatso Local Government Area of Kano State.
Opuiyo said that their plan, together with some currently at large, was to assemble explosives and use them on selected targets during the sallah celebration. The targets of the terrorists were markets, public parks, public processions, recreation centres and Eid grounds.
Items recovered from Mohammed ‘s house includes eight AK 47 rifles, 20 Ak 47 loaded magazines, 27 hand grenades, 793 rounds of live ammunition, one gas cylinder, three laptops, one Lifan motorcycle, one Honda Civic car and one printer.

In the past few weeks, this Service has uncovered a sinister plot by terrorist elements to stage series of coordinated attacks using explosives on different cities across the country. Their aim was to hit on soft targets such as markets, public parks, public processions, recreation centres, as well as worship centres especially the Eid Praying Grounds and other densely populated areas during the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration. The latest plan by the terrorists was to unleash mayhem on Kano, Sokoto, Kaduna and Maiduguri.
Consequently, the Service wishes to announce that the planned terrorist attacks in Kano and aforementioned States have been nipped in the bud.
This followed the arrest of Yusuf ADAMU and Abdumuminu HALADU in the early hours of today, 23/06/2017, in Sokoto. ADAMU and his accomplice were to command the operation in Kano. However, the Service had earlier arrested the facilitator of the Kano attack, an explosive expert by name Bashir MOHAMMED at Unguwar Barnawa, Shekar Madaki, Kumbatso LGA, Kano State on 20th June, 2017. Their plan, together with others now at large, was to assemble the explosives and use them on select targets during the Eid-el-Fitr Celebrations.
On the arrest of MOHAMMED in Kumbatso, Kano, a search was conducted at his residence wherein the following dangerous weapons were recovered:
i. Eight ( AK-47 rifles;
ii. Twenty (20) fully loaded AK-A7 magazines;
iii. Twenty seven (27) hand grenades;
iv. Seven hundred and ninety three (793) rounds of live
ammunition;
v. One (1) gas cylinder;
vi. Three (3) laptops;
vii. One (1) GSM phone;
viii. One (1) Lifan motorcycle;
ix. One (1) Honda Civic Car (Ash); and
x. One (1) printer.
The Service has also uncovered plans by the terrorist elements to infiltrate the ranks of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (a.k.a. Shiites). This is in an attempt to assume a formidable cover to unleash violence and evoke a complete state of chaos in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja during the group’s Qudus Day Procession/Rally scheduled for today (23/06/2017) in Abuja and several States in the Northern parts of the country. Sequel to this, the Service is warning members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) to desist from staging any form of procession or demonstration as the terrorists will seize the opportunity to unleash mayhem.
The public is encouraged to disregard the antics of these terrorist extremists to cause a breakdown of law and order and instill fear in the populace. The Service is working, in concert with other security agencies, to ensure that no section of the country is attacked during and after the Sallah celebrations.

The gruesome murder of Major Maxwell Mahama by some residents of Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region will be a dent on the mind of Ghanaians for a very long time.

Mahama was commander in charge of a military detachment at Diaso, a suburb close to Denkyira Obuasi.

A six-year-old Kenyan boy has been left severe burn injuries after he was allegedly set on fire by his father for stealing Sh10 (N30) to buy doughnut.
The boy who is nursing the burn injuries at Ogembo Nursing Home in Kisii County, told Kenya News Agency that on Monday evening when his father had failed to return home on time from work, he simply picked up 10 shillings from a table in their house and bought doughnut.
According to him, on Tuesday morning, his father woke him up after discovering the missing money.
“When I denied, he poured paraffin on me and lit a matchbox,” the boy said.
Mr. James Nyamweya, a clinician at Ogembo Nursing Home, who confirmed the incident told KNA that the boy sustained 40 per cent burn injuries after he was brought to the hospital by community policing officials.
Mang’ere Sub-Location area assistant chief, Mogesa Kunyoria, disclosed that the boy’s mother is a student and only comes home during holidays.

The police in Abuja have arrested 38 year old, Matthew Ankoor, pictured above, for beating his eight months pregnant wife, Hannah, to death in Lugbe, a suburb in Abuja on June 6th. According to The Sun, Hannah moved into Mathew's house nine years ago and they welcomed three daughters within the nine years. Mathew longed to have a son and had been putting pressure on Hannah to give him a male child.

Hannah began moving from church to church in search of a boy. This infuriated Mathew who insisted that she remains a devout member of the Catholic church which they had always belonged to, but she insisted she was going to go to different churches so she can give birth to a male child.

On the day of the incident, Mathew had instructed Hannah to wash his dirty clothes before he returned from his outing. Men believed to be members of the dreaded Badoo cult have carried out another attack and this time it is a pastor who is their victim. The victim, who is a minister with the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, had been sleeping at his home at Obayemi Street, First Gate, Ikorodu, when he was attacked and his head smashed with a mortar.

Wale Solomon, is currently in hospital fighting for his life following the attack. The incident happened in the wee hours of Saturday morning. The father-of-three, who lives in an uncompleted building without a fence, was home with his family when the attack occurred. His wife woke up when she heard her husband's cry then snuck out of the house to get help. By the time she returned with neighbours, the attackers had fled and the victim was found bleeding from the head and a mortar lay beside him.

Policemen were alerted immediately following the crime but by the time they arrived the criminals were long gone. An investigation into the attack is currently ongoing.

The Borno state Police command says 17 persons were killed and 24 persons were injured in the attacks carried out by Boko Haram members in Maiduguri, Borno state on Wednesday June 7th. The state police commissioner of Police, Damian Chukwu, disclosed this to newsmen at a press conference in Maiduguri this morning. According to the police chief, three suicide bombers were killed during the coordinated attacks. He said one of the suicide bombers was arrested alive.

“We had some incidents of act of terrorism by the BHT yesterday the 7th June 2016, which was a clearly indication that the terrorists who have suffered defeat and rendered incapable of carrying out their usual attacks had resorted to guerilla actions. They set fire on some houses. Reacting to distress call we deployed our counter terrorism unit to engage them. A Canadian nurse, Elizabeth Tracey Mae Wettlaufer, who pleaded guilty to killing eight assisted-living facility residents while she was a nurse, told a detective in a video confession on Thursday, that she thought God wanted to use her to cleanse the world.

Wettlaufer said she injected patients ranged in age from 75 to 90, with lethal dosages of insulin when she poisoned residents in two Ontario facilities between 2007 and 2014.

In a video, played during her one-day trial Thursday, Wettlaufer, 49, told an interrogator that she was angry with life, adding that she knew the difference between right and wrong. But she said she would get a "red surging with God telling me this is the one."

She said she also picked some victims because they were "mean."

Some of her victims, James Silcox, 84, Maurice Granat, 84, Gladys Millard, 87, Helen Matheson, 95, Mary Zurawinski, 96, Helen Young, 90 and Maureen Pickering, 79, were residents at Caressant Care Nursing and Retirement Home in Woodstock, where Wettlaufer worked.

Arpad Horvath, 75, resided at Meadow Park Long Term Care in London, Ontario. Horvath died on August 31, 2014.

According to Wettlaufer, who addressed the court on Thursday:

“I had this sense that God wanted her back,” she said of one of her victims. She said she told one of the victims, “I’m sorry, I love you” before injecting him.

She also said that once it was done, “it felt like the pressure was relieved.” She described having a “red surging feeling” when she chose a dementia patient as her next target. After she gave her some blueberry pie she knew “she was the next to go, it was her time.” After she had killed the woman she said she “got that laughing feeling.”

The video also showed Wettlaufer confessing to trying to kill others.

Police in southwestern Ontario said authorities received a tip in September that a nurse had killed multiple patients, which led to Wettlaufer's arrest.

Wettlaufer said after she killed five people she began to doubt God was telling her to kill. Maybe it was the devil, she thought. There were no killings between fall 2011 and July 2013. The former nurse told friends and a pastor what she had done, but that they didn't report her or do anything about it.
"Maybe they didn't believe me," she says. "I don't know. Maybe they just thought I was doing something that the patient wanted."
Wettlaufer will be sentenced later this month and faces life in prison.

A 21-year-old Alaska man was indicted by a grand jury last week for trying to kill himself then killing his girlfriend in the process. Victor Sibson was suicidal and tried to take his life by shooting himself in the head but by some stroke of fate, the bullet passed through his head then hit his girlfriend on the chest, killing her..


This happened on April 19 at the couple’s Anchorage apartment. Victor Sibson and girlfriend, Brittany-Mae Haag, 22, were taken to the hospital but Haag died the same day while Sibson survived his self-inflicted wound. Only one casing was found at the scene, and the bullet was recovered from Haag's chest during her autopsy.

Sibson, who is accused of second degree murder, turned himself in to police in Anchorage on Friday after police issued an advisory saying officers were not able to find him for two days.

He appeared in court on Sunday without a lawyer and told the judge that he was unemployed, hence could not afford one. Sibson was seen in court wearing a helmet to hide his head injuries caused by the gunshot. He told the judge that his girlfriend has been trying to prevent him from killing himself when the bullet hit her.

Haag's sister, Chelsea Hartman, lamented the death of her sister and told KTVA that she thought it was unfair her sister had to die that way.

She said: "I think a lot of it is still hard to grasp of how is it just one bullet, you know? And how does it go through one person and then the other person and kill the second person? It’s just not fair.”

The Oyo state police command have arrested 20 year old Ibrahim Aliyu Babatunde, for conniving with three of his friends to kidnap his father and then collected N1 million as ransom for his release.

Aliyu and three others namely Babuga Salihu (20), Aura Sands (20), and Amuda Yusufu (19), kidnapped his father, Aliyu Babatunde, at his Igboora home town on My 17th They held him for 3 days before releasing him after his family had paid N1 million ransom.
The gang were recently apprehended by the police and were paraded at the state command headquarters in Ibadan. When interrogated, Ibrahim said he organized his father's abduction because he has refused to cater for him and his siblings.
According to Ibrahim, his father has many wives and has not been responsible for the upkeep of his many children. He says he felt that the only way to get money from his father was to organize his abduction.
“We are many. My father married many wives and he doesn’t care for us. We are left by my father to fend for ourselves. So, I think the only way to get money out of him is to organise for his abduction and force him to part with the money.”

Prophet Samuel, the general overseer and founder of Set Captive Free Ministry has been arrested for allegedly taking N8m from Uche Nwoke, a church member, for delivering him from some family curses.

Things went awry after the deliverance failed and the two children of Nwoke died on the same day. This development led to the disappearance of the pastor who left hurriedly for Port Harcourt and was arrested there.

After Prophet Samuel was arrested, he was brought back to Lagos where he was arraigned before a magistrate in Isolo court. He was charged for false pretense, theft and threat to life. As a result of this, he was locked up in the prison.

The poor man who believed the prophecy of the pastor was said to have sold all he had in order to give the pastor the money for the deliverance to be done. The outcome of the deliverance done left Nwoke’s children dead. This saddened the man as he wondered why things became worse instead of turning out better.

Nwoke asked the pastor for a refund after this event; he was threatened by the pastor who said he was going to wipe out his family if he does not forget about the money. The matter thus got to the police who arrested Prophet Samuel and charged him to court.


Prophet Samuel pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison pending the time he would meet the bail condition. The case has been[sup][/sup]

It was gathered that an Irishman had to be admitted into a psychiatric unit for a month after losing his life savings to Nigerian scam artists.

According to reports from the Irish Mirror, a man identified as Stephen Wallace, almost went crazy after losing all his life savings.

Wallace who was looking for love online had reportedly been dealing with some men discovered to be scammers 'yahoo boys' from Nigeria.

The 42-year-old bachelor had encountered the boys who promised to 'send him the love of his life' after he must have sent them money.

Wallace eventually spent all his life savings, causing his bank (Bank of Ireland, Clifden) to put a 'stay' on his account, causing him to have a meltdown.

He was said to have gone to the bank armed with a kitchen knife, a baton and a hammer, with which he threatened to inflict serious injury on the staff.

Wallace was arrested and taken away to a psychiatric unit where he was held for one month.

His banker, Garda Alan Murphy, confirmed he was unstable before he was taken away:

“He started lashing out, he was kicking and punching. He had to be arrested for his own safety.”

Wallace's lawyer, JJ Mannion, claimed his client was not really sound, he said “He’s believed to be on the autistic spectrum.”


Judge Fahy who presided over the case between Wallace and the bank, said:

“It is so sad and just unbelievable. You’re looking at a huge amount of money [that] he handed over to somebody in Nigeria.”

Garda Murphy said Wallace was still living with faith and “truly believed somebody would come over.”

Judge Fahy then turned to Wallace and said “I’m telling you now that person is not going to come and you’re going to stop putting money into that account. Would you agree to do that?” to which he replied “I will yes.”

Police have launched manhunt looking for three women who murdered and dismembered a 22-year-old woman, Warissara “Amm” Klinjui in Thailand on May 23.
The three suspects, Priyanuch Nongwangchai, 24, Kawita Rachada, 25, and Apiwan Satayabundit, 28, are wanted on suspicion of killing of the young woman in the northeastern province of Khon Kaen. It’s alleged they lured her into a car, strangled her to death and then sawed her body in half as part of a revenge plot. Her remains were found buried May 25 in two large buckets.

Police in Chiang Rai province earlier said three women matching their descriptions were found in the the border town of Tachileik, Myanmar, on Thursday.
Chiang Rai Maj. Gen. Yanyoong Vej-osot said at about noon they had learned from Myanmar authorities it wasn’t them and the women remained on the run.

As police hunted for the three suspects, they led a fourth suspect already in their custody through “re-enacting” the grisly crime today. Wasin Namphrom, 22, (pictured with the police) showed police the spot in Khon Kaen province where she and the other suspects allegedly buried Warissara
After luring Warissara into a rented car, Wasin said Preeyanuch was the only one to assault her – and ultimately, strangle her to death in the vehicle.
The four drove to rent a room at a resort in Khon Kaen city, stopping along the way to buy supplies, including plastic bags and a saw. That’s where Preeyanuch sawed the body in half, placing each half into two large plastic buckets. They later drove to bury the buckets in Khao Suan Kwang district, approximately 60 kilometers away.

Top official with the Narcotics Control Board said on Friday that the lead suspect, Preeyanuch “Preaw” Nonwangchai, had a record of drug-related crimes.
Sirinya Sidhichai said Preeyanuch worked for one of the biggest drug dealers in Tachileik and arranged sales back in Thailand to her friends. Preeyanuch was believed to have fled to Myanmar with the other two fugitive suspects, Apiwan Sattayabundit and Kawita Ratchada.

Wasin Namphrom told police that the four of them planned to assault Warissara because they believed she had given information to police that led to one of their boyfriends being arrested on drug-related charges.
Wasin’s girlfriend Jidarat Phromkhun is also in police custody. She has denied being present during the crime.
Preeyanuch’s sister told police she called her Monday night and confessed to killing Warissara only after her victim threatened her with death if they left her alive.
"She said she and her friends only planned to lure her somewhere to assault her in revenge,” Prapasiri, 34, said, recounting a Monday night phone call in which her sister allegedly described the murder. “But then the woman said, ‘If I survive, then you die,’ so she became enraged."
Meanwhile, Myanmar police have told their Thai counterparts they know the whereabouts of three Thai women.

A police source said on Thursday the Myanmar authorities also have the description of a local man seen assisting the women after they crossed the border to escape arrest.
The group is supposedly living in Tachilek, close to the border opposite Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai district. They entered Myanmar on May 25, so their visas would have already expired on Thursday.
Myanmar authorities told Pol Colonel Ekkorn Bussababordin, commander of the Chiang Rai Immigration Police, they already knew the women’s location and would arrest them.

They said a man was seen picking them up from a dormitory residence near their new workplace, an entertainment venue in Tachilek.
